General
So this is one of my favourite decks of April 2017 - the epitome of value. Its versatility lets you adapt (haha pun plz kill me) to different playstyles and win many many games. As a control deck, it's very good against aggro and face decks (yes, I'm looking at you, Pirate Warriors). Against other control decks you often have the edge with swing turns from N'Zoth, the Corruptor and Medivh, the Guardian.
Matchups
Against aggro you're favored due to board clears like Volcanic Potion, Blizzard, Flamestrike, Doomsayer, Kazakus spells. and the heals from Mistress of Mixtures and the powerhouse card Reno Jackson. Additionally there are important taunts like Deathlord, Tar Creeper and Sludge Belcher. All in all you can often survive till you stabilize or hit the Reno. When you face aggro, Mulligan everything away that costs more than 2 mana or isn't Reno/Kazakus. The low mana curve (16 cards for 3 mana or less) lets you consistently play cards in the early game to buffer the aggression.
Against Combo Decks you have the Ice Block. You can get it from Mad Scientist or the Arcanologist.
When you face Control Matchups you can relax as you got your N'Zoth, the Corruptor and your 10-mana Kazakus Spell, filling your board two times with big minions. Try to play Deathlord as soon as possible to draw out an important minion from your opponent. If you're lucky you can Duplicate a high impact minion like Ragnaros the Firelord or Sylvanas Windrunner. Medivh, the Guardian comboed with a boardclear allows huge tempo swings in the later stages of the game and often pushes for the win. An occassional Polymorph can save your ass against other N'Zoth decks.
Card Choices
It's fairly obvious that we want to play the strongest deathrattle minions there are. At the same time we want to keep the mana curve low, so we we have more freedom in our turns. I didn't include Brann Bronzebeard in this deck since there are too few Battlecry minions. But you can try a different, Battlecry oriented style without N'Zoth like in my Battlecry Reno Mage. That deck has even more value at the cost of tempo.
Conclusion
This deck works at all ranks. I even got to legend with it thanks to all the Pirate Warriors on March 2017 (without Ungoro cards) and April 2017 (this decklist).

Feel free to ask and comment. Have fun and don't stop believing!
Dude, idk if you still really playing this deck but I have to say that in current state it's just horrible. Dont get me wrong: I still think that N'Zoth, the Corruptor has some potential, but...
You dont have ANY heal other than Reno Jackson whatsoever. "But hey, there is so many taunts..." Yeah. And currently there is shitload of Razakus Priests on ladder right now. They just DONT CARE about taunts in general. Not to mention silence, removals and things like that.
Other than that you have Duplicate instead of Ice Barrier. Do you need this extra value all THAT much? I think not.
And finally there is SIX (!!!) high cost cards in the deck, which requires some setup to be effectively played. It's just INSANELY greedy.
Maybe I'm just too bad of a player to see the genius of this decklist, but seems like it's just completely unrefined right now.
50% of the time, all the time.
I'm fully aware that the battlecry version of Reno Mage has more potential value and I'm happy like an unicorn you're doing so well with all the extra Kazakus Potions. Yet, at the time I was playing this deck (March, April), I needed a faster variant of Reno Mage (and not one that could produce infinite Potions) and this deck did just fine against aggro druids and pirate warriors. In a control meta I, too, might play the Brann battlecry variant.
And step up your memes, son!
Is this the first mage deck without Fireball?
can i add you to spectate some games?
I thought Barnes or Manic Soulcaster might be good in this deck to replace pyros?
which one you think is better?
Sorry mixed up Barnes and Brann in my head. Barnes is better, only 5 bad minions to summon! :)
Thanks!! I really love this deck
I think I'll play it forever haha
Hey~ I used your deck to R6
It's pretty awesome!
but I dont have Pyros
is it really worth to craft it?
I dont have much dust :(
so I always use them carefuly
Hey Morrowind, I actually don't have Pyros, too :D. It's not worth to craft him only for this deck, it works just fine without it.
If you face slow decks, you can put in any high value card for it, like Dr. Boom or a third secret like Effigy, Mana Bind. When you encounter fast decks, put in Arcane Blast, Gluttonous Ooze, Mind Control Tech, Ice Barrier. Forbidden Flame works too. Just anything, really :D
Yeah meta slowed down and not so many Pirate Warriors anymore, I update the deck list.
It's nice but too greedy - difficult to overcome those aggro decks. i cut dr. 7 and Ragnaros for Babbling Book and Pyros(Pyros in control match-ups wins you tons of value with N'Zoth).
And now, on rank 4 I cutted Bloodmage Thalnos & Shimmering Tempest for Bran Bronzebeard and Kabal Courier to add some more potential value for this deck.
Thanks for your comment hali, i don't have Pyros yet, but it's definitely fitting! Depending on what you face on the ladder it may seem too greedy, but i felt like meta got a bit slower (just played a few games at legend since expansion, don't know yet)
I'm not a friend of Brann in this deck, as it's a deathrattle deck, so it's specifically for the Kazakus, but i can see the value of getting a second 10 mana spell if it works. Since many people run Dirty Rat it's pretty hard to pull that combo off, though.
Hope you get to legend, have fun!
