The whole purpose of this deck is to blow your opponent up in the very first turn. To do this, you need to mulligan hard for Ancestor's Call, Gadgetzan Auctioneer, and whatever card draw you can get. Once you have these, drop Gadgetzan with AC, and spam spells on your opponent's face until they die. Two games I played I managed to OTK my opponent first turn because I drew into this. Another game I managed to amass a couple spells by T4 and use AC with Malygos. Because your spells are so mana-efficient, we're able to burn a bit of our health drawing as well.
Mulligan: Ancestor's Call, Gadgetzan Auctioneer, Malygos (if you have AC and some spells or draw), Ancestral Knowledge (ALWAYS KEEP).
Healing Wave has the awesome ability of keeping you up while you draw more. Definitely a nice card.
Be mindful of your time! I've found myself running out of time in my turn because I've used the full 90 seconds to keep drawing and burning. Finders Keepers can really burn your time if you use it at the wrong time to be aware of that. I also learned the hard way not to double Auctioneer as you can burn your hand and also waste your turn continually drawing. THIS DECK IS NOT PHONE FRIENDLY as most of my games require me to go over the rope with constantly spamming cards.
This deck is not a guaranteed win! It can OTK on T1 but it depends all on your mulligan. You can still win later in a game but there's a lot of other decks that can push wins quickly too so watch out.
Part of my joy in playing this deck is watching all those Paladins and Mages copying the top deck being able to do nothing as they lose right away.
This is an amazingly fun deck and I thank the author for putting this together/up! I loved it so much, I thought I'd put up some tips even if it's a tad late.
The combo is pretty inconsistent as you need both Ancestor's Call and Gadgetzan Auctioneer/Malygos for it to work. That being said, it does happen to work out surprisingly often and is so satisfying when it does.
When it does work out, move FAST as you rope very easily. As the poster said, it is not phone friendly but I was playing exclusively on my phone and had pretty good results (only roped out of lethal once in about 20 wins so far, but they were all close calls).
As the poster said, the goal is to hard mulligan for Ancestor's Call AND Gatgetzan Auctioneer/Malygos (preferably Auctioneer); Ancestral Knowledge is a good keep as it is 2 cards for 1. Auctioneer is ideal as you can basically go infinite, but Malygos can be really good when your opponent already sacrificed life or with the right cards in your hand (Lava Burst, Crackle, Jade Lightning).
As for replacements, there are some decent options. All the burn cards are necessary as well as the Ancestor's Call-Auctioneer combo, obviously, but the rest are relatively replaceable. I really wish I had another Healing Wave and Far Sight as the heal really helps out in many situations and card draw is essential if you don't luck into both combo cards. I also did not have Finders Keepers, which I assume would good for finding more burn and draw.
Some good replacement I found are any low cost spells that don't require minion targets for Auctioneer cycle (I used Devolve and Maelstrom Portal), or even Barnes. I had good success putting Barnes in, as he always gets either Malygos or Auctioneer out on turn 3-4; being a one-of, he has never screwed up my Ancestor's Call. I also considered Madam Goya, but I found it would be nearly impossible to pull off as you would need a totem to stick AND last to turn 6; I found if you don't hit the combo by turn 4 you are just dead.
I also considered Violet Illusionist, but it might get pulled from Ancestor's call, and isn't as immediately impactful as Barnes. Including it as a one-of might be okay if you don't have Healing Wave, but Healing Wave is much more valuable as you don't need mana to cast it and it can cycle with Auctioneer.
This deck has given me some of my most fun times playing Hearthstone, so thank you WhatAChamp and I encourage you all to try it out before the brawl ends!
Thanks for the tips on there! I agree with a lot of what you said and I'm glad you enjoyed the deck
Fun OTK! I put in a Violet Illusionist and its working so far.
Seems like a pretty decent tech option. My only worry is that Ancestor's Call would pull it instead of Auctioneer. Do you find yourself being lowered often? I find Healing Wave to help out for the most part.
Amazing Deck!!
Well Played
Glad you like it!
