I don't have any GvG cards and thus lack Explosive Sheep. After much struggle, I settled on Shaman and came up with this. This deck relies on Devolve and Hex to remove big threats and buffs, while using Jade to get big minions into play. The rest of the deck contains a lot direct damage to remove threats and healing to survive. It will take some luck since you have to draw your cards right and hope he doesn't top deck too many spells.

TL;DR Ideal Opening

  • Nothing
  • Jade Claws (don't attack)
  • Devolve
  • Jinyu Waterspeaker
  • Lightning Storm

Missing A Card?

Bloodmage Thalnos can be used to guarantee 3 damage on a Lightning Storm, or can be traded in hopes of top decking a good answer. The most obvious replacements are Kobold Geomancer or Loot Hoarder. If you don't have Aya Blackpaw, Brann Bronzebeard can allow you to get an additional Jade or two from your second Jade Claws or from a Jade Spirit. However, directly replacing these utilities is not necessarily important. You could include Earthen Ring Farseer, or Refreshment Vendor for additional healing, or more card draw such as Coldlight Oracle (scary to give him cards, watch out for damage spells), Ancestral Knowledge, or Loot Hoarder. Hallazeal the Ascended is a good investment on turn 6 if you have him.

Opening

Mulligan for Devolve to deal with the immediate pressure. Restart if you don't get Devolve from your mulligan, or by turn 3 when you can play it.

It is very useful to have Jade Claws in your opening. Weapons can be played on any turn and the 2 damage can be used in conjunction with spells to finish off minions in the early game. It's unlikely that you'll get a valuable trade from the first jade, but each jade makes the next better.

Midgame

The next step is to find your healing. Jinyu Waterspeaker makes for an excellent turn 4. Jade Spirit is also quite good since you can likely survive a couple more turns of face damage and the 2 minions can help deal with the board. Lightning Storm is ideal for turn 5 to finish off the devolved minions and damage whatever else has been played.

At this point you should have board advantage but the game is not yet won. You'll have to draw enough healing to stop the bleeding, and enough damage to remove threats. Using a Fametongue Totem in conjunction with your hero power can make for a renewable damage source, but be wary of his secret - Dart Trap.

Snowballing

You should be able to fill your board, at which point you can trade in your small minions for larger Jades. Keep healing or hoping he doesn't top deck Crackle or Starfire, then gg!
