About Me:

My names Addah and I am a relatively average HS player. I'm a student, so I don't have much time to play. As a result, I have never hit legend, however I normally finish a season between rank 10-5.

The Deck:

This season, I got to rank 5 (before I stopped playing ranked) which is the highest I have reached with a midrange/control deck. Previously, I have achieved rank 2 with Pirate Warrior. I created this list using a combination of already-successful Elemental/Jade Shaman lists as well as my own ideas of what could work. As of now, I am 15-7 with this version of the deck with a 68% winrate at rank 5.

Pirate Package:

I don't play many Pirates however I feel that the package is strong enough to help in the early game significantly. Patches the Pirate needs no explanation, and in this deck it doesn't matter too much if you draw him. Bloodsail Corsair is also a really strong card. Not only is a 1 mana 1/2 not bad stats but also it is great to remove 1 durability from a Fiery War Axe, Jade Claws or Eaglehorn Bow.

Jade Package:

The deck isn't supposed to be Jade themed although it is successful with a few. The cap is 6/6 stats as it features 5 Jade cards, one of which being Aya Blackpaw who is insanely strong. It must also be mentioned that Jade Lightning is great at removing any possible Golakka Crawler, so don't worry about that!

Elemental Package:

This is what its about! First of all, I have to say that I have fallen in love with Kalimos, Primal Lord as he is so versatile. I don't play too many Elementals as many of them rely on playing one the previous turn which is inconsistent. This is why I don't play Blazecaller. I have found Fire Plume Phoenix to be very strong and underrated, so i'd recommend it greatly.

Mulligan:

There are some universal cards which work against any deck:

Jade Claws

Maelstrom Portal

Fire Fly

Bloodsail Corsair

Primalfin Totem/Flametongue Totem (don't keep both)

Stonehill Defender

There are also some cards which are very situational such as Jade Lightning which should only be kept for more controlling match-ups such as Control Priest or Taunt Warrior. In addition, Hex and Hot Spring Guardian can be useful depending on how fast your opponents deck is likely to be.

Update 1:

Been busy with exams this season but i'm currently 14-1 and climbed to from rank 18 to 10 (with the exception of 2 Pirate Warrior games - so really 16-1).

Update 2:

Played this season for the first time today and went from ranks 19 to 15 with an 88.8% win rate (8-1).
