Hey everyone, I wanna share a deck I got legend with in this meta. It performed quite nicely from rank 5 to legend. It's pretty good against aggro, but struggles against priests and jade druids. If you are a fan of freeze mage kinds of decks, this is for you. Enjoy!

Here are some tips how to play this deck.

Card choice

Frost Lich Jaina This card gives you a lot of potential in late game and swinging games against aggro, it is one of your main winconditions. Though sometimes it's hard to find a turn to play Jaina, so you should setup quite empty board or have enough health+ Ice block to play it. There's no good replacement for Frost Lich Jaina, but you may try Pyroblast to give this deck more burn potential.

Alexstrasza It should be autoinclude in every freeze mage style of deck, it allows you to burn opponents out and gives a solid body, though in this deck it's used mostly for healing.

Megivh, The Guardian It's a really strong late game card that allows you to make huge board swings in late game against control and is one of your main winconditions against jade druids. There's no good replacement for it.

The Lich King One more incredibly powerful late game card. It is used in most of control decks atm because cards like Frostmourne or Anti-Magic shell can be game changing. Might be replaced with Pyroblast.

Cards, like Ice Block, Doomsayer, BlizzardPrimordial Glyph, Medivh's Valet are key cards for any control-oriented mage decks and cannot be replaced.

Why no Baron Geddon? I don't have it and flamestrike is better most of the time. Though if you have him, you may try (replace flamestrike).

Mulligans and strategy

Druid If it is aggro, it should be very good matchup for you because of amount of board clears you have. WARNING: they might have crazed alchemist, so sometimes frost nova+doomsayer combo doesn't work. Though if it does, you win 99% of the time. Token druid is a bit harder to beat because their board is a bit stronger and they have some removals, but it's also a good matchup. Jades are way more tricky to beat. Your wincondition is to setup a board, remove their taunts with spells and repeatedly freeze their board hitting face with minions. DON'T TRY TO BURN THEM DOWN, it's impossible. Doomsayer is very important in this matchup. You can even play him on the empty board on turn 7 to setup medivh or turn 8 for alexstrasza or frost lich jaina. Mulligans: Arcanologist, Frostbolt, Doomsayer, Blizzard (not more than 1), acolyte of pain, if you have arcanologist, keep Medivh's Valet, if you know it's jade, keep Medivh.

Hunter It's usually midrange, so try to clear their board, survive to turn nine to stabilize your hp with alex or death knight. Mulligans: Arcanologist, Frostbolt, Doomsayer, acolyte of pain, if you have arcanologist, keep Medivh's Valet,

Mage It's quest most of the time. I haven't played a lot of games against them but you try either burn them earlier their combo, which is tricky because deck is more board oriented, or try to fatigue them. which is possible for sure. Keep draw, also probably keep 1 frostbolt/doomsayer for aggro mage. I played against some elemental mages, but there're not many of them.

Paladin Any type of paladin is ok matchup for you, though most of them are aggro murloc palys. Keep doomsayers, arconologists, frostbolts - everything that helps to survive in early game. Some of them run spell breakers, so be careful with doomsayers. Control and otk palys are not that difficuilt either - you can outvalue them with Jaina. Try to not give coins to otk palys.. I know it's hard, but still..

Priest Really hard matchup, maybe even worse than jade druid. Most of them were big priests, which are nearly impossible to beat. Try to get Polymorph or Meteor from glypf, it's probably your only chance. Kazakus priest is also hard, but it's possible to outvalue him and sometimes even burn down. Mulligan for draw and doomsayer.

Rogue Miracle is quite easy to beat because there're a lot of freezes and removals. Though burning them down was easier than trying to play for value, but you have no pyro which is a great card for this matchup. There're some mill rogues but I haven't played with mage against them. Try to play for board and don't draw I guess. Mulligan for early minions and draw.

Shaman It's aggro most of the time. Quite good matchup because of freezes. Mulligan for early board control - minions, glyphs and frostbolts.

Warlock I haven't played a lot of games against them, but it looks hard to burn them down nowadays, so try to play for value. Sometimes they go quite low on health, so you should start pressuring them. Mulligan for draw and early minions. You can also play doomsayer turn 3 to deny Mountain Giant or twilight drake.

Warrior Who plays control warrior nowadays LUL. Mulligan for Doomsayer, Arcanologist, Medivh's valet. If they play southsea deckhand turn one, coin+ping is ok turn, you also ping over arcanologist then because of fiery war axe. If you were lucky enough to face control warrior, play for value - it's really hard to burn them without antonidas or pyroblast.

I hope this guide helped you. If you have any questions left, be free to add me in battle net Dinohunter#2836 and ask them. :)
