I originally got the idea to build this deck from trying to make a deck around Spiteful Summoner, but it ended up having lots of other synergies as well. There’s handbuffs, some Corpsetaker synergy, a couple of elementals and of course support for the summoner.
Let’s go through all the cards and why they’re here:
Fire Fly: 1-drop that helps contest the early board, provides another target for handbuffs. Very solid card.
Righteous Protector: Also for getting on the board early, good against aggro, hard to remove.
Drygulch Jailor: Pretty slow card but gived targets for handbuffs which is nice.
Hydrologist: Decent body and a bit of value. Thinking of getting something a bit better for tempo here but haven't figured out what.
Grimestreet Outfitter: cheap handbuff card, all of the minions are great targets for this.
Benevolent Djinn: Deck is pretty greedy so heal makes it better vs aggro, elemental tag, good card to buff
Stonehill Defender: becomes much better when buffed, also gives more targets for buffs
Wickerflame Burnbristle: good against aggro, even better when buffed
Tar Creeper: great anti-aggro card, also benefits a lot from handbuffs and has an elemental tag
Chillblade Champion: good with handbuffs, heal and removal
Corpsetaker: Will almost always get taunt, divine shield and lifesteal, great handbuff target
Truesilver Champion: amazing multi-purpose weapon
Grimestreet Enforcer: handbuffs
Servant of Kalimos: elemental synergy
Spikeridged Steed: target for the summoner, just a great card
Spiteful Summoner: One of the core cards of the deck, great tempo swing especially if buffed
Sunkeeper Tarim: Excellent comeback card
Dinosize: target for Spiteful Summoner
Lay on Hands: target for summoner
Replacements:
If you don't have Wickerflame Burnbristle it's not worth running Corpsetakers either. It's pretty common to draw both Righteous Protectors and the Chillblade Champion before you draw your Corpsetakers, in which case you're stuck with a 4 mana [deck]ironfur grizzly[/deck]. I would replace these cards with 2x Tol'vir Stoneshaper and maybe another Benevolent Djinn.
Golakka Crawler is a nice card if you're seeing lots of aggro with pirates, Medivh, the Guardian if there's lots of control.
Mulligan:
Against aggro keep Fire Fly, Righteous Protector, Hydrologist, Wickerflame Burnbristle, Corpsetaker and Consecration. If you're running it, keep Tol'vir Stoneshaper.
Against control you're looking for handbuffs and draw. You can also try to be aggressive.
Edit: -1 Vinecleaver, -2 Consecration, +1 Zola the Gorgon, +1 Lay on Hands, +1 Chillblade Champion
Edit2: -2 Igneous Elemental, +2 Benevolent Djinn
Edit3: -2 Saronite Chain Gang, +2 Corpsetaker
Edit4: -Level Up!, -1 Drygulch Jailor, +2 Hydrologist
Edit5: -1 Benevolent Djinn, +1 Consecration
Edit6: -1Consecration, -1 Zola the Gorgon, +2 Tar Creeper
Awesome deck, but I would really add corpsetakers. Maybe cut the Saronites for them!
Personally I would change Igneous Elemental and Servant of Kalimos to Vinecleaver, Tirion and maybe second Level Up!
Yea dudes buffing is very weak wincondition against priests, but can be quite strong against tempo and aggro decks.
How about cutting the 2 drops for Keleseth and adding Tirion and Bonemares? IK it's more generic, but it definitely fits the deck
You could also cut Consecration and Level Up for one copy of Lay on Hands and Chillblade Champions? They synergise well with buffs, while keeping your lowest spell cost at 6
