Game plan.

Against aggro decks our goal is to survive the early game and stabilize in mid to late game. At that moment aggro decks tend to be low on resources and it is not hard to win usually.

Against midrange and control decks we need to find Raza the Chained and Shadowreaper Anduin asap so we could start spamming the opponent's face and board with Voidform. It provides so much value that basically wins you the game.

But there are some decks that you usually can't beat that way. For example, Jade Druid. This deck has a lot of armor gain in it. Malfurion the Pestilent alone gives 3 armor a turn. And there are Ultimate InfestationFeral RageEarthen Scales. The last one isn't being played now but anyway. Or Elemental Mage. He plays Frost Lich Jaina and he has life gain for days, and he has an Ice Block.

This type of decks you can win only by executing a OTK combo. So, here the plan is the same but you should focus more on board control to not let them kill you. At the same time you can't let them have more hp than you can deal with by playing combo (it is 32 I guess, you can see it in possible combos). It doesn't work against Elemental Mage though. He'll always be at 30 hp. So, here you have to survive until the fatigue comes and then execute the combo to make him die to fatigue.

Possible combos.

All combos require Shadowreaper Anduin and Raza the Chained being already played. However, Prophet Velen into Mind Blast into Holy Smite is 14 dmg already and maybe there are some combos that don't require Raza the Chained.

Card explanation.

1 mana cards.

2 mana cards.

  • Mind Blast is a significant part of our OTK combo or just some damage to face, nothing more.
  • Radiant Elemental is a solid 2-drop to play on curve against aggro plus it is magnificent with Lyra the Sunshard as we all know. Also can be used as a part of the OTK combo.
  • Shadow Visions is one of the best priest cards cause it is very versatile: you can discover a necessary removal or an additional part of the combo from it.
  • Shadow Word: Pain needs no explanation.
  • Spirit Lash reminds Maelstrom Portal which is a very strong card, especially if it is combined with Bloodmage ThalnosSpirit Lash doesn't summon a minion on the board but it heals our face and helps us survive and this is our goal. Plus it can help us draw a card from Acolyte of Pain.
  • Acidic Swamp Ooze is a weapon removal and a decent 2-drop that fits the curve. If we compare it with Gluttonous Ooze i feel like it is better. If the meta is more control oriented then it can be cut for Harrison Jones for an additional card draw potential.
  • Bloodmage Thalnos is a card draw and it is very powerful with Spirit Lash - board clear and decent amount of healing.
  • Doomsayer is an excellent tempo breaking card against both aggro and control. Therefore it helps us to stall the game.
  • Loot Hoarder is a card draw and it fits the curve really good.

3 mana cards.

4 mana cards.

5 mana cards.

  • Holy Nova is an aoe and some healing as a bonus.
  • Lyra the Sunshard is kind of a taunt for your opponent that has an ability to win the game single handedly as it provides so much value, especially if it is played alongside with Radiant Elemental. Basically, it is another way to win if you didn't draw the parts of the combo. Also it can give you additional combo parts.
  • Raza the Chained is one of the key cards that enable the OTK combo and it is has good stats as a bonus.
  • Burgly Bully sponsors us with The Coin which can be turned into useful spells by Lyra the Sunshard or into the damage to the opponent's face if you play them in the OTK combo or you can play them to get tempo advantage by playing Obsidian Statue on turn 7 for example. Also it is a decent 5-drop that fits the curve very well. However, if the meta is aggro Burgly Bully should definetely be cut for Darkshire Alchemist.

6 mana cards.

Dragonfire Potion is a must-have card, very strong aoe, needs no explanation.

7 mana cards.

Prophet Velen is the essential part of the OTK combo.

8 mana cards.

9 mana cards.

Obsidian Statue serves the same purpose as Primordial Drake - stabilizing. Plus it is 2 or 3 for 1 card that is very valuable.

10 mana cards.

Latest updates.

  • 11.08.2017: Burgly Bully -> Darkshire Alchemist. I've played about 50 games today and noticed that the deck needs more heal to stabilize and Burgly Bully tends to be a dead card in the hand almost every game. So I decided to cut him for another card that solves this problem and fits the curve - Darkshire Alchemist. And it does very well.

  • 12.08.2017: Acidic Swamp Ooze -> Tar Creeper due to a plenty of aggro in ladder. Also updated game plan, replays, statistics and page navigation.

  • 14.08.2017: Trying Darkshire Alchemist -> Skulking Geist to counter jades. But since I have included it in the list all jade druids gone! This shows how powerful this card is, I guess, xD. I met only 1 jade druid in 10 games. In other matchups it is just 6 mana 4/6. I'll keep testing. Also added replay of the match with Elemental Mage. It is very demonstrative and I recommend you to watch it.
  • 15.08.2017: Jade druids disappeared! Met only 1 of them in last 15 games. Now I'm going to try Skulking Geist -> Elise the Trailblazer, cause now I understand that you need those extra cards from Un'Goro Pack. Also updated statistics.
