Murlocs got an amazing boost in MSoG and here is why: Call in the Finishers combo with a low-mana/free all minion +2/+2 Everyfin is Awesome is an "I win" button as soon as turn 4-5. This shaman murloc deck is a lot of fun and wins! Lots of aggro synergy and only 3 mana needed for a quick early board clear if necessary with 2 Lightning Storm
Strategy: Mulligan for low cost murlocs and keep Call in the Finishers and Everyfin is Awesome. Always hit face and make him kill your murlocs, unless it is an absolutely necessary trade. I absolutely love Murloc Tinyfin in this deck because its a free Murloc that can make this combo both happen faster and get buffed by it for zero mana!
TURN 3 MURLOCALYPSE
UPDATE: So I crafted this deck as soon as MSoG came out, and now that the meta has settled a bit, it turns out this deck is a GREAT counter to many of the popular decks that have emerged so far. It is excellent against the slower meta we now see with the Jade Druid/Rogue, Dragon Priest, Buff Paladin/Hunter & Secret Mage. Just as these decks try to set up, you deliver a stunning killing blow! Definitely even more fun now! Mrrgrrgl!
I love this deck I made one small change to it and that is trading out the flame wreathed faceless for a gentle megasaur resulting in MORE SYNERGY
Does anyone know if this holds up in wild well, or was it only intended for standard?
Tried for quest and went 5-6 at rank 17.
Deck completely depends on having good curve and opponent having no answers (or making really dumb plays like leaving zillion murlocs on the board and going face). In all other scenarios it is hard loss without a chance.
Super fun combo deck!
used 1.5k dust for this deck - 0/5 deleted hearthstone
awful clickbait title and sadly the deck is just as bad.
no card draw, not even a coldlight oracle. you will run out of steam very fast with all these cheap minions.
no comeback mechanism, once you lose the board it's over. especially with useless blank draws like bloodlust and flametounge.
the deck will win you some games when you get lucky with a good start and perfect draws. but other than that you will lose, like literally to everything on ladder.
Would any of these work?
I am currently running these changes with 23 games played at a 61% win rate from rank 15 to 12:
-1 Bloodlust
-1 Flamewreathed Faceless
+1 Corrupted Seer
+1 Leeroy Jenkins
I just added Leeroy Jenkins and originally had two Corrupted Seer. Any opinions, thoughts, suggestions, or constructive criticisms are Awesome
I haven't play tested your cards but I think Knife Juggler is viable. There are a lot of tokens produced so it seems useful to get an edge early on small enemy minions. However I wouldn't remove a murloc for it.
I think Corrupted Seer is a card that tries to do too much. Its like a crappy Lightning Storm and a crappy murloc at 6 mana. At 6 mana you can do better and by that time should be setting up a kill blow, plus it might damage your own minions too.
I like Leeroy Jenkins, however if you want a finisher I actually like Lava Burst better. Its cheaper at 3 mana (overload doesn't matter if its your finisher) and does 5 damage and can't be blocked by taunts. So I think it is probably superior.
Dropping the 2nd Bloodlust is kind of risky, I have tried it and just about every time I got the card I replaced it with, I would have been better off with Bloodlust, so I keep 2x to make sure I draw one.
Hope my thoughts help.
Hey, hey!
Was searching for a Murloc Shaman and took your decklist, made a few changes and tried to make some nice wins. E voila it was working really great for me, especially against stuff like the Jade Golems you are crushing them in a few turns! :D
Currently 5-1 with the deck, see my deck presentation and changes in my video: VOD Awesome Murloc deck (Cute and fast!)
Youtube-Player:
This deck is unfortunately awful. I won my first 4 games in a row with it and was pleasantly surprised, but then i proceeded to lose 6 games in a row afterwards. Mage, Warrior, Paladin, Warlock all easily stop the murlocs with their abundance of board-clears and control abilities. This deck is only good against other face decks, which are not as prevalent in this new meta.
It is true that the murlocs left alone are easily removed. Bait the clears, wait for the optimal use of everyfin. Once you pull it off, it's instant cc. A bilefin alone is enough Bait for shamans to use maelstrom portal, rogues to use fan of knives and hunters to use explosive trap.
I disagree. I think the meta has turned this experiment into a very strong counter to the popular new MSoG decks that everyone is playing (with the possible exception of Pirate Warrior).
I would also disagree that midrange Shaman is widely popular anymore since the expansion dropped.
I do agree that the deck is vulnerable to AoE board clears, but it also has a solid ability to bounce back from it and it doesn't eliminate your win conditions, and if your opponent does not have AoE in their first 5 or 6 cards, it is generally a win.
No idea on classifying a tier for it yet. I have had better luck with Dragon Priests, they generally play single large minions and can't deal with multiple targets, and since they don't even run Holy Nova they don't have any board clears (although I do sometimes run into Excavated Evil but not often). Its true they have taunts early, but its generally not been enough to lose my board, and just delays lethal for a turn. I find they spend most of the endgame frantically healing, but it usually doesn't buy them enough time to overwhelm with their bigger minions. I really don't feel like Dragon Priest is a bad matchup at all.
I think it depends on what you're facing a lot. 2x bloodlust is just to make it easier to draw the 1 you need. Lava burst could serve as a good finisher past taunts though.
Well, the reason for 2x Bloodlust isn't because you would use 2x in the game, it is strictly just to get a better chance of getting it because it is a game winning card if you don't draw Everyfin is Awesome. There is only 1 Flamewreath Faceless, and he just puts pressure on the other side to deal with instead of taking out your murlocs, and since the curve is so low, the overload doesn't really slow you down. However, it is probably the most replaceable card because it is not part of any combo, but I don't know if Lava Burst is a good replacement.
The drawback to Lava Burst is that it puts no pressure on the board (generally you would not benefit from using this card as removal in this deck) and an overwhelming board is the way you win the game, direct damage doesn't help with that, but please try it and let me know if you find different.
My first game with this deck, really cool deck.. Could end up with draw issues if the game goes on a little longer, always get warlock power with finley. cheers!
Very nice turn 3! Also love that you were rocking the murloc hero!
Cool deck, if you get a good curve (which is pretty easy) you absolutely wreck people, atleast if they have a slow start
I personally don't use him here because I feel at 5 mana and only 2 damage and no charge he is too slow for this deck that late in the game. Plus, his 5 mana would be better spent on a couple murlocs instead of spending the 5 mana and hoping you get a chance to summon those Murlocs for that 5 mana later if he happens to kill something with his 2 damage, which might not happen at all and its a big waste then. If you want to use him, I'd take out a Blowgill Sniper or maybe the Flamewreath Faceless.
