*UPDATE*

With the new expansion out, I think it'd be wise to not invest in this deck quite yet as the meta will be changing and I don't want you all wasting dust. Thanks for the support :)

Introduction:

Standard Evolve Shaman used to get to rank 5. While evolve shaman is no longer as strong as it once was, this deck is still in the meta and has constantly gotten me to higher ranks. The deck has 2 main win conditions:

It is also possible to win otherwise by just consistently overrunning the board and playing cheap Thing from Below to beat your opponent before they get their combos. Thrall, Deathseer is also another card in this deck which can be quite useful but usually by the time you want to play it you're already most likely in a good position and you are completely stomping on your opponent.

Alterations:

If you don't have a billion dust like everyone else expects you to have then here are a few cards you can swap out if you need to:

Yes this wont quite have the same ring to it if you don't have these two legendaries but it will still work. The main function of this deck is to either be aggressive or get those evolve combos going.

If you do happen to have infinite dust and/or cards then one change that you could make is to switch out one Saronite Chain Gang for Aya Blackpaw to get bigger and more Jade Golems.

It's also possible to change this deck to make it more control-like. This would mean including things such as Lightning Storm for early game board removal and using Stonehill Defender for the opponents little guys. A Hex could also be useful for that one big guy you cant deal with. Also now that Marin the Fox is out, you could incorporate him and you would get value from evolving an 8 drop and breaking the chest.

Mulligan:

Most of the time you want to keep any of your 2 drops and lower but in some instances it's better to have different 2 drops for different opponents.

Mage Bloodsail CorsairFire FlyJade ClawsPrimalfin Totem and Flametongue Totem

In most cases Bloodsail CorsairFire Fly and Jade Claws are always kept but cards like devolve will only be kept for cases like Edwin VanCleef or for a full board buffed by Prince Keleseth. Devolve can also be kept for when Druids play either Spreading Plague or Living Mana. Playing coin into Primalfin Totem can also be good for putting pressure on your opponent and forcing them to deal with it or die.

Advice:

  • Fire Fly is on of the best 1 drops in the game but it is also effective if you use your mana efficiently. An example of this is instead of playing Fire Fly and the 1/2 it produces on turn 3, you can play Fire Fly and hero power for a totem. This gives you value in other ways because you could be reducing the cost of Thing from Below and/or getting spell damage for a bigger Maelstrom Portal.
  • Playing Doppelgangster and Evolve is pretty much the best it's gonna get. So if you can hold on to a coin to be able to do that on turn 5, don't hesitate. It's three 6 drops for 6 mana!
  • Coin Primalfin Totem is effective for bringing out your opponents removal and also for a turn 2 Flametongue Totem.
  • Evolve doesn't just have to be used for Doppelgangster or Saronite Chain Gang, it can also be used on a full board of 1 and 2 drops from your side to get the extra little bit of attack or health to avoid a board wipe or get lethal next turn.
  • REMEMBER the 1 mana overload from Jade Claws which could prevent you from playing a Doppelgangster and Evolve or a Mana Tide Totem next turn.

Important Note:

While this is a guide giving you advice on tips that work in most cases, it is not the rules telling you how to play the game. If you find that you want to play a Doppelgngster on its own so that you can Bloodlust next turn, knock your socks off. Make sure that you are somewhat sticking to the basic mechanics of this deck though or else you wont be seeing rank 5 for a while.

Leave a comment if you'd like to see anything else being played in this deck or think you have some cool tips to improve the deck.
