Hi guys, my name is StanCifka and I am here with a brand new deck guide. If you are as excited to play with new cards as I am, then you came to the right place, as this Paladin deck is testing out all the sweetest cards that came out for aggresive decks.

General

This deck has extremely low curve, and as such its main goal is to end the game before you get to the deep lategame. You cannot let the board control run away from you, as it is very hard to get back with this deck with no removal or board clear. However, all your threats are super cheap and very sticky, so if you play your cards right, you should have board control from the first turn until the game ends, preferably by you dealing lethal damage.

Guide

You are more inclined to mulligan any card you can that is not named Prince Keleseth just because getting him early drastically increases your winrate. That being said, you are looking to keep all the good one drops in the deck, like Fire Fly, Righteous Protector, Argent Squire or Bloodsail Corsair and with any of these already in your hand you are happy to also keep Selfless Hero or Acherus Veteran. If you want to avoid getting unlucky with drawing Patches the Pirate, then make sure to check out one of my older memes here.

Other than that you really need to mulligan your expensive cards as developing your board very early is key to success with this deck.

Selection

There are SEVENTEEN cards that cost exactly 1 mana, although we are also counting Patches which is not a 1drop you want to see. You want to be very aggressive with this deck, and I think most of these are pretty self explanatory. Fire Fly and now Righteous Protector are one of the best one drops in the game, so they definitely deserve an inclusion. Acherus Veteran is also a new inclusion from Frozen Throne, and I am sure this guy will deliver.

And then there is a Young Dragonhawk. That is not a missclick while writing the decklist, this card truly is in the deck. As you probably figured out, it’s a concession to make Corpsetaker even more insane, as now you should be getting all 4 abilites when you play him. Other than that, this little dragon does actually work well with plenty of cards in the deck. All the buffs on him are sweet, play Blessing of Kings and attack for millions or use Blessing of Wisdom that will draw you two cards right away.

All these 1drops work very well with Prince Keleseth, card that is vastly underrated by community in my opinion. I guess it’s time to stop here for a minute and talk about this new legendary. First, he creates a huge constriction on your deck, no other 2drops in your deck is a big problem for most heroes. But what are we really losing in Paladin? Yes, I would like to play Hydrologist, but it’s not such a big deal. Second, he is a legendary, so you won’t draw him all that often, especially on turn 1 or 2 where he shines the most. There is not much you can do about this, just accept the fact that you will be playing a fair deck with fair winrate. Third, his effect is just insane. When you do draw him, your changes of winning should skyrocket. Every minion you draw from that point of game will be way above the curve, and with cards like Blessing of Wisdom you will dig for them faster and deeper. You will feel the power just after Patches the Bodybuilder arrives supersized for free.

Thanks to your deck being incredibly cheap on average, Divine Favor is extremely strong here, drawing you many more cards than Arcane Intelect for the same amount of mana. Without this card it would be easy for us to run out of steam, but Divine Favor together with aforementioned Blessing of Wisdom should solve this problem easily.

And last but not least, I would like to talk about another Frozen Throne addition, Corpsetaker. When building with this card, you need to make sure Taunt and Divine Shield every single time. With 5 shield and 4 taunt targets, that shouldn’t be a problem. After that the card is OK, and everything else is just icing on cake. Lifesteal is the hardest to come by, as only Wickerflame Burnbristle can deliver. Windfury has also few targets, only 2, but it’s a lot more than what I expected when I started building this deck. Overall Corpsetaker is a very solid card that works well alone and insanely well with any sort of buffs, and should stop any aggro right on the spot.

Changes

Right now, there are three 4card packages I am considering, and you can try any of them if you feel like it.

2 Blessing of Wisdom + 2 Selfless Hero is my current version, and I think it suits the “superspeed” gameplan the best. With all the divine shield minions, it’s quite hard to get rid of Blessing of Wisdom immediately, and if you can draw 2 cards out of it consistently then it’s great.

2 Truesilver Champion + 2 Dread Corsair is also very solid, it gives you extra pirates to get your Patches the Pirate out and creates a great swing on turn 4.

2 Sword of Justice + 2 Phantom Freebooter as they work extremely well together, and it might just be that playing 5/9 minion on turn 4 is just way too good and will make the cut. Problem with this package is that Sword of Justice doesn’t put enough pressure on your opponent early on, which is what you want to be doing no matter what.

That’s it for today, thanks a lot for reading! I Make sure to watch out for the deck guide that I made live on stream here.

Cheers
