Card Explanations:
Backstab - Staple in almost all Rogue decks. Helps with early game and favourable trades later on in the game.
Preparation - Staple in almost all Rogue decks. Preferably used with Crystal Core and Vanish. Use early against faster decks.
Shadowstep - Helps complete the quest. Can also be used later in the game with the amount of Battlecry minions this deck.
Fire Fly - Good early game minion. Good Battlecry for bouncing. Flame Elemental from this card and Igneous Elemental allow for easy quest completion and saving the bounce cards for later in the game.
Glacial Shard - Best card against aggro decks like Pirate Warrior. This is your main card against big threats like Edwin VanCleef. Normally used to stall before you complete the quest.
Patches the Pirate - Works well with Southsea Deckhand and Swashburglar. 1 Mana 5/5 Charge after the quest. Can be used as a finisher if bounced many times.
Southsea Deckhand - Works well with Patches the Pirate. 1 Mana 5.5 Charge after the quest. Can be used as a finisher if bounced many times. Can also be used early game against faster decks.
Swashburglar - Works well with Patches the Pirate. Good Battlecry for bouncing. You might want to bounce this card against certain classes, such as Mage, Warrior, Rogue. The reason why is because there are plenty of cards you can get from them that can help.
The Caverns Below - Rogue Quest. The deck is built around this card. This is your win condition.
Eviscerate - Good early game removal. Staple in almost all rogue decks.
Gadgetzan Ferryman - Helps complete the quest. Can also be used later in the game with the amount of Battlecry minions this deck.
Novice Engineer - Card draw! Good Battlecry for bouncing. You probably want to bounce this card against slower decks to cycle as much as possible.
Youthful Brewmaster - Helps complete the quest. Can also be used later in the game with the amount of Battlecry minions this deck.
Igneous Elemental - Flame Elemental from this card and Fire Fly allow for easy quest completion and saving the bounce cards for later in the game. Good card to play against AoE.
Mimic Pod - Gives you duplicates. At first I wasn't a fan of this card because of how slow it was. But after playing with/without it I have come to believe that this is a staple for this deck. If you land something crazy like a Shadowstep with this card then the game is already over. And of course... card draw!
Vanish - "Why are you playing Vanish without Coldlight Oracle?" In the previous version of this deck, I did in fact have Coldlight Oracle. However I noticed that if I drew Novice Engineer or Mimic Pod early, then the Coldlight Oracle would just be sitting in my hand. I don't like cards that just sit in my hand. Also, fuck Fan of Knives for AoE. Doesn't kill shit and it's probably going to draw you a Backstab anyway.

i really dont understand how the quest works
how can i change the minion that is written in the quest?
You don't need to change anything at all. You just play ANY minion with the same name 4 times from your hand. You can play a minion, then bounce it back into the hand twice, draw another copy of the same minion and that will count towards the quest completion. You can generate 4 Flame Elementals and play them all and also complete the quest.
If you want to change the name written in the quest just play another minion more times than you played the minion that is already written there.

you should express your feelings in the salty thread

Didn't play the deck but Vanish seems so costy. Any good reasons why to play this?
Got a golden Caverns Below so may as well try the deck since it seems strong, thank you for the guide.
Tried out the revised version and I don't like it as much as the original version... Seems too slow IMO... I didn't have issues before completely the quest so I don't think the elementals are needed to help with that... And the lack of the charge minions makes it a little too slow... I've won lots of games because I'm able to keep bouncing the charge minions to either have lethal or clear someone else's board... I switched back to the original version but I'm trying a second Mimic Pod instead of the Edwin VanCleef...
elemental / coldlight version is better against taunt warrior? been facing lots of taunt warrior recently
Do things come in waves or something, I once hit 3 hunters in a row, then I hit 3 priest in a row once, and then I hit 2 quest warriors in a row once. What is wrong with the game's algorithms?
... ok, with the new revisions I seriously have a deck that looks just like this except I had coldlights instead of vanish, and mine gone ranked down to -6. If this doesn't get ranked down from the new revisions, I will be calling foul play.
Coldlight is better against control decks usually, although once again you kind of pad their arsenal as well. Fan of Knives is what most people use. Which if they aren't playing aggro, doesn't help a ton. So meh, that's your biggest replacement if you want.
Ohhhhhh my bad, Oracle fits right in that Glacial Shard spot. Soooo yaaaaaa, I'd say get rid of 1 of two different things maybe. And then do Fan Of Knives or Coldlight Oracle.
Apparently you would actually replace Mimic Pods
take out the elementals, put in 2 x coldlight and 2 x boar
Turn 7/8 over 30dps on board. Thanks Blizzard, a job well done...
Had a priest do that with 40 damage on one character by turn 6...
But priest can do it, current rogue is doing it on regular basis.
Given, I think that Rogues are a weird class that should be reworked in general, especially since pretty much EVERY other class has a legit board wipe except these guys... In any case, don't actually understand your statement.
No WanCleef?
