Alright i've never done a deck write-up before, but i'll try.

Hey everone, my name's Themodified and i'm mainly a wild player. I mostly play till rank 5 and then start fooling around. Last month i tried rebuilding old decks like mechmage and OTK warrior. These decks can be found on the wild hearthstone reddit page.

As of this month, a new idea popped into my head, and here we have Malygos warlock.

The old Malylock used cards like Sludge Belcher, Antique Healbot, Imp-losion and Shadowflame to stall the game until you could draw all of your combo pieces an get Emperor Thaurissan to make you able to play them all in one turn. The first few turns you would lifetap and play a big threat on turn 4 that would protect you until that moment.

Now the deck is more versatile. Ofcourse you need a lot of draw, but malygos isn't your only win condition. The deck is more minion heavy, so you can contest agressive decks on board from turn 2 on.

Card choices

First you have the combo pieces:

Malygos, Darkbomb, Soulfire and Emperor Thaurissan. You mostly don't need the entire combo, but if you manage to do so, it deals 34 damage. Make sure you get some extra cards in your hand so the first Soulfire has the smallest chance to discard the second Soulfire, missing you 9 damage.

Then you have the dragon package:

Twilight Drake , Twilight Guardian , Azure Drake , Blackwing Corruptor and Book Wyrm. Malygos can sometimes be a dead card if you get it in the early game. In this deck it's still very useful. You dont have to worry that you don't get a dragon in hand in time.

Mortal Coil is a great card against agressive decks. It kills enemy minions and helps you draw into combo pieces.

Dark Peddler is always a great card. It can help you get extra Soulfires for your combo, mortal coils for drawing or protective 1 drops for keeping the board against agressive decks.

Brann Bronzebeard is kind of an auto include with 17 battlecries. Best combined with Twilight Drake and Defender of Argus for a wall of taunts or with Azure Drake when you still need combo pieces and have Emperor Thaurissan in hand. People will mostly clear Brann as soon as possible, keep that in mind.

Earthen Ring Farseer is better than Antique Healbot in this deck. You don't need that much healing for yourself. Farseer has the possibility to heal your minions and is cheaper if you just need a 3/3 body on board.

Tainted Zealot can help you deal the damage you need. If you only have 1 Darkbomb in hand, together with Malygos, soulfires, and this card, it does a few extra damage for the low cost. It can also be combined with Mortal Coil to kill higher health minions and still draw. One of the few newer cards in the deck.

Hellfire and Abyssal Enforcer are your board clears. Hellfire can sometimes also be combined with Azure Drake or Tainted Zealotfor a better board clear or face damage.

Experimental cards:

I've also been testing some new cards, but they just aren't good enough

Defile has real potential in this deck. The problem is the meta. There are too many slow decks so the card doesn't do much.

Drain Soul also has potential, but there's the same problem. Since it can only deal damage to minions, it won't replace a Darkbomb. If the meta was more agressive, the healing could help, but now it's not needed.

Tuskarr Fisherman was a fun card i tried. It barely sees play, but there's a good reason. I tried combining this card with Brann Bronzebeard, but whatever card you target gets killed within 2 turns, always.

Bloodmage Thalnos is a card i had in my deck and is actually really good. with the recent grow of Keleseth Rogue/warlock, i put in Imp Gang Boss to have some early board control. If you don't run into keleseth decks, i'd say you put back bloodmage!

If you have any questions or ideas for old decks to revisit, please let me know so i can have some fun with them!
