Strengths

Poison cards completely counter the rogue's value gained from the crystal core, makes for a trade every time in your favor, the wasp is especially good because it is stealth-ed

Secrets cause the rogue to hit things they don't want to hit giving you more time to close out the game, they reduce minions that they drop to 1 hp after they are summoned making them easy to take care of

Equality + wild pyro is a full board clear every time

Dirty Rat can pull their combo card from the hand and than you can use the giant wasp to kill it, or another means 

Mana wraith slows them down early on forcing them to spend resources to kill it and skip turns

Spike-ridged steed makes any minion with 3 attack dmg trade favorably with the crystal core minions causing them to use 2 minions to kill the buffed minion and than they need to deal with the 2/6 taunt it spawns. just great value
