Hi guys, i started to play in october of last year and i made legend for the first time in december of 2015, since there i hit legend every season with different decks and i always try it to don't do it with the meta deck at the moment. So this time i made legend with this list in day 8 of the season :D i want to share with you this list so you can crush those annoying shamans out there.
It's a standar control warrior list i guess i just added Bloodhoof Brave and it worked pretty good against shamans and specially against zoos :) i really like it.
I had like a 70% of winrate against shamans so this is the deck for you if you want to beat them. Hope you enjoy it :)
Ok guys, since i got some upvotes i will do a little guide for you :)
This deck is a little tricky to play so if you lose some matchs at the begining just don't give up and learn from that.
Mulligan Guide:
So you always want Fiery War Axe in your opening hand, it's almost a win condition against a lot of decks.
- Shaman: You want to keep Bash and if you already have Fiery War Axe it's ok to keep Slam, if already have some early removal you want to keep Harrison Jones to destroy that shitty broken card named Spirit Claws. Ravaging Ghoul is a good keep if you already have the axe. Also is good to keep Brawl if you already have some early removal plus the Axe.
- Druid: So in this matchup the only cards you want in your opening hand are Fiery War Axe, Acolyte of Pain and Justicar Trueheart if you are confident enough about that druid is a Malygos one. If you know it's a Beast Druid you always want some early removal like Slam and Bash.
- Warlock: So you always mulligan as if your opponent is playing zoo, that mean you have to keep Axe and early removal like Slam and Bash also Ravaging Ghoul is a good keep against zoo. If you are pretty sure that your opponent is Renolock you want to keep the Axe, Acolyte of Pain and Execute so you make sure that you will have an answer for his first big threat.
- Warrior: So since Control Warrior is popular right now you have to mulligan for Elise Starseeker and Justicar Trueheart, those are the most important cards in the mirror matchup. If you are sure about your opponent is a Pirate Face Warrior you just mulligan for Axe and early removal like against the other aggro decks.
- Mage: You always mulligan as if the opponent is Tempo Mage. You want Axe, Slam and Bash in this matchup, Ravaging Ghoul is fine to keep if you already have Axe. Against Freeze Mage is a free win LUL you just hard mulligan for Justicar Trueheart, if you play her in turn 6, they concede EleGiggle.
- Paladin: Welp i didn't see any paladin while i was trying to get legend so i'm not completely sure what you mulligan for, i suppose against Anyfin Paladin, Axe is what you want and Acolyte of Pain so you can draw your stuff to gain armor and get away from the otk range.
- Hunter: This matchup is difficult, they just SmorC you until you DIE lul, you just want early removal and hope they don't draw like GOD and win...
- Rogue: So in this match you want Axe and Acolyte of Pain so you can draw all your removal, Rogue has just a few threats so if you can response against them and save a removal for Malygos you just win in the end.
- Priest: Who plays Priest? LUL
In some matchups it's good to keep Shield Block plus Shield Slam if you already have Fiery War Axe so you can deal with mid range threats like Tomb Pillager, Thing from Below and Fandral Staghelm.
An useful tip for Control Warrior players against some aggro decks and Shamans is that you don't have to spent removals for every threat your opponent has if you are holding Brawl in hand, they will overextend at some point and you can clear eficciently without just throw away all your single target removal, is the same thing with Revenge, if you are sure that u won't die next turn, you can just armor up and pass and wait for a good Brawl and Revenge.
Welp Guys, there are some tips to play well this deck, you can ask for whatever you want and i will reply you the best i can :) Thanks for the upvotes and good luck in ladder guys !

Thanks, and goodluck in ladder :DD
replacement for revenge ?
Replacement for Ironforge Portal ??
Replecement for elise?
you don't get enough armor to survive burst from otk nor enough board presence to consistently beat decks other than shaman
c'thun warrior is better in the meta IMO, even with people running hex ancient shieldbearer basically makes you autowin vs druid and freeze mage and the rest of the matchups are even or favorable besides midrange hunter
Im currently running Black Knight in the six drop slot instead of Sylvanas in my Control Yogg Warrior. Why? A resurgence of Al-Akir in Shamans + the obvious Things From Below and Spirit Wolfs is the main answer. Hunter run Houndmaster, Renolock has seen an inclination with lots of taunts, all C'Thun decks runs taunts even though not so many right now, still a few, Tirion in Murloc Paladin is seen now and then, some Tempo Mages runs Mirror Image, Zoolocks which there are quite a few of runs four-six taunts - Beast Druid runs Druid of theClaw, Dragon Priest and Dragon Warrior run several Taunts, same with C'Thun Druid already mentioned. That leaves us with Malygos/Token Druid, Miracale/Malygos Rogue and Control Priest of which the two latter is rarely seen on ladder these days. Do you agree this is enough to justify running the card? I feel my Sylvanas rarely gets value due to getting Hexed, and other alternatives seem not very good in the slot, alternatively do as Gaara and run Argent Commander. What do people think? I'm currently struggling at ranks 3-5 and really want to hit legend this season with my beloved Control Warrior. Will Black Knight help me achieve this or am I fumbling in the dark?
