Brief Overview and Play Tips
The problem with quest hunter right now is that having a lot of 1 costs makes you just a bad aggro deck so you loose to aggro (they just kill you faster than you can keep up) and you loose to control cus its to easy to wipe your board. This deck focuses on getting the quest later around turn 8 when you have a smaller deck and an easier time chaining the raptors. You can either play it early or what will also happen pretty often is playing it with a tundra rhino for a big ol' charge 8/8. Mulligan for a 3 drop and a 1 drop most of the time. Getting the firefly is always a good start if you go first because it always lets you maximize the mana you spend without emptying your hand. Also if your around getting your quest real soon and you draw Prince Keleseth then its usually worth it to save it but DON'T overvalue it and settle for unfavorable turns trying to get the "sick combo." Lastly and most importantly: Do not treat all the one drops like garbage and toss them out like lambs to the slaughter to try to get your quest off. They are your only tool for stopping the opponent from developing a board so you have to trade carefully and don't overextend but try to keep enough on the board to deal with possible threats your opponent puts out. Also, Deathstalker Rexxar and the raptors make for some huge board development in the first few 10 mana turns and your goal is for the board to be generally clear so you can start putting on some serious pressure via zombeasts, raptor onslaughts, or a N'Zoth, the Corruptor board fill. It is extremely difficult to set up if you allow them to have enough minions to make favorable trades on you when you start sending out the raptors and big threats so do all you can to clear the way for them!
what is your rank/winrate of this deck ?
Thanks for the feedback. I took out Tol'vir Warden in exchange for 2 infested tauren. I decided to keep the 2 tar creepers in there because of how much aggro tempo decks there are currently although I may replace one with an unleash the hounds as there seems to be more situations where it is actually useful now. I made the deck when it was big ez meta so it was pretty much a dead card during that time.
Fun deck. I enjoy the idea of a slower quest hunter that gets there eventually, but I do have a few recommendations that I think would improve the quality of your deck. Take out a Tol'vir Warden and replace it with something else, maybe an Animal Companion, Deadly Shot, or Unleash the Hounds. With as few of 1 drops as you are actually running compared to most Quest Hunters, the second one is both a redundant effect in addition to having a very weak stat line for a 5-drop. You'd never just tempo a Tol'vir, it's terrible. Additionally, the point to a N'Zoth is to give up a portion of early game tempo in favor of a huge board swing later in the game. The risk of this deck is being only slightly behind on board, playing N'Zoth, and having your opponent just ignore it and go face for a kill. For that reason, I recommend replacing your Tar Creepers with Infested Tauren, as it forces your opponent to interact with the board immediately upon playing N'Zoth.
