Hello fans,
this deck is a varition and mix out of freeze mage and handlock. So far it works pritty well. If u like this deck and vote for it i can write a guide/matchups/mulligan and all the stuff. You can add me if u have questions or just to be my friend :P Battletag: Mostef#2481
Introduction
Allright there where quit a few requests for a guide so will write some words. plz dont take languague mistakes too sirous its not my first language ;). And its my first guide so dont be to hard to me guys, just give me some requests u want to see in the guide
Stratagy
The plan behind this deck is combining varition. Why i think this deck is better then a freeze mage espacialy in this rankingmeta is, that freezemage relies too much on only one combo. If u dont have that alex+freeze+etc combo ur done. This deck doesnt relie on one combo there are a cople of ways to finish ur opponent. And u can handle all sorts of decks out there.
In Generel u play patiant and turn 4 and 5 are ur turns where u can play Twilight Drake or Mountain Giant. The other point is that u have a lot of big boss minyons like sylv.(cairne), archmage, alex and mountains. There are no enemy out there who can counter em all even a warrior with full shieldslam use cant handle em all
Ur strategy depends on opponent, situation and cards in ur hand. Sometimes u dont want to ctrl board and want to take some dmg to do a mountain+secret+pyro combo. Sometimes u want to ctrl the board and play a doomsayer + next turn twilight combo. Thats the point on this deck u can adept ur playstyle on ur opponents and the situation.
The earlygame of this deck is most of the time simialar to Handlock. Keep cards and play big early minyons. I will also write some words to evry card.
In the lategame u have alot of combos u can take. U can archmage+freeze. U can alex.+pyro+fireballs.
The point on this deck is: Ur opponent have to trigger your secret early, thats the situation where u die, if he cant its most of the time gg.
And to mention is u need balls of steel for this deck if u see evry shit as a threat and dont want to drop health and play evrything at start or trade for crap u will loose. U have to know when to drop health, when to heal up with alex or which secret to play at what moment. So this deck is expirence based but once u know how to play its easy legend. And to say many things i cant explain in this guide becuz u of felxebility of this deck.
Lets face some opponents
Rushdecks
From all the decks ive played this is imo the best vs rushdecks. I had kind 80% winrate vs em and were happy to face em (in general). Where it is abit more difficult is pala rushes and murlocks. Ur strat vs rushes: U have alot of boeard clearer and boeard ctrl. 1. Passiv (fuks the gnomes) 2. Doomsayer this card is perfect vs rushdecks if u play it at turn 2 the lock HAS TO USE Soulfire to clear the boeard and soulfire isnt a spell u wanna loose early espacialy not vs doomsayer. It takes all the effectiveness out of rush. Espacialy if the lock uses his soulfires he cant avoid ur Ice Barrier and u gain full ctrl of boeard with ur freezes.
Then u have ur freezes and sweepers in general AND u can play ur giants if u get low on health. So if u have ur Ice Block activeted and u drop on 10 health and have some sweeper or boeard ctrl-cards its already GG. And this is vs all rushdecks. Ur combo out of alex+giants+freezes+sweepers+secrets makes this deck perfect counter of rushdecks. I could write more on this but i think its enough if u have more questions just feel free to ask.
Miracle Rogue
Its one of your best matchups. This deck counters a miracle absolutly. 1. u have alot of time where the rogue tries to build his combo. So in most of the cases u play at turn 4 or 5 a big minyon (Mountain Giant [/card] or [card]twilight drake) most of the time he has to sap. if the rogue now tries to start his combo u have alot of ways to deal with it. u can Frostbolt+passiv his auctio. if he stleath u have Flamestrike if he builds some minyons up u can freeze em 4 times etc.
Ur secrets counters that fukin leeroy combo and slows dmg generelly. he used all his saps to ur first minyon now u can drop in lategame ur big ones and have ur pyro+fireballs. He can do shit. u drop 2 giants at low health + freeze = gg. Rogues have no taunts at all so byebye. u can make alex+pyro combo and kill him. there are many ways to fuk the rogues :D
Hunter
Lucklie there are not many hunters out there. this is ur weakest matchup becuz of one card: Flare if it is a rush hunter and have this card in his hand its kind a gg. If its a secret-ctrl-hunter u have some possibilites and chances to win. If u forced his ctrl+cards like Hunter's Mark u can do some easy combos. The point is u dont have to force his secrets with ur minyons. U can keep em on board without hitting. U dont want to get hit by ur own giant in the face ;). U do this only if there couple of minyons on board. If u can hit with a twilight u do but never force secrets with giants on en empty board.
We dont need to kill him with our minyons. The best minyon vs secret hunters is ragnaros becuz it doesnt trigger their secrets and we have same abilities. We can do alex+pyro+firball combos. We can do Arschmage+freeze combos and hit em fireballs into his face and so on.
These are possibilites but generely hunter are ur worst opponent cuz of flare
Druids
U face alot of druids in ranked atm. They became rly popualar. Imo there are more druids out there then anything else atm. Druids are rly strong but i think this deck is slightly favoured. The point is most of the players out there doesnt know this deck and try to play around alex but thats our strength we dont relie on alex combo to finish opponent like freezemages. This gives us a favour and slows the game for us where the druid tries to play around
Now the thing in this matchup is if the druid can trigger ur secret early he win if he dont u win. Vs ctrl druids like gaaras decks u win easy vs nature combos it depends on the early game. if u can slow his rush and can get ur secret activeted u win.
Also Fireball counters alot of minyons thats why u keep it in mulligan in this matchup. Many dont know u have twilight drake in ur hand so they use there keeper unwisely. Most of em use it vs Doomsayer so ur drake becomes threat. Druids cant deal with big Minyons. they normal have to trade with their minyons so what removels does a druids have which threats u: swipe, wrath, bgh, keeper and all these are not like a shaman Hex so its easy to ctrl board with big minyons
AND many of em have the fukin Black Knight in his hand which is useless becuz u have no taunt only with a Mark of the Wild combo he can use it and still not very effective

