Hello everyone! I am here with Corpsetaker Rogue deckguide, a deck that took us all by storm. It was nowhere to be found, then one day Hypno put Corpsetaker into his Rogue deck, immediately hit LEGEND RANK 1 with it and now we are here! I made some tweaks and changes to the deck, and I must say I really like my current version and feel really confident when playing it.
This is one of those rare decks I play that's not trying to make it to turn 20! This deck is very solid in early and midgame instead, applying enough pressure on control while being good enough to defend against all-in aggro decks. You just play your strong cards, take control of the board early a go from there!
This deck has no big sweeper, so you need to fight for the board all the time, and if it slips away from you you might have a hard time taking it back.
While this is still a deck with Prince Keleseth in it and you want to see him in your opening hand, you are not going all-in on him. Instead you are looking to have a solid curve, and Fire Fly or Swashburglar are the ones you want to go for. Backstab is also amazing if you know you are not playing against some heavy control deck.
After you have some of these you can be more liberal with the rest of your hand, you can just keep Tar Creeper against same decks as Backstab. Corpsetaker is also a possible keep if you have something to do before turn 4.
First we have a classic pirate package in form of Swashburglar and Southsea Deckhand which both power Patches the Pirate. While playing this deck, you should keep in mind that Golakka Crawler is everywhere, and if you can make it so that your opponent doesn’t have a target for it, you should usually do that. This is also the reason why you cannot find Southsea Captain in the deck even though he would be a fine addition otherwise.
Turn 2 you just slam Prince Skilleseth because you are skilled enough to have him literally every time in your opening hand. If you get extremely unlucky and don’t have this guy ready to go, then you usually dagger up and fight for the board. Rogue’s hero power is one of the biggest reasons while Prince Keleseth is so good in Rogue, as using it on turn 2 is almost as good as playing a random 2drop to efficently fight for the board.
Now we are getting to the Corpsetaker and classic package around him. This guy is really living on the edge here, but is definitely worth it. Unfortunately there is no way for him to get lifesteal, but trust me, no card that would grant him that is even close to playable. Windfury is also a stretch, one copy of Stormwatcher is taking care of that. I have considered playing two of them a lot, but overall drawing him has mostly been very unpleasant, so I would rather get punished by losing windfury on Corpsetaker.
Tar Creeper is taking part of taunt, and as you guys probably know, this guy is amazing by himself, so no worries there. It gets interesting in the divine shield department. I am running Argent Squire and two Argent Commander to solve that. These cards are on the edge of playability by themselves, and Corpsetaker is what pushes them over. I have been particularly impressed by the Argent Commander against Priest, which has a very hard time dealing with this sticky guy.
Cobalt Scalebane is becoming a staple of current metagame, and there is a good reason for it. Not only he represents a ton of stats immediately when played and even more if left unanswered, but he also survives Dragonfire Potion, which is extremely relevant considering the fact that Priest is a big part of metagame right now.
I know I will get some questions about Counterfeit Coin, so I might just answer them right away. This card solves some mana curve issues of the deck while being amazing with Vilespine Slayer, so I just like having one of them in the deck.
I also have a feeling there will be plenty of questions about switching Shaku, the Collector. The card is good and I recommend playing it, but it’s not a core card by any means, so feel free to play SI:7 Agent instead.
There is also no Shadowstep and Leeroy Jenkins in the deck, which has a pretty good reason. Shadowstep is insane with Prince Keleseth early, but if you drew Prince you are in good spot regardless, and without it both of these cards are clunky and situational. Don’t think about the best case scenario when you are evaluating a card, but instead focus on average spot and go from there.
By cutting these cards you make your deck less “random” and play much more consistent games, which will result in higher win percentage.
That’s it for today, thanks a lot for reading, and I hope you will have as much fun with the deck as I have. If you want to see this deck in action then make sure to check out this video deckguide as well, and if you like the deck hit my Youtube subscribe button if you haven’t done so already ;)

Replacement for Shaku?
Read the guide. You'll find it.
Glad you like Eagle! Agree, this is the perfect deck for someone who is having a bit of a problem with that last step to legend, it's raw power is amazing :)
very nice deck from stancifka as always XD
here my 3 games vs control paladin, kazakus warlock, and keleseth rogue. enjoy :)

Are you sure Keleseth is in this deck?
I crafted him especially for this deck, played the deck 10x and haven't seen him once....
FeelsBadMan
Deck works surprisingly well, and I prefer it over standard tempo rogue, which needs Keleseth in the opening hand to perform well. This doesn't feel as debilitating if he's not in your opening hand; more like a bonus if he is.
I am currently experimenting with adding some card draw into the mix to avoid running out of steam. Shaku and Swashburgler feel essential in this regard and may be enough as the deck is already packed.
