Hey guys, my name is Brambes123 and this is the first deck I ever created myself and posted.
I didn't invent Burn Mage, but I wanted to make my own version of it. So here it is.
I've been legend only 2 times, but I get rank 5 or higher every season.
What's special about the deck?
I wanted to have a higher chance to draw Alexstrasza before turn 9, so I put in The Curator and also a Stampeding Kodo and a Primordial Drake to make better use of the battlecry.
Replacements:
Harrison Jones: Gluttonous Ooze
Mulligan:
Look for Mana Wyrm, Arcanologist, Frostbolt, Volcanic Potion.
Never keep secrets!
If anyone has suggestions or different opinions, please feel free to comment.

Hello Misplay! Turnaround matchup against paladin, made a wonderful misplay at around 9 minutes in, went ok anyway :)
So i arrived at rank 4 now with my version of the deck. In the last days i found that secret mage became one of my biggest problems, lost like 90% in that matchup, so i replaced the 2nd firelands portal for an eater of secrets now.. Anyone else got an higher rank then 4 with the deck this month already?
Really fun & good deck:)
Played some Ladder with this deck just to try it out, felt strong and good. Im not used playing Mage at all but it felt good.
5 wins - 1 loss, and will probably play it a bit more later on!
Teched out Ice Barrier and added Eater of secrets.
Recorded July 17th, S40
Matchups:
0:08 Miracle Rouge
12:25 Shaman
23:40 Pirate Warrior
What about teching in eaters of secrets for mirror matchups...
Awesome Deck im playing it with +1 Firelands Portal, -1 Kodo and Meteor instead of Blizzard, im at 75% winrate (12-4) atm, climbed from rank 11 to 8 so far, started to play yesterday. Blizzard is a good card for sure, but there are just too many situations where i am happy like fuck when i have to deal with big minions and got meteor in my hand, and since we got only 1 sheep, this is needed even more to deal with them. About Kodo, sure its cool to make more use of Curators Battlecry, but the Problem i see here is that if you play Curator lets say at turn 7 or even later and you draw Kodo, at this Point of the Game you dont really can get much value out of the Kodos Battlecry anymore in the most cases. Overall i think Firelands Portal is just more versatile, especially since we also got Medivh in the Deck. Primordial Drake works just brilliant for sure and was the MVP in many matches for me already :D
Can i swap Harrison out for Gluttonous Ooze
Idk, can you read?
Replacements:
Harrison Jones: Gluttonous Ooze
I think it is just a bad match up, you can tech some cards in.
I would think along the line of Firelands Portal or more weapon tech.
Nice deck! It only has a few x2 so I turned it into Kazakus and it's still good. Thanks for the inspiration!
I don't that 9 2-off cards is 'few'. You will have a fair amount of the time that Kazakus won't trigger.
I mean, I replaced most of those 9 cards, only kept a duplicate Ice Block because the deck really doesn't work without it.
Hi! I just wanted to pop in and say that I've been trying this deck out and I am really enjoying it so far. When I started I was at rank 8 and now I'm rank 5. My win rate is 76%. I swapped Harrison (don't have him) for a Gluttonous Ooze but other than that didn't make any changes to the list.
In total I've played 17 games with this deck. I lost twice to mage (one had eater of secrets, the scum), once to Shaman, and once to Warrior. The Warrior was, of course, pirate warrior, and I almost made a comeback so I felt good about it. I'm finding that The Curator and Primordial Drake are MVP's with all the aggro. I only played once against Quest Rogue and I won but I got pretty lucky drawing a lot of my burn and just launching it at face every chance I got. Additionally, they used Vanish twice on a Mana Wyrm and Medivh's Valet, so that little guy got to do 9 damage. Haven't played against Quest Warrior at all, so I don't know how well that will go.
Anyway, just wanted to come by and say thanks for sharing the list! Much appreciated.
Hey dude!
I really love this deck. Its so powerfull against aggro decks and also really fun to have alex often before turn 10.
I was playing 20 games, with 15-5 right now (75%). I also climed from rank 18 to 13 in these 20 games.
I was playing classic gunther mage before, where it was just more rng like this one. I really like it....;)
Thanks for the finally list!!
How does this win against quest rogue and taunt warrior? I am seeing tons of them and it seems like there is no way to beat either one.
I've found the Medivh's Valets to be a major waste of a draw in my games. They are actually useful like 1 in 10 times I draw one and either sit in my hand without a secret on the board or are drawn when I've already used up my secrets and desperately need so real damage dealing spell. Swapped for the other firelands and a meteor.
Played two and lost two. Flattened by a quest warrior and a (of all things) a Dragon priest. How did others do against these decks with this one?
I'll keep going as I love the feedback this has received this far. Pointers appreciated.
