It sucks. It doesn't have enough card draw and loses to other aggro decks easily
Does anyone know what is Kolento's updated deck?
I saw him play Priest today against Zetalot and he was using Shade of Naxxramas, Sylvanas Windrunner and a bunch of other cards not in this deck, but I couldn't figure out the whole deck.
http://imgur.com/a/vO9DN#1 that's taken from his stream info.
This works extremely well, and is really really fun to play. Best usage of the Naxxramas cards so far that I've seen. Great deck, and winning 2/3 games at rank ~7/8
You don't need Holy Fire?
this deck makes absolutely no sense. there are literally 0 uses to wailing soul.
Are you kidding ?
Zombie Chow, Ancient Watcher, Dancing Swords, Death lord ?
zombie chow is better used with auchenai, ancient watcher and dancing swords, indeed. i'd replace dancing sword for blademaster tho, works WAY better as a 3-mana powerhouse. and a 2/8 that does nothing is pretty bad IMO.
I do agree with you that the preferred use of the silenced, are with Ancient watchers and dancing swords. But that was not what you wrote. You wrote that there literraly was no use. and there is.
I also agree with you that Injured blademaster better than Dancing swords, but again that was neither of us was talking about.
There are situations where you don't have your soulpriest and zombie chow at the same time. Also there might be situations where you have summoned the death lord, and you opponent then summon a big baddie, and you want to silence it so your opponent don't get a minion.
Wailing Soul, Auchenai Soulpriest -> Zombie
Wailing Soul Sunfury Protector, Defender of Argus -> Ancient watcher.
Wailing Soul -> Dancing swords
Wailing Soul -> Death lord
r u kiddin me? that is exactly what this deck is about
I want to like this deck but i kick ass in the beginning get them close to death then.. poof out of steam.. Fought a Hunter had him to 1 POINT and i had 22 and got nothing but usless cards all the others he swept right off the board.. Then rogue same thing but had him to 4 and i was at full health . then nothing.....the ancient watchers and the silence cards have not fallen together one time in the 15 games i have played so to me they are kinda useless cards what would be the best to replace them with?
I was having the same problem, so I adjusted a few things:
-2 Auchenai Soulpriest (I found I didn't need the board clear most games)
-2 Wailing Soul (Most of the time I got him I didn't want to use him)
+2 Mind Blast (was the finisher I was lacking)
+1/+1 SW:D/Second Silence (when I found the board a pain, it was usually 1 critter causing the problem, and these cards end that problem)
It is a little susceptible to midrange decks without the Soulpriest, but I find the taunts usually cover what I need.
Took out a Dancing Sword, which seems to me the weakest Death Rattle card, for a Shadow Word : Death, as I had problems facing AOW, Rag, Tirion etc. Having the removal helps, and no change to mana curve.
If people are having trouble at finishing off the opponent during the lategame, I think from that aspect, a mind blast would work or a holyfire for that matter. I just faced this deck a bit earlier and the enemy priest just couldn't beat my priest deck when I was at 8 health still (hence my idea of the mindblast/holyfire). It might just be that he played it wrong and I was lucky enough to draw into both circles and one holy nova and the soulpriests too (overextending vs. a priest who runs two unstable ghouls and a wild pyromancer). Otherwise, the deck looks pretty fun, probably still heavily under the experimental phase.
Would adding The Beast instead of cairne not work better with all the silences and stuff? silencing your own cairne hurts, or not play anything at all cause otherwise you will silence your cairne.
Go ahead and try it tell me how it works out =)
It's good and fun ( what else should one want ? ) But there's two problems : Lack of card draw, and too much combo, resulting in a dead end game where you see the 5HP opponent attack your face while you draw "Silence" and "Circle of Healing". When you fall back, there is no way to get back on tracks
Main draw engine is Cleric, if you can get a few draws from her early on, it's pretty decent. She's viable mid to late game as well when you have more mana. As for the combo aspect, Priest itself has always been reliant on combos, there's no going around that. The only solution to a board reset would be Auchenai+Circle, so use those cards wisely. You could also watch Amaz on Twitch to learn the class better.
why would you use the (undertaker), zombie chow, ancient watcher, deathlord, wailing soul combination on priest exactly?
So far I dont see any reason why a different class cannot make use of this combo, druid the first one that comes up in my mind
I don't understand Undertaker either, but at the same time Kolento is experimenting, so not everything is optimal. Zombie chow is good bc it's a huge body for one mana, yes, the downside is that it heals the opponent, but the Priest doesn't care about the extra health since Priest plays control almost all the time. Ancient Watcher can be combo'ed with Sunfury as big taunts to stop aggro early on, same goes for Deathlord, as Trump was playing 2 of them in his Priest deck last week and it got some popularity. I'm personally not a fan of Wailing Soul, more often than not it may be a dead card if the cards you have on the field do not require silence.
But overall, the reason why a different class doesn't make use of this combo is because most classes already have a solid core of minions to work with, and only needs to add one or two new cards from Naxx to improve. As for Priest, unfortunately, it has always been lacking with early game and threats, people are just trying to innovate the Priest class to make it a more of a threat and less of a grind to win by fatigue most of the time.
