Hi everybody,
this is senti with another deck release.
When I saw the preview of Anub'ar Ambusher, I instantly knew that the MalyRogue had the perfect slot for it. Why? Because it's more Midrange than Miracle Rogue but still doesn't use too many minions that could be counterproductive towards the drawback of Anub'ar Ambusher. The 3-drops on the other hand are happily brought back to your hand to get extra value of their Battlecries. Furthermore it fills the otherwise empty 4-slot and dramatically threatens the opponent on turn 4, giving you more time to set up Gadgetzan Auctioneer plays. In 99% of all cases opponents kill the Battlecry minion first, to not let you summon it again. Therefore in 99% of all cases it is a 5/5 for (4). Occoasionally you can even use the Deathrattle intentionally.
I decided to remove Big Game Hunter and Assassin's Blade from Firebat/AtaK's originial version to add two Anub'ar Ambushers.
Let me know, if you like it!
Update 07/24/2014
I started testing the deck and the Anub'ar Ambusher seems to be very strong. Didn't have much problems so far, especially not against Zoo and Token Druid. Of course a lot more testing is still needed and the meta will dramatically change over the next weeks, when more Naxxramas cards are released. Just wanted to give a brief update.
Update 09/12/2014
With the upcoming Leeroy Jenkins nerf as of 09/22/2014, this deck might have a big comeback. With the also upcoming Starving Buzzard change Hunter won't be as explosive anymore. Thus I think Zoo and Control will make a comeback to counter the current Midrange meta (especially Priests). This deck is strong against both.
Less Hunters also means less weapons in the meta. Assassin's Blade might therefore make a comeback.
Changelog
07/28/2014
- Loot Hoarder
+ Conceal
Not primarily for Gadgetzan Auctioneer plays, but turn 10 Malygos + Conceal really sets a clock for your opponent. Sometimes you can even secure a win in the midgame, concealing 2-3 minions. Also Loot Hoarder felt weird lately because of his Deathrattle not having synergy with Anub'ar Ambusher. Besides of that, the deck runs very smoothly and nice so far.
08/15/2014
- Edwin VanCleef
+ Loatheb
Loatheb is just great and has better synergy with Anub'ar Ambusher. Edwin VanCleef was mostly The Coined out on turned 2 as a 4/4 which is great but not necessary at the moment.
08/18/2014 (Hunter meta tech)
- 1x Earthen Ring Farseer + 1x Stonetusk BoarThis seems to be a weird change, but is mostly to counter Trap Hunter. Check with Wicked Knife for Explosive Trap, then play and run Stonetusk Boar into Freezing Trap. Thanks to Fakestreet who brought this great idea with his Boaring Miracle Rogue.
EDIT 09/12/2014: With the upcoming changes this change won't be needed anymore.
09/14/2014
- 1x Earthen Ring Farseer
+ 1x Big Game Hunter
As Handlock will probably make a comeback after the nerfs, one Big Game Hunter helps a lot.
Considerations/cards, that didn't make it
- Assassin's Blade feels a bit vulnerable at the moment with all these Control Warriors and Priests around, running Harrison Jones to counter Trap Hunters. Will be brought back as soon as possible.
- Second Sap: Isn't needed with the pressure midgame due to Anub'ar Ambusher. If all those Savannah Highmanes make it necessary though, I will probably cut Conceal for it.
- Edwin VanCleef might be brought back, when these meta changes aren't necessary anymore.

Ive been testing a Malygos Miracle for the past 3 days since Leeroy will be nerfed and i wanted a week headstart learning/countering a more popular miracle rogue which i think the Malygos version will become, i was running +1 Farseer +1 Sap +1 Assassins Blade over the +2 Anub'ar Ambusher +1 Azure drake. The decklist http://imgur.com/a/8coO2#st3foVV
So far the Ambushers ive found extremely helpful earlier as an example i got to play Loatheb 3 times vs a Leeroy miracle Kappa and won with 2hp left.
I did still cut an Azure for an Assassins blade as i like the extra synergy with Blade Flurrys/Deadly poisons and it adds extra widdling down of the Opponents HP.
Ive somewhat been lucky ive played 150+ games with the Blade added and never been Harrison Jonese'd, people seem to feel that rogues aren't running the blade because Harrison IS so prevalent so they've been using him on my 1/1 daggers oddly enough, its the circle of life i suppose.
