That's the deck Tides used to reach #2 legend NA yesterday (06/20) live on stream.
http://www.twitch.tv/tidesoftime
Update:
- harrison - faceless - gnomish
+ leeroy + gorehowl + azure drake
The deck is out of date. Tide's current decklist changes are as follows:
-1 Harrison -1 Faceless -1 Gnomish
+1 Azure Drake +1 Leeroy +1 Gorehowl
Why no gnomish and why leeroy?
changes done
thanks
Tried this deck in 6 casual (but all using standard constructed decks) matches; I won 5, 3 against priests, which was pleasantly surprising. I didn't have Harrison Jones so I switched him out for Baron Geddon, which worked out great for me. Really enjoyed having the flexibility of Ysera or Gromm (optional) as win conditions. Also fun to have faceless manipulators copying Ysera or Cairne.
im not understanding the 2x manipulators
Two Ysera is great.
Getting an enraged grom and then tripling it is also great.
I dont have Harrison Jones how can i replace it?
Can someone into an in-depth explanation of Gnomish Inventor's role? Why is it so imperative to have a 4 mana card that cycles and makes use of the 2-4? My question isn't what does it do, but why is what it does so necessary to warrant using one of the deck's precious 30 card slots?
Stubborn 2/4 body which cannot be removed by anything below 3mana most of the time. Also works to thin out the deck to get to the essential cards like shield slams, executes and whatnot at critical turns.
What is the win condition supposed to be with this deck? Cause I just keep dying in fatigue unable to finish the opponent. Gotten destroyed by druid shaman and priest so far.
The deck doesn't have enough early/mid game to do enough damage to set up a grom finisher without Alex to set HP to 15 and neither grom nor ysera ever live long enough to get double facelessed if you aren't already dead by 10 mana
The win condition is ysera. Grom for this deck isn't really used as a finisher rather a threat the opponent is forced to deal with. It's okay to use grom to smack into an opponent's monster and if they don't deal with it immediately then you can faceless it next turn for massive damage.
It shouldn't really be possible for your opponent to deal with your early game and late game threats so usually ysera / grom will survive. As Tides stated, this deck isn't easy to play so it just takes some time to get used to.
Also, if you find yourself facing against a lot of aggro then armorsmith becomes that more of a necessity. Facelessing your own armorsmith and whirlwinding all your monsters is sometimes the correct way to go even if it loses you card advantage.
When was he playing it to rank 2 ?? watched it when he played to rank 16 or something but cant find the rank 2 vid?? Played this deck from rank 7-3 after losing from rank 1 to 7 with shaman 2 days ago rlly good deck but had to switch to miracle after getting to rank 3 everyone playes miracle and zoo at the lower ranks and warrior has a shitty matchup against them was going going 50% win rate then switched to miracle and went 90% win rate to bubble rank 1 (Not OP at all..)
3 days ago... he got #2, dropped, got#2 again and dropped again
Hmm, giving it a go, Shaman seems a real pain
Replacements for legendaries for those who can't afford:
-Acidic Swamp Ooze instead of Harrison Jones.
-Cairne Bloodhoof can be swapped out with any high-value trading minion. For those who want the same numbers; Sunwalker is a good choice and has divine shield+taunt.
-Sylvanas is rather tricky to replace due to how she functions. As weird as it may sound; Gorehowl is an appropriate replacement for her.
-Ysera is another one that is tricky to replace since no card functions like she does. For those who have it; Alexstrasza can be a good swap. For those who want a non-legendary option; a nice big minion would be good. Like maybe anything 7 mana or higher really.
-Grommash is a finisher. To replace him you need basically a card that can act as a finisher like he would.
I just wanted to say that Black Knight replacing Harrison is a very good choice. In fact I think it's much better than Harrison, but that's just depending on how many rogues/warriors you are seeing on the ladder. If not Harrison and you see a lot of weapons, just put an ooze in .
I agree. Black Knight/Harrison are good meta swaps.
Iagree with you man I have had a terrible time with this list against druid
No alexstrasza?
Very good deck, but get crushed by zoo if no argus... only 1 slam, no cleave... what should I change to be better against them?
(EDIT: replaced gnomish inventor by a second argus, or harrisson by a second slam... that helps)
