Latest Edit:
Alright so this has been probably been the biggest edit to the deck as of yet. I've made the decision of taking out Mana Tide Totem as well Tidal Surge and replace them with Jade Claws and Jade Lightning.
I feel the deck was in a good place but its definitely lacking in consistency as well as board presence. These two changes have been tested and are a great improvement. The ramp effect of Jade Golem helps surviving mid to late game as well as putting more minions on the board. Having a weapon in the deck helps to keep the opponents low mana minions off the board to assist in having more board presence earlier on.
Basic overview:
Unite the Murlocs Main objective of mine was obviously completing the quest so I decided to add in as many Murlocs as I could without completely destroying the deck.
8 base Murlocs without counting the discover cards Primalfin Lookout, Call in the Finishers or the Primalfin Totem cards. Assuming you don't get counterspelled, with all of the other cards used at least once there's at least 20 Murlocs you can summon. More depending on how well Primalfin Totem does.
The deck has a few board clears, direct damaging spells like Jade Lightning. As well as some heavy removal with Hex.
Healing cards in general are strong and kind of rare in Hearthstone. The addition of Hot Spring Guardian works well with probably any Shaman deck.
I want say a special thank you to everyone who's commented on ideas to improve the deck. The decks first rendition was just something I kind of threw together and ended up working out okay. Since then its turned into a really fun and powerful deck because of you guys. Thanks again and I'll be sure to stick around to see what other great ideas you come up with along with some of my own hopefully!
i think that murloc tribe is strong enough to be played alone. Not in an hybrid deck.
Quest need a lot of murloc, gentle megasaur need a lot of murloc, you don't have enough. Some games you will not end the quest.
For this facts i think a full murloc shaman deck is better. check this out
murloc quest s37 to legend
i get easy legend last season with a stupidly high winrate. check it out
i dont think it's about it being a "hybrid deck". I think it's about getting value out of the 2/2 weapon and the 4dmg spell, summoning a free minion to make your bloodlust stronger
This deck is way too inconsistent. Having no luck with it whatsoever at rank 6. Now I'm rank 9. Time to climb back up with my other shaman murloc list.
Which other Murloc deck is that?
Took out one Hex and added Aya Blackpaw instead. Now it's very similar to the previous aggro shaman - there's a jade package for value and ramp (and the inclusion of jade claws/jade lightning which are busted) and there are a series of strong, small synergistic minions. Blood lust and flametongue provide a bunch of ramp, and in a lengthy matchup finishing the quest allows you to have one final push for victory. Climbed to rank 3 so far.
I think Old Murk-Eye has more uses then Maelstrom Portal
Possibly, but this is a standard deck and Old Murk-Eye isn't legal.
How about adding Spirit Echo to the deck? A second Megafin might be pretty nice
That's one of the only good outcomes, unfortunately. Your opponent should be dead shortly after dropping Megafin only once. It could also be good on a board with at least a Warleader or Megasaur and a bunch of (non-token, ideally) murlocs, but to get that consistently you need more draw, and Spirit Echo won't help you get there. Not to mention, you would already be winning in that case.
I'm finding lots of success using bloodlust instead of jade lightnings. The jade lightnings are just too slow, while bloodlust almost always allows for you to trade effeciently and still go face. While obviously bloodlust loses to board clears, so do murlocs in general. Blood lust is also much more effective against taunt warrior, as a board of 1/1's can wipe even the strongest taunts.
IMO not enough murlocs & way too much removal for no reason. If you waste 4 mana on Jade Lightning, or wiped a board with Lightning Storm, you've pretty much screwed yourself.
You need to accept the fact that Taunt Warrior is a poor matchup for the same reasons its a poor matchup for aggro in general, so you'd skip the medium clears all together. Treat the deck like Zoo and you're going to start heading in the right direction play-wise.
Flametongue isn't good to top deck and neither is Hot Spring Guardian, especially when you're going for the quest completion on T6-7 (which is when your hand is almost empty).
play Finja, the Flying Star next turn Murloc Warleader + Spirit Echo
The shit is not the deck, the shit is in front of the monitor
i went 16-8 with it, rank 5 atm with it, if you want add me rocha#1949 ;)
I'm slightly interested, how your battle was finished?
Any ideas on subs for the gentle megasaurs? I can't bring myself to disenchant any more stuff :(
Buy more packs
Possibly a Sated Threshadon? Better body and more Murlocs. An effect similar to Gentle Megasaur is hard. I'm kinda in the same boat as I only have 1 Gentle Megasuar. Maybe a Mana Tide Totem? Those things act like pseudo-taunts and Murloc decks can always use more card draw.
I've had the most success with your updated version over the other top new murloc decks. My suggestion would be to cut a gentle megasaur for a second maelstrom portal.

Does the hero power after playing the card above trigger the quest?
Sorry wrong post. I thought its a shaman card. my bad
Thanks