Mulligan
Generelly u want to keep: Ice Block Doomsayer Twilight Drake Arcane Intellect Mountain Giant(not vs rush deck! its dead card vs em) and Frostbolt
Fireball only vs druids
Alexstrasza only vs shamans and mb mages

i have to say it, it's an interesting deck but: only one pyroblast, no ice lance combo, antonidas and no counterspell, it lacks a solid finisher imo;
maybe it would work better if played furthermore handlock style rather than freeze mage's.
Frozen giants was the only deck played for months and months on the Asia servers, bro - and I can't remember the decklists because they haven't been popular for a LONG time, but this seems to lack any taunt-givers for those giants?
ummm how is this unique is frozen giants from like 2 months back...nothing unique about this....Oh btw Hunters will eat this deck alive...

Perhaps if YOU want to read HIS guide you should consider learning his native language so it can be a bit more readable to you, I'm sure it'll be easier for him.
I will be honest, I wasn't sure about this deck... but now that I've played it, man is it fun. I can't begin to describe the feeling when you have 20+ health and an iceblock with 1 more turn till you kill your opponent and then they throw out their OTK strategy only to see it do nothing. I love watching a FoN/SR Druid, a Bloodlust Shaman, or a Miracle Rogue rage quit because of this!
Nice deck so far, but i'm really having problems against zoo.
i'm going so low on hp before i can clear the board. Then i have to react, play secrets to survive and dont have enough mana to clear the board
am i missing something here?

I played Zoo to rank 2 this season and this deck was one of my hard counters, just mulligan for Frost Bolt, Doomsayer, Frost Nova and Blizzard - Ideally you want to have Frost Bolt turn 2 and Combo Doomsayer with your frost Nova
play your doomslayers early- Its the best way to get around Zoo. If you turn 2-3 DoomSlayer it prevents them from playing any more minons and lets you just get to the turns you can clear board. Its not easy matchup but you just have to play stuff like doomslayer and frost nova alone and not together beecause you cant wait that long to play them together. Basically 2-3 Doomslayer. Turn 3-4 Frost Nova. Turn 5-6 pray for blizzard or 2nd frost nova/doomslayer then turn 7 flamestrike. The other thing that a turn 3 doomslayer lets you do is play a turn 4 drake or mountain gaint with minimum presence on there board since they couldnt play anything turn 3. Once you get that gaint down you can use it keep clearing minons or attack face if you have frost novas and blizzards to keep board clear.
you should at least post basic strat/milligan guide. so people can sloperly play it and see how it goes
Yes I'd love to see a guide on this since there are some very unique cards here. I just crafted sylvannas so I could try this out. When do you play her? After doomsayers so the silence cards are played?
u play sylvanas to get the board out of ctrl. if u have one minyon on board and he has some then u play it. otherwise its vaste. But i prefer cairne as better choice but thats the way to use it.
Silences: There are no class out there which have MORE then 2 silence in deck. This means u can play twilight to forst silence or doomsayer. To force there silences is good becuz u have alot of cards that needs silence. So what i am often do is i play doomsayer early to force silence and then i got twilight at turn 4. Or if he silence my twilight i have my freeze doomsayer combo. So forcing the silence is good for u for the later stages of the game
I would like a guide on this, I like handlock and freeze mage. Freeze mage more i just feel its very inconsitant sometimes and has some games that are insta lose. Also if I dont have Archmage, Bloodmage, and Sylvannis. How should i replace those? thanks!
