Disclaimer: the decklist is not mine, it's a slightly modified list of a standard (I guess?) Quest Warrior.
So, I've reached Legend for the first time, never truly dedicated to grinding it out before...I've gone to rank 5 fairly quickly with various fun iterations of Lyra Priest, got stuck for a while at 5, overcame it with Midrange Hunter and then switched to Quest Warrior, which, a lot of people will say, is easy to pilot, but it really is not that simple (a lot of decks actually receive hate from people who haven't even tried it).
Stats
I started tracking my wins from rank 2 (no stars), and here are the results (3 games were played with Hunter, score of 1-2):
Freeze Mage 3-1
Warrior 7-3 (Pirate 5-3, Quest 2-0)
Midrange Hunter 4-3 (a lot of my missplays)
Druid 3-0
Warlock 1-0
Paladin 4-4
Rogue 4-3 (Garden 2-2, Quest 2-1)
Overall: 27-15
Gluttonous Ooze MVP!
I love this deck but I am really really struggling against murloc paladins. They swarm the board pretty easily almost in every game and by the time I brawl I am below 15 and then they take the board back next turn. Any help with that?
yeah, Murloc Paladin is a pretty tough matchup; as I've said, you pretty much have to remove mostly anything they put out early game (via Fiery War Axe, Armorsmith + Slam or Shield Slam etc.), the main thing being Murloc Warleader...AND save Brawl for big Sunkeeper Tarim turns, or strong boards in general. The big thing is to try and play as many Taunts as possible while not overcommiting to a Equality+Consecration/Wild Pyromancer combo...the Sulfuras hero power is very necessary in late game to fight and remove the big threats like Ragnaros, Lightlord. However, you also have to make sure you can remove most (if not all) of the little dudes when you hit the hero power - of course, sometimes you just have to take that 25% or 33% chance it hits the right target...
Also, be careful of Stampeding Kodo; it's best to bait it out with Bloodhoof Brave before playing Alley Armorsmiths...
I can't offer any more help of the top of my head; the matchup is very hard tbh, but not unwinnable. If you're facing a lot of Murloc Paladins, you could maybe try teching in 1 or 2 Hungry Crabs, probably in place of Armorsmiths? But I didn't really test it, don't know how would it affect the other matchups.
(I responded similarly to @kntch54 in the comment below yours)
How did it happen that the winrate against the paladin: 50%? I out of 10 matches won only 1 (!), against the paladin. What's the secret? :)
Ps. Rank 3
Well, the sample size is only 8 games, so its hard to tell if its only luck of the draw and RNG, but I usually mulliganed for Winaxe/Armorsmith, other removal to keep their board as clear as possible and was very, very patient with Brawls...tried to rush for the quest simultaneously and fire away hoping to get the key minions like Lightlord...hard matchup all in all, yeah
