Even without reno Jackson, Kazakus is still an extremly powerful card. The decklist features tons of board control tools as well as a bunch of early game minions to fight back aggro. This is not handlock; tapping is still very important to get card advantage, but you will have to play your small minions in the beginning, especially against aggro. You can also use them to draw your opponents aoe/ removal in control matchups.

The deck features many lategame threats. Medivh is your main win condition, but Jarraxus and Ysera are also strong enough to win the game.

Against control decks with a lot of heal / removal,  the deck has high burst potential. If you can get the 8 damage potion from kazakus, you can unleash devastating combos with bloodbloom. In some matchups, boardclear is of course the way to go.

Burst potential:

Leeroy/Soulfire/Abusive = 12 dmg

Leeroy/Kobold/Soulfire = 12 dmg

Kobold/Bloodbloom/8 dmg kazakus potion/Soulfire = 16 dmg

leeroy/nightmare = 11 dmg

...

If your ysera survives more than one turn (most of the time in priest matchups), you can get incredible amounts of burst damage through the combination of leeroy with dream/nightmare/ysera awakens.
