The deck does not require the quest in wild due to Emperor Thaurissan.
Primordial Glyph is used to survive longer by discovering freeze, removal or an extra Ice Block. Works great in this deck and it is an auto include in any Mage deck.
Simulacrum is a very flexible card and it is great when you use it on the aSorcerer's Apprentice. The card can be used with Emperor Thaurissan for extra cheap cards, on Doomsayer in aggro matchups and on a Coldlight Oracle for extra draw and/or milling your opponent.
All you need to pull of the combo is 3 Sorcerer's Apprentice and a Molten Reflection then you play Emperor Thaurissan and you're good to go. Once turn 10 hits and your survived with freezing the board you drop Archmage Antonidas and proceed to play the 3 Aprentices wich reduce the cost of the Molten Reflection to 0.
What are your thoughts on running Kazakus instead of Reno Jackson ?
You need to land the emperor discount on any 4/5 combo pieces. Simple as that.
Nice deck, very fun to play

Post your own deck and saying it's better? That's lame! Even if it would be perfect deck I would not want to play it now...
I don't like being the negative one here, but why would you put reno into a deck where other card has duplicate. 99% of the time he is a dead card in your hand who cant be played till your last couple of cards and against aggro he can never get played because you die before you draw all dupes. What were you thinking when you added this card it can't even be played against priests half the time and that says something.m
I agree with you on Reno for Exodia. Requires too many duplicates in the deck to make Reno consistent. I'd rather run Yogg as at least that's some fun.
As for the no quest build, I find it frustrating to face other mages and Priests (who inevitably steal an Ice Block). If you run the quest, after you drop Emperor you can combo and pop the block then cast Time Warp for the win. Unfortunately, mages and priests make up a significant chunk of the meta.
Don't bother asking, he copied this deck from someone else who posted it on Instagram, I believe the pro player who posted it (made top10 legend) added Reno as a tech because he constantly got combo pieces at the bottom of the deck or something, It can actually work pretty well in my opinion (didn't try yet).
i wonder the only way to get a third [card]Sorcerer's Apprentice[/card] is to copy it with Simulacrum (btw. what happens if you have Doomsayer and Sorcerer's Apprentice in hand?) since you don't run a second version of it or Duplicate. In your notes you suggest also to copy other minions and your hand but you would destroy your combo, right? I can understand if doing it against an aggro deck but in a control matchup you would never copy [card]Emperor Thaurissan[/card] or Coldlight Oracle in my opinion. Have I overlooked something?
This is the main win condition, but yes it also works with 2 Molten Reflection and two Sorcerer's Apprentice but still I would reduce my chance to get the combo done.
hello excuse me i am just wondering is it possible to hit legend with this deck in wild, i am now rank 4 in wild and want to know if this is viable for legend level play thank you so much praise the lord
thank you sir bless your soul
-1 Primordial Glyph +1 Bloodmage Thalnos if you want more cycling.
Is it ok to put on the deck with no link on real creator?
I am so glad that I don't need that quest to make this kind of deck. It is getting expensive to play all the cool different kinds of decks.
Thanks for clarifying we need just 4 pieces of the combo to play the Emperor, then wait for the final piece.
I was playing wrong, waiting for the whole 6 pieces of the combo (inclusind Emperor), but frequently it's too late. This way, much easier...
Im being playing Exodia quest-less in wild for a while. The math is like this, you must have ANY 4 pieces of the 5 to play safe Thaurissian.
Dont matter which 4 pieces, when you have 4 pieces, lay thaurissian ASAP
I play with 2 simulacrum, for a backup plan if the dirty rat one of them.
If they dirty rat your Archmage, auto concede.