Great deck; look forward to tinkering with it on ladder.
Why not young dragonhawk for windfury instead of stormwatcher? Wouldn't that fit much more into the deck's theme?
Also, why no lifesteal? One of rogue's weaknesses seems to be lack of any good health regen. Is bloodworm not mana efficient enough?
You can use Grook Fu Master for the same purpose.
Still under DFP range
There is no way that young dragonhawk is bad. I get that maybe it doesn't fit into this deck, but it can often be 10 damage if not dealt with immediately. It is a great target for all the attack damage buffs in this deck. I'm not saying it fits, but I'm not sure why. It reduces the problem of drawing stormwatcher being "very unpleasant".
Your quote about lifesteal is just stating that they are unplayable, not really why. I get they aren't great cards, but giving an extra 2 cards lifesteal seems like they would have to be absolute dog shit. Bloodworm is just 1 mana too expensive. Seems like saying it isn't even close to playable is a stretch.
In my experience so far, you are not mulliganing as hard for Prince Keleseth as traditional tempo rogue. You want a solid curve to gain board control and your Corpsetaker buffing cards in your deck.
To the point though, Stormwatcher has a better chance of sticking on the board, which is essential for buffing with Cold Blood, Bonemare, and colbalt scalebane.
I can give me my impressions of long time rogue player.
1) I don't like Bittertide Hydra in rogue for hero hp loss even to small minions - it sometimes makes a huge difference, especially vs hunter or warlock. Scalebane is so good even alone because it's a must-remove minion and you love when your opponent throws up his removals
2) Argent squire is an annoying sticky 1 drop, very good alone if buffed so it's always a good choice in a tempo deck. Can also be used as a trigger for combo
3) In my experience, Vicious Fledgling quite never wins games alone. But it's a very good magnet for removals
4) You answered the question yourself – tried The Curator in rogue and it's really damm slow
Hope I could be of some help anyway. Have fun, this deck is one of best tempo rogues around!
Vicious Fledgling has won me lot of games. I would definitely recommend to keep it in the deck.
This is an awesome deck! I am doing better then the original Kel deck I was using for my rogue :D
Great! Now I just need 5000 dust!
...Hey, if I start a GoFundMe page, how many people would donate for me to buy Hearthstone packs to afford this deck? :D
Hey Cifka nice deck but i dont have shaku can u suggest me a replacement ? Also does shaku worth the craft u think ?
He definetely is worth crafting, as Cifka stated above, you can replace him with SI:7 Agent or Southsea Captain, any good 3 drop really.
Looks nice but so far like 4-5. Lost to zoolock (worse draws), tempo mage (no 1 drops drawn and dead on turn 6/7), midrange/face hunter (poor draw and dead on like turn 7 again), jade druid (taunt army, though I might have overextend the board...). Wins were against some slower decks.
EDIT: Lost to token shaman. Had firefly, patches and prince in starting hand. Outvalued in early game by fireflies + flametongue + pirates. Couldn't catch up and died on turn 7/8 (devolve + bloodlust).
EDIT2: Two wins against kazakus priest, no big deal.
EDIT3: Lost to token shaman. Very close match. Tried my best to control the board but it was really difficult. I ended turn 8 with a nice board advantage (6/6 edvin, stormatcher and vilespine), though with 3 shaman tokens on the board. Exact lethat with Bloodlust on turn 9 ended the game.
EDIT4: Lost to midrange hunter. Again quite close fight and till turn 8 we were like "even" with health and board presence. Then again, turn 9, +3att buff + kill command and -15hp ended the game.
EDIT5: Win against zoolock. Good early draws and clearing the board but I think that ultimately it was prince that won me the game.
EDIT6: Lost against miracle rogue. He simply had too much answers and ways to clear the board. Plus quite lucky with "stolen" cards. Conceded on turn 9 valeera into 2 arcane giants, having 16 health.
EDIT7: Won against jade druid (went pretty smooth) and lost vs murloc paladin. Maybe my bad there, as I might have used vilespine to early (to kill 3/7 buffed guy) and then couldn't handle with huge bonemare (bonemare buffed with bonemare, then blessing of kings and with spike - 15/19 taunted minion with 2/6 taunt agony - gl&hf ;)).
EDIT8: Just lost to some really weird control (?) slash combo rogue with doomslayer, curator, alexstraza and stonetusk boar lol. Aside of the "combo" he made on turn10, he was just able to clear my board more less constantly.
PS. It may be obvious but if we draw poorly (no 1drops in the starting hand), we will most likely be beaten by other tempo/aggro decks
PS2. All games on casual.
looks nice!
Gonna test it.
Also, the less RNG list seem solid
