Heroic Gluth's Paladin

Hi everyone, here is your weekly guide to Naxxramas' Heroic Bosses, and today we are dealing with the Construct Quarter's Gluth, the Zombie Eater. He has a strong hero power and a flood of deathrattle minions that will simply make him want to eat your face, but I think you and I both have other plans.

Background

Gluth is the a boss who eats leftover zombies according to Kel'Thuzad and you will see that happening in-game with his card Jaws. He will play many "cheapish" deathrattle minions, all of which will benefit Jaws, his 3/5 weapon, gain +2 attack for every one of them who dies. Scary, right? Well, he also starts off with an Unstable Ghoul and a Zombie Chow on his side of the board.

Strategy

  1. You want to mulligan for an Acidic Swamp Ooze to tackle a potential early Jaws, and you should also try to go for an Equality in case the board gets out of control.
  2. The point here is to control the board as early as possible using efficient trades due to all the Divine Shield minions you have and use his Gluth's own Unstable Ghoul and Abomination to wipe the board.
  3. Use Blessing of Wisdom and Blessing of Might when the coast is clear and you have an untouched Divine Shield minion. Don't forget however that you can use that Blessing of Might on any of Gluth's minions.
  4. Around mid-game, things may be getting tricky, but thats why you need that Equality. Equality+Unstable Ghoul is a force to be reckoned with.
  5. Once Gluth runs out of cards, you will have an easy time beating him. He will more or less play only one minion a turn whilst you can play two to three!
  6. Be careful though, try to save Equality and Wild Pyromancer in case things turn south. Sunwalker is another card you should hold on to, once the board is clear, he can force Gluth to attack him twice even with big buffs!

I won't lie, this deck has a hard time beating Gluth, but it is possible. I personally get a 50% winning rate and it is tough, because you need the right mulligan and the right draws. I think this deck can be improved, and I will be happy to add any suggestions and talk about it. Just remember that there are no achievements for losing to Gluth ;) Good luck!

If you are having troubles with the rest of the Construct Quarter check my other F2P decks out for PatchwerkGrobbulus or Thaddius.