Black knight can be really good, you can try it and replace bloodhoof for it :) let me know how BK is doing in the meta please :P
Harrison is really good right now, if you destroy Spirit claws with 3 charges you automatically win lol because you will have so much resources to respond every threat the scumbag shaman puts on the field. You should craft it.
Great deck, but I would consider replacing one ironforge with a bgh to improve shaman/druid matchups
bgh doesn't improve your shaman matchup.... the only target for BGH is ragnaros.... mid range shamans don't run 4 mana 7/7 anymore... so if you kill ragnaros with execute or shield slam and then you draw BGH, it's a damn DEAD card in your hand...bgh maybe is good against druid, but shaman is the deck to beat in ladder and BGH just make your deck worst against them.... that's why you shouldn't run it.
I guess that's true... guess I'll just run it if I see an absurd amount of druids. Also, what is your take on yogg in CW?
yeah u can put bgh for bloodhoof if u are facing too many druids, i really don't like yogg in this deck because if you are facing other control deck and you go to fatigue, yogg probably will draw you cards and make you lose, or just kill himself and do nothing.... and is not needed against mid shaman and aggro, you already have the tools to deal with them. Yogg is fine in druid because they don't have board clears but warrior as a lot so fuck yoog haha
Not entirely true, I see some value in BHG apart from the fact that 9 of 10 decks run Ragnaros:
Buffed up Thing From Below (and Fire Elementalts for that sake) next to Flametounge Totem, and if youre really behind on board: buffed up tomems from Thunder Bluff Valiant. And thats just Shamans, and Flamewraith Faceless har seena bit of a comeback lately. Druid are more often running Y'Shaarj together with the Giants, a resurgens of Reno/C'Thun-lock has both Giants and obviously c'Thun himslf as a target, same goes for C'Thun Warrior, with both C'Thun and Doomcaller, not to talk about Rogue with not less then THREE targets: Questing x 2 and Edwin (plus cold blooded minions), the occasional Freeze Mage runs Alex, and midrange Hunter, in addition to their Rags, buff up the Highmanes with Houndmaster more often than you would like them to. Paladins runs not less than TWO Rags, in addition to buffed up Murlocs, though if they hit the board a BGH often would be insufficent. Its not even rare to see Councilmen above 7 attack! To sum up:
Shaman which makes up 60% of the meta at mid to higher levels runs at least one BHG-target
Tempo Mage which clocks in at nr 2 runs one consistently (freezemage runs Alex, Reno mage runs often both)
Control Warrior runs Rag more often then not, plus different Elise targets, Cthun runs Cthun obv + Doomcaller 50% of the time
Druid at nr 4 runs at least 3
Zoo often ends up running one in effect with their Councilmen
Rogue arguably the fifth or sixth most popular deck at mid-high levels right now run 1-3
Hunter runs more often than not Rag + their occasianlly buffed up Highmane
Paladin runs 2 rags if you count out the buffed murlocs
Priest.... who cares. BUT at least they cant deal with 4 attack minions, if youre unlucky enough to meet them with a BHG in hand
welp... first of all shamans are not 6O% of the meta.... you can try bgh if you want... you don't have to copy my exact list. lul
What about swapping Sylvanas for Black Knight? To simple reasons for this idea: A) my Sylvanas gets Hexed 8 out of 10 games B) I lose against Thing From Below 8 out of 10 games
Good deck but Shadow Reno Priest rapes this deck. Of the three I faced I never stood a chance. Still this is a good deck against all other decks.
I like that deck, but I have problems against C'thun Warriors/Priests, or Priests which stole my cards and use Entombs or removers.
Look at my last two posts. Same questions. Got some good answers which could you help as well.
I miss 3 cards in this deck. I mean 2x Revenge and Baron Geddon. Also don't have any legendary replacement for it. Can u help me?
