Introduction
Hello, and welcome to my very first deck guide. Even though I've been legend rank lots of times, I'm a lazy piece of shit to do any kind of guides around here. But this time It's different because I made a really good deck that is a nightmare to control decks. I played around 35-40 matches by now and i have over %80 win rate (%100 against control matchups), currently residing in rank 5. Started from rank 16.
About the Deck
As you can see, the deck is a Kobolds version of a standart Control Warlock from KoTF meta. Instead of Lich King, Abyssal Enforcer's and other small changes, i added some new OP cards, most notably Master Oakheart . It works almost same way as before, the only gamechanger is Rin, the First Disciple and I will come to that card now.
Rin is not for fun!
When i first saw Rin, the First Disciple , I thought, oh my god what a slow card. This would never see any play. But..... fortunately after my Day 1 decktesting results, i understood that you should'nt judge a book by its cover. Rin had won me so many games that you cant even imagine. Yes, it's slow. Yes It takes so long. But even discarding your opponent's last 4 cards is worth it. You lose so much tempo with the seals, but with twisting nethers and doomsayers you are able to neutralize the tempo, and win the heavy control matchup's with Azari!. Against aggro, it's bad. But You are not forced to play the seals. you can just keep Rin as a taunt minion with bad stats and win the game by other win conditions.
Important / New Card Explanations
Vulgar Homunculus : yay, Voidwalker on steroids. Masterpiece stats, amazing against aggro, can be recruited from Master Oakheart respectfully.
Fungal Enchanter : A sweet farewell to a veteran card, Earthen Ring Farseer . It's just tons of times better. AoE heal really saves your tempo for minion trades .
Rin, the First Disciple : Almost Auto-Win against heavy control match-ups. Can be recruited from Master Oakheart respectfully.
Master Oakheart : The game-winner, the card that this deck is almost built on, the value maker... OAKHEART! You can play 25 mana worth minions to your board with just one card. It's like Ultimate Infestation of Warlock. It's incredible. Amazing win condition. You basically DRAW and PLAY Tar Creeper , Vulgar Homunculus and Voidlord and a 5-5 minion for just 9 mana. Absolutely incredible...
Voidlord : Not a very good card by itself, but amazing synergy with Master Oakheart and Bloodreaver Gul'dan
Why am I not playing these ?
Voidwalker : Vulgar Homunculus is a better replacement because Voidwalker can mess up the value of Master Oakheart
Tar Lurker : Seems like a good combo for Oakheart. But it isn't a Demon and you basically play 1 attack minion for 5 mana when you draw it. Breaks the tempo slightly.
Abyssal Enforcer : We have much more important demons to play
Mountain Giant : Too old-school. Has no synergy whatsoever, and we have lots of low cost minions to play early game.
11.12.2017 Deck Updated
After a lot of deck testing with your suggestions and my researches i have made huge improvements that i hope you will like. I still think that the old version is really strong, but this one is a little bit better. In terms of survival and denial.
-1 Doomsayer
-1 Hellfire
Tried it and it ROCKS!
Kobold Librarian : Oh my god, how did I miss this card. I feel so idiotic for nut putting him before. You draw card for almost free and its a 2/1 minion! It's a MUST on every Warlock deck. Also has a good synergy with Lesser Amethyst Spellstone
Lesser Amethyst Spellstone : This was the first suggestion i got to put it in the deck, and I did. I just didnt like it before i rarely dealt damage to myself so it was mostly a 4 mana 3 damage lifesteal and it was meh. Then fortunately I met with Kobold Librarian and all of my ideas changed. Spellstone is a huge value that cant be ignored.
Tried it and it SUCKS!
Skull of the Man'ari : I really wanted to like this card. I really did. I experimented this a lot. But no. This deck already has very slow tempo and can't accept a "future invesment" for 5 mana. Seriously, against aggro you cant even play it. Also it automatically plays Azari, the Devourer and even though playing a free 10/10 seems good, not triggering his battlecry really removes the fun and efficiency.
The Darkness : JUST NO! I replaced this card with 1 Twilight Drake as suggested in the comments. And I hated every minute of it. Also, gonna say the same thing. This deck has really slow tempo. And against control match up's its already amazing. But against aggro it struggles. And you want to struggle more with Dormant minion (basically four dead mana and a card) instead of a possibly 4/8 drake ? No way. If this deck is played properly, you are already godlike in lategame. Darkness is just way too greedy and I can't accept it.
Arcane Tyrant : I'm not gonna lie, It's an amazing card. And also has good synergy with this deck. But from my testing results i mostly draw this and wait for siphon souls and twisting nethers, So I just keep 6 mana 4/4 minion in my life for eternity. In late game it becomes useful, but i still think Twilight Drake is better, even though It's almost a tie between them. If I played Medivh, the Guardian then it would be amazing but sadly Control Warlock meta accepts either Oakheart or Medivh win conditions and you cant combine them together efficiently.
As promised, MULLIGANS!
Rogue: Doomsayer ,Vulgar Homunculus, Twilight Drake, Kobold Librarian / If you already have kobold keep Lesser Amethyst Spellstone and Mistress of Mixtures
Warrior: Doomsayer , Twilight Drake, Vulgar Homunculus , Kobold Librarian / If you already have kobold keep Lesser Amethyst Spellstone and Mistress of Mixtures
Druid: Doomsayer , Twilight Drake, Vulgar Homunculus, Kobold Librarian / If you already have kobold keep Lesser Amethyst Spellstone and Mistress of Mixtures
Paladin: Doomsayer , Vulgar Homunculus , Twilight Drake, Kobold Librarian , Defile / If you already have kobold keep Lesser Amethyst Spellstone and Mistress of Mixtures
Priest; Twilight Drake , Kobold Librarian
Warlock: Mortal Coil , Kobold Librarian , Doomsayer , / If you already have kobold keep Lesser Amethyst Spellstone and Mistress of Mixtures
Mage: Doomsayer , Kobold Librarian , Mistress of Mixtures / you can keep Twilight Drake if your hand is already good.
Shaman: Not enough data (will be updated according to meta)
Hunter: Doomsayer , Defile , Drain Soul , Vulgar Homunculus , Twilight Drake
I'm asking the same question :P
If you play control warlock or warrior, then yes. %100 worth it
I think Fungal Enchanter makes this deck a little less consistent because you can recruit it from Master Oakheart and you never want to do that, right?
You are supposed to keep that card in mulligan phase. Happened to me a lot too, but it doesnt really makes oakheart rubbish tho. and also I recently added the warlock demon weapon. and that way your drawn voidlords can be useful.

Can i run this deck without running the oakheart package? what are some replacements if so
Sorry you cant replace oakheart. It's the main card in this deck
I would never do that. Slow tempo, less oakheart value.
Do you think the spellstone has a place in this deck?
You dont have lots of self damaging cards. Also AoE clears are a lot more important than single target bursts. So no.
Thoughts on Spellstone over Twilight Drake?
Twilight Drake can be really annoying against aggro decks, which we suffer mostly from. Also really good against priest, whixh is super meta right now. I explained Spellstone on the other reply.
