Hey guys,
Secret mage is so awesome at the moment! Go ahead and outsmart your opponent. Paladin wants to cast their Spikerigged steed? Oops, Spellbender! Tirion? Oops, It's a sheep!
Definiely give it a shot, and don't forget to bm to mess with their mind!
Mulligan:
Without coin: Babbling Book Kabal Lackey Mana Wyrm Arcanologist Keeping Primordial Glyph is fine if you already have decent cards in your hand. Medivh's Valet is a keep only if you already have the "ramp secret card" and a secret.
With coin: Same as cards without coin + Kirin Tor Mage
Keep secrets only if: The general tip is to keep secrets only if you already have already have Kabal Lackey or Kirin Tor Mage. But it's class dependent which ones u keep:
Druid: Mostly token/flood verisons, keep Spellbender Counterspell to catch their marks and AoE buffs.
Hunter: Potion of Polymorph is really the MVP in this matchup, That feel when it hits Highmane! But its good enough even on Kindly Grandmother. Keeping Counterspell is also fine.
Mage: Keep Counterspell only.
Paladin: Keep Spellbender to dodge their Blessing of Kings and Spikeridged Steed, Counterspell for the same purpose,
Priest: Keep every secret except Ice Block
Rogue: This is where secrets really shine, quest rogue has almost no chance to complete their quest. Counterspell Can even cancel their quest if played on turn 1 with Kabal Lackey. Potion of Polymorph can polymorph their "bounce quest" card. and Spellbender can easily take out their Shadowstep
Shaman: Keep everything except Ice Block
Warlock: I dont think that u'll ever meet one, but if you do it's going to be zoo, which is the same case as Token druid.
Warrior: Keep everything except Ice Block.
Gameplan and strategy
Get ahead early with your high tempo minions and then lock your opponent by playing secrets so they can't respond to your board.
For example against Taunt Warrior you try to play your Counterspell right when you think he's about to brawl your board, or if you have high statted minon which is damaged and you know he's about to execute, just place your Spellbender.
Overall, deck specializes on HUGE temposwings and mindgames. Don't play your Counterspell when u you know they started with The Coin and they still haven't used it. Try to always think ahead of your opponent, try to guess what is their next turn going to be and based on that you choose what secret you want to play.
I wish you a lot of funny moments and concedes of your opponents !

Check out this gameplay by Hearth Share !
It's a pretty good deck, just did my first game with it and of course it was a hunter that had flare or some minion with an effect to destroy all my secrets haha. I lost but gave that hunter a run for his money. Seemed to be a deck made specifically to counter this one. Word is getting out about this deck it seems. =P
like it so far... one less glyph and added pyroblast. which has been my win condition in every game thus far. otherwise, this is great!
ys, opponents always use some weak minions in their deck to test the secret. Spellbender is always better for me now, such as paladin play Spikeridged steed/Blessing of king and it also can protect my minion.I am keep wining with my deck recently(over90%winrate),you may check it out (click me) and i suggest you should keep changing some cards in the deck to counter some classes . Hope that help.
I was thinking, wow, I really like playing Hearthstone these days, especially priest. Then this deck hit the scene.
Guess I'll just play aggro again.
I hate this @&^# deck so much. It's the only one my Cancerdin can't beat right now.
>> Counterspell Can even cancel their quest if played on turn 1
Although, that's a giant LOLLOLOL. FU Rogues.
So you want to shut down Quest Rogue do ya? Mulligan for Kabal Lackey and Counterspell, if you go 1st, play the Lackey with Counterspell and if they don't use the coin and play The Caverns Below, Good Game my dudes.
Quests don't get countered by counterspell. Womp womp. :(
Yes you can.. i did few times
Omg, nice idea ^^
I believed you couldn't because I thought Brode clarified before the expansion came out that you couldn't counter a quest.
I was wrong. Womp womp womp :L
This deck is more cancerous than Pirate Warrior
Currently 20-6 with a 77% winrate at rank 7. It has been insane! Since I didn't have a prymordial glyph I replaced it with a Kabal Courier, but I really should just craft a second glyph. Would highly recommend this deck, although it takes some time to get used to.
Yeah no regret Craft Glyph first day of Un'goro
The best card of mage in standard now
I play the control-ish version of secret mage that incorporate medivh package. It fares well against midrange paladin, aggro paladin and taunt warrior. The most unfavoured matchup so far is the super control deck such as the quest priest and dragon control priest.
I wish Spellbender is worth the dust :/
thanks for uploading the deck, now I know what my opponents netdeck
no matter what i do, i cannot beat murlock paladin around rank3, spellbender doesnt save, they always have perfect draws.. other than that it is a good deck..
weak to decks like discard warlock and elemental shaman. lack of mirror image like other decks really questions the concept of calling this tempo
Outdated.