Before i tried the Ambushers i tried Sludge Belchers also just to slow them down and protect Gadgetzans/Malygos it was quite effective and saved me quite often since people tend to counter rush a rogue, however the spell power and draw i found too important and often helps quite a lot with removal. In the end Azure drakes are a soft taunt anyway.
Still it was decent and i thought worth a mention i might test Sludges in over the Ambushers in the future, it all depends on what people are playing after the Buzzard/Leeroy nerfs.
If anyone wants to play/test some decks add me on US @ Matrias#1130 i have all the worthwhile cards if you want to practise vs anything in particular or just play for fun.
Cheers from Australia.
Hi Matrias,
thanks for your detailed feedback, I actually can't wait using this list again in ranked.
Anub'ar Ambusher really helps Malygos Miracle. It's also a good in trading with Loatheb (who is hard to remove otherwise). And an Anub'ar Ambusher followed by Loatheb really seals the board.
Running Assassin's Blade over one Azure Drake seems to be the obvious way to include it to the list. This replacement depends on the number of Harrison Jones run in the meta though. We have to see :-)
I'm thinking about adding Alexstrasza to make this an even more "Control Rogue". Any thoughts on that?
PS: I'm playing on EU, sorry ^^
Ive been thinking about adding Alexstrasza to the mix too but im not sure what to cut, i guess ill try cutting the Assassins blade and testing it later. It would give an extra late game threat and you'd feel less backed into a corner trying to keep them around 15-20HP or less by the time you get to the late game or heal yourself if you're in a bad spot.
Ill test the Alexstrasza tonight for a few hours and check back.
Edit: Played about 30 games so far and Alexstrasza was irrelevant i either died by or around turn 9 or i was so dominant they couldn't keep minions on board and i had them at 10-18 hp already anyway. There was 1 game where a hunter leeroy'd me leaving me at 2hp with no cards left in his hand, i had a gadgetzan out that made me laugh.
People seem to rush every rogue deck at the moment fearing Leeroy im tempted to add 2x Sludge Belcher.
I tested Alexstrasza yesterday and she seems to do fine instead of one Azure Drake (or in your case Assassin's Blade). Hadn't had a situation where an Azure Drake would have been *much* better but some situations where she hepled a lot (in some cases it didn't matter, bacause I didn't draw her or Zoo was beaten too fast ^^). Sample size is too small so far though, to say something definite.
Going to be testing this deck with two others for next months ladder.
can this work without bloodmage?
Bloodmage Thalnos is a strong Legendary for Rogue, but yes, this should work without him. You could add Kobold Geomancer.
Southsea Deckhand might be an even better choice, thanks for your feedback!
I should definitely an description at some point, meanwhile please check Firebat's write-up: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/44975-firebat-ataks-rogue-elegance
Yes, the Southsea Deckhand is a great replacement for Stonetusk Boar.
Nice deck i took out 1x shiv for a conceal btw altho its really hard to choose amybe even 1x ambusher for a conceal
So far I felt well without the Conceal. The cool thing about the Malygos Miracle Rogue is, that Preparation is useful even outside Gadgetzan Auctioneer plays because you can use it on turn 9 or 10 with Malygos for board clear or just a lot of damage, so there is not such a big need to get an amazing amount of cards from Gadgetzan Auctioneer. On the other hand the Conceal would also be amazing with Malygos on turn 9/10...
Removing a Shiv feels weird as this is a Spelldamage deck and therefore you want to have a lot of damage spells. Removing one Anub'ar Ambusher feels bad too, because they more or less give you board presence and help to get rid of big things (remember there is only one Sap and Big Game Hunter was removed). I might playtest removing the Loot Hoarder.
This deck would love 31 slots... ^^
Yea I actually ended up removing the loot hoarder for a conceal.
Playtested this a lot and finally decided to keep the Conceal. Thanks for your feedback!
The ambusher is interesting. I think you should run more battlecry/combo though, like novice engineer or defias ringleader.
Thanks for your feedback. I actually could see a Novice Engineer in place of Loot Hoarder, but that would make your eraly game weaker. Defias Ringleader doesn't fit in my opinion though, as this is still kind of a "Miracle" deck.
