Wanted to try good old cancer paladin in the pirate meta? You can be the meta!
Light's Justice is here to buff Buccaneers as well as to help fighting for board in the pirate mirror.
Of course the sickest play here is to do Sword of Justice before playing your first pirate if possible, but try doing this only vs control, since you'll be needing the manpower in the mirror. This is specially the correct play in any case if you have the coin.
Small-Time Recruits and Divine Favor are your hand refills, but of course STR is more straightforward (and also playable in tandem with the former) - the deck has 9 one-costed minions, so you can slam them on table, and given you probably have one of the 5 weapons equipped, 2 of them are charging straight to the opponent's face.
Good old Knife Juggler makes a comeback for extra damage against control and as a board clear vs pirates - specially with the Patches package. And it's sick with Small Time Recruits.
I'm still undecided on the amount of Consecrations - so far one to fight shamans and pirates. Maybe knock that number up.
Uldaman is for the control matchup, dealing with Taunts and what not. At the worst case, you can buff one of your minions.
Time to face them off!
I'd definitely add Wickerflame in there, and probably swap Light's justice for Rallying blade. Also I'd never mix Divine favors and Small time recruits. Go for one of the two and open up one slot. Dread Corsair also makes sense if you swap Light's justice and 1 sword of Justice for 2 Rallying blades.
Let me know how Wickerflame fares! I really only didn't use him because I don't own the card, but sounds good, specially if you have Sword of Justice online.
Also nice tip about Divine Favor and STR.. maybe I'll have a 1:1 ratio, since I really like how STR is performing in the deck (specially when in need of chargers, you probably will get at least one Deckhand from it, so that you can buff it with Blessings right away).
S.T.R and Divine Favor are two different beasts. In your deck, I'd go for Divine Favor. S.T.R is better if you run Smuggler's Run and Grimestreet buffers, that need minions in your hand.
I'm not so sure.. That's a great play but it's also a value oriented one.. while in this deck it's used to swarm the board back again. Useful vs shamans or control decks, and there are other synergies with it in this deck, like Deckhand with weapon in hand, or Sword of Justice.
But nonetheless, worth trying either way, the deck can always get more and more refined.
Surprisingly pretty good. On a good win streak now. Didn't feel like crafting small-time recruits so I replaced with another concecration.
Awesome :) with 2 Divine Favors I don't think you'll be missing much from STR!
I also thought of cutting one Sword of Justice for the second Consec!
