Saw this deck many times in replay-videos - it was highlighted A LOT. Yesterday Toast released a video about this deck with a decklist. So I tried it out. And it is really Fun. Mainly, because people don't expect it. And it requires a lot of brain to - and math :)
But still. You should try it.
Upd. Toast made another video about this deck, showing, how complex it is and how hard it is sometimes to pilot it. By the way, you can see, he's scoring above 60% win-rate with it in his deck-tracker.
P.S. Have been told, that this deck origins belong to RageHs. So a big shoutout it to him and let his creativity never die.
Play it and don't care? :)
What I did was just to stall by encouraging agro to trade with me. Throwing out a pyromancer will always get a trade and Northshire will get one fairly often. That stuff can buy you a turn or two. Ultimately against agro you need to draw pretty hot to get your combo quickly. Often you don't need all the pieces as they will face weapon into your minions and help you out a bit.
I beat a couple of agro decks playing it by coming out on turn 6/7 but my opponents got modest starts in those games. Agro going on all cylinders... well you can stall them a while but you have to throw combo cards to do it so you loose eventually anyhow.
One trick that helped a time or two was throwing inner fire on Doomsayer when I had more than one inner fire in hand. It can effectively guarantee the board kill even if they have trades to take it out.
I feel Tallonpriest is optional in this deck. It's a good sized 3 drop, but the ability rarely came in handy, perhaps in one game where I dropped him on a pyromancer. A straight removal card might be better in that slot, or a one drop that can contend the board. Circle / Soul priest could go, but Circle does have good synergies and if you have that, Soulpriest is good to have so I kept them in.
Wow, You are really good in explaining and guidance.
It was very fun when I crushed my first opponent with 55 damage to the face.
Then I lost 11 games in a row.
Thumbs down for this deck, although it's very original with the Djinni.
So you only value decks by it's competitive power?
Your answer makes no sense.
Where did I say I was playing competitive?
I'm giving you my honest opinion on this deck. If you lose more than regularly, the fun drains out. That's pretty much basic in every game. If the winrate is like 40% or such, it's fine. But 11 losses in a row is just too much.
You cannot do anything against decks with high speed like Pirate warrior or murlock decks. There is no comeback either, as there is no way to heal up fast.
All you can do is pray you will manage to survive till turn 8 or so and be ready to have the pretty hard combo
Hold-up. You call murloc-deck a fast deck? So I guess, it's not Anythin-Pally. So what rank are you playing at?
This deck is not about ranking up. And - yes - pirates is it's main weakness. But it does crush most reno-decks. And those are really more in lower ranks.
Funny how you mention not to value decks by competitive power and later on you ask me what rank I play.
You obviously cannot take critics... I'm playing at ranks 5 to 8 usually.
I know I'm not the best player but I'm also not the worst.
I'm also that guy that does not play the best decks, as I see them too many times already. That's why I got triggered by this deck and even crafted cards for it. Simply because I like the idea of the deck. It just doesn't work out well enough.
If you don't want honest critics, don't write up posts... I gave you thumbs up for the creativity on Djinni but I guess you only need the negative parts.
This is not my deck, so I don't really take your critics personally.
The mention of rank was because I have no single idea, what Murloc decks you meet at 5-8 ranks, that are Fast. And I'm really-really curious - for real. I have lost sight of something in this meta.
You started with negativity, saying "Thumbs down", so I just asked you a question. In no point of this conversation I tried to offend you or neglect your criticism. Sure. Give it to me. It just looked, like you valuing this deck for it's competitive abilities, which are obviously low.
Interesting. I've been playing with a very similar deck, except that I was taking it in the direction of using Shadow cards to deal damage and use the Pint-Size Potion interactions as a flexible type of board wipe/finish sort of like Blade Flurry used to be used for
I'll have to give this list a try and see how it plays out.
Weird brain twister - If Djinni of Zephyrs is reversed by Confuse, does it then copy the effect of its neighbors and become UNconfused again?
Nope, Djinni works only for targeted spells casted by "you". Confuse behaves as expected.
Confuse is an aoe-spell.
How do you beat a mage with ice block. If you make a really big toon you have it for one turn then they would have it correct?
Mostly you don't. But sometimes you just make a semi-big minion and hope, it doesn't die instantly, so you punch him in the face for couple of times.
I had a good time with it. It's a satisfying combo but you really are at the mercy of drawing it in a timely fashion. The real problem is you need so many cards to pull it off and you can't use them for your defense or you have no way to win the game. So you have to just take it in the face and try to trick your opponent into playing trades with any non-critical minions you play so that you can have more time to collect the combo.
Sometimes too many taunts from shaman is also a problem. One taunt is usually no problem, two or more and things can get iffy.
None the less I got my combo pretty often playing in casual and at rank 10. I'd say my win rate was around 40% which was enough for me to really dig it. I even had a great streak starting out and combo won in my first 3 games.
The best was up agaisnt reno warlock who saved up for a big twilight drake turn 4... My eyes light up and I made sure to not let him damage it too much. I suspect he was confused until I smacked him down with a 26/26 and a 38/38 on turn 8 while he was at 28 health. It's a nice deck for the beatdown quest as you can do some serious over kills with it.
Like your spirit. And I have the same affection for this deck :)
Only one tiny thing - it's Twilight Drake, not Azure Drake. Sorry.
Oops, thanks!
Lost to this deck yesterday with a 24/24 acolyte of pain .The salt was real!
Salt is the main target of this deck.
RageHS should be in the title not the discription. So he can get that front page love.
