Greetings! My Name is Hyude, I am a frequent legend player, and previously known as The creator of Cancer Crusher paladin.

With the release of Karazhan, I want to introduce you to my latest creation : Reno Curator Paladin. This deck is a control deck, You win by outheal aggro, and outvalue other control deck.

Introduction

The idea behind the deck is that paladin have a lot of value card, but it lack early game (with the loss of shieldbot and muster), it also lack reliable card draw and a heal that doesnt make you lost  lot of tempo. And then comes The curator, a 4/6 taunt with potentially 3 card draw. And we already know how potent reno is. So I am trying to create a Reno paladin, that have a good early game, good control card, good heal, and good card draw. And so this deck is born.

The curator requires you to at least have 2 dragon, 2 beast, and 2 murloc to make it reliably draw 2-3 card, otherwise you will usually not getting its full value. So I include the most reliable murloc, dragon and beast.

  • Murloc : Finley (because paladin hero power sucks), and Corruptor seer (works as a 2nd consecration)
  • Beast : Stampeding Kodo (this is too obvious), and jeweled scarab (usually fetch aldor, but sometimes fetch a really good tech card)
  • Dragon : Azure Drake and Chillmaw. Provide card draw and taunt (and very rarely a 3rd consecration).

Deck Analysis

This deck is quite hard to master, but it have a lot of answer for any kind of situation. Try to play a lot of games to get a glimpse of how this deck should be played

This deck consist of 5 Component

  1. The Early Game :
Finley, Selfless Hero, Doomsayer, Scarab, Loot hoarder, Ooze, wild pyro. All of those provide a board presence to contest aggro deck. Doomsayer is the MVP as it can deny their turn 3, and make your game far easier later on.
  2. The Control Card
Stampeding Kodo, Equality, Consecration, Corrupted Seer, Sylvanas, MCT, Aldor, Humility, Uldaman, Truesilver,
  3. The Value Card :
Tirion, Barnes, Sylvanas, The Curator, Brann . This is the card that is hard to deal with, or can gives you good trade.
  4. The Healing Card :
Reno Jackson, Forbidden Healing, Happy Rag, Ivory Knight.
  5. The Win Condition :
Reno Jackson (against Aggro), N'zoth (against Control after they use both brawl/equality), Tirion, Happy Rag.

Mulligan Strategy

  • Always keep : Finley, doomsayer, reno jackson, loot hoarder, selfless hero, scarab.
  • Keep against shaman : aldor, MCT, ooze
  • Keep against warlock : consecration, MCT
  • Keep against mage : Truesilver, consecration, wild pyro (if with coin)

In-Depth Strategy

  • Finley : The best hero power to get is Mage and Druid. Warrior and Priest is great against burst deck. NEVER pick Warlock as the draw is bad against both aggro and control.
  • Brann : Against aggro, drop this on turn 3 if you have to. it works as a taunt and most of the times, they will try to remove it at all cost (even if you doesnt have any battlecry to follow it up).
  • Ooze : Keep it for doomhammer, waraxe, truesilver. Against rogue, and hunter, just play it for tempo

Card Replacement

  • Non-replacable : Reno, The Curator, N'zoth, Tirion, Finley, Forbidden Healing, Corrupted Seer
  • Sylvanas, Cairne : Replace with other good deathratle card such as Chillmaw, Infested Tauren, twilight summoner,
  • Happy Rag : Replace with other big threat value card such as Nefarian, Rafaam, Onixia, Bog creeper, soggoth
