The Deck has been updated to Explosive Snipe since GvG !
Hello everyone I’m Spark, Legend player from Hearthstone, and today I’m presenting you a Control Hunter that I recently built and had some great success with.
The basic idea was to play Savannah Highmane as a late game threat and Eaglehorn Bow as a versatile control and pressure tool along with Snipe to annoy Miracle Rogue and Explosive Trap to fight Aggro decks. The slower nature of my choice lead me towards a Control archetype, using a synergy that I already tested before : Wild Pyromancer and Hunter's Mark.
That's it for the guide guys, I hope you'll enjoy the Deck as much as I do !
Don't forget to show your support by upvoting the Deck if you liked and don't hesitate to discuss about it or ask any question in the comment section below ;)Follow me for more content and updates !

Gameplay Video :
Naxxramas update :
- 2x Elven Archer
- 2x Loot Hoarder
+ 2x Mad Scientist
+ 1x Loatheb
+ 1x The Black Knight
He is always a hard card to replace, being a heavy hitter for late game I think Dr Boom might be a nice choice.
I tried to include them but there is two reasons why they didnt make the cut :
- It doesn't give the precious draw
- being untargetable is good at first glance but in the end what I expect from a 5 drop is to draw removal from my opponent to play later threats more safer so spectral knight doesn't achieve that ^^
I dont have Baron Geddon any way I can replace him or is he a key card in this deck ?
Great deck! I don't have Ragnaros :( what can I use? Thanks a lot :)
I've found this deck to still work with some success, at least up until about rank 5 (where I'm floating at). It has a bit of trouble with Paladin as far as I've seen, but copes pretty well with most other decks. I've found that it was really hurting for silence, but the 2 drop slot is pretty saturated with traps, so I elected to add 2 Spellbreakers. I've also added Belchers to help with the zoo matchup just so you can keep up after you've burned through pyro chains or your explosive trap. I haven't yet unlocked the new wing cards (will play later tonight), but I think Mad Scientist is a great addition.
Edit: The only thing this deck may be really hurting for is additional threats. Maybe it's because I don't have a Geddon, but with only Highmanes and Rag, sometimes I just get outvalued in heavier control matchups.
I see posts of this deck no longer being as effective and I just don't buy it. I'm running a variation, which looks like this:
2 Hunter's Mark
2 Arcane Shot
2 Tracking
2 Elven Archers
2 Exp Trap
2 Freezing Trap
2 Snipe
2 Wild Pyros
2 Eaglehorn Bows
2 Deadly Shots
2 Acolytes of Pain
1 Earthen Farseer
2 Sen'jins
2 Azure Drakes
2 Savannah Highmanes
1 Ragnaros
As a casual ranked player (I'm currently sitting at 12), this deck is quite effective. I've been alternating from this deck (which I have experimented with for days to get to this point), to Spark's Beastly Tactics Naxx deck, and this one is out in front. I am not listing my actual wins, but I certainly have won more games against most decks using this one. Zoo is sort of my test-game, and this deck handles Zoo better for me than Spark's newer one. It's more innovative, and has more utility. It absolutely brutalizes Paladins, and the Snipe issue with the Naxx Egg card hasn't been that bad of an issue. I have actually had it only happen a few times, and on one occasion I was able to follow it up with Hunter's Mark and Arcane. Mirror can be hard with a bad start, but if the game drags out, other Hunters cannot hang with it. Priests have been fairly easy match-ups too. Druids are hit and miss, but I've won my fair share, as I have with Rogues of whatever variety. Snipe tends to shut them down if you time it right. My ONLY question is, should I craft Barron Geddon and add him to this? I am sitting on 1800 dust and don't know what to use it on. Burning a whole in my proverbial digital pocket, so-to-speak. Thoughts?
Update. Just made Geddon. Working well.
Pyromancer is essential here, because without unleash + buzzard combo, pyromancer is the only active AOE(explosive trap is passive), and a good way to trigger acolyte of pain to make up for card draw.
Yep, it was created in the Miracle Rogue era (which is dying with Naxx) and it was king in it imo. But don't worry, an update will be coming once the meta start stabilizing =)
First i'll be posting a beast focused Hunter with the new cards ;)
Hello everyone,
Thanks for all the awesome support and sorry for not responding to all of you, there is many people out there and on hearthstone players and sometimes questions or thoughts were already explored number of times with someone else. I try to interact as best as I can but sometimes I have too much work to do outside of Hearthstone =/
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I posted my first ideas on a new version of this deck with the come of new cards from Naxxramas : http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/77485-spark-pyromaniac-secrets-v2
Don't hesitate to check it and discuss about it yourself, remember that the work is still in progress and I can't get my final version done until all the cards are available for testing ^^
Thanks again.
P.S. : I'm thinking of creating a twitter account specifically for Hearthstone interactions (announcements, decks ideas etc..) so I can inform everyone when I release new content or things like that. I'm not sure if it's really useful or not, so please me know about that, I just want to interact with all of you as best as I can ^^ (Note that streaming is still not an option right now)
I would follow on twitter!
Spark, how would you go about fitting an Owl or two in here? Feel like its needed post-Naxxramas. Suppose Spellbreaker is also an option since we dont care if our minions are beasts are not.
I think Naxx will change a lot of things in the meta and yes Silence will be needed for many decks. I'm a bit sad they didn't released new options for this purpose by the way. Anyway, I posted my first thoughts on a new version but I'm kind of ignoring this need for the moment, we need to see how it goes first ;)
I'm really enjoying this deck. Aside from a few bad draws I've been winning pretty consistent with it(From rank 18-13 in 1 night). I took -1 Acolyte of Pain and -1 Wild Pyromancer for +1 Acidic Swamp Ooze and +1 Ironbeak Owl. I found I was running into a bunch of Paladin and Warriors that use weapons so Ooze helps deal with that, and Ironbeak Owl I hold for late game to deal with bigger minions or against decks that like to boost minions like Pally, Priest, etc.
This deck is as another puts it, insane. Admittedly I do not have Rag, but do have geddon, subbed in a Leeroy and this deck is working well @ rank 13 currently
Placed 3rd at a local tournament with this deck, would have got first or second but it was user error, I had the 2nd game in the it would have been 2-0 but I got hasty and played rag knowing he had sylvanis I flooded the board before rag killed it and of all the cards it took rag xD gg..
Man, this deck is just insane! Love it! I don't have Baron Geddon though, so right now I'm trying Hogger instead.
My tip to anyone that runs into this deck and has a hard time with it, do not play your acolyte as soon as you notice what deck it is, chances are they will flood your hand and destroy rag/highmane ruining your end game play. If your end game does by chances get ruined you basically need to start playing aggro/super aggressive because once it gets into the game there is no coming back.
To make it more clear why I'm getting flooded a lot of the decks have a slight variation to this deck which includes brewmaster, they will play Coldlight Oracle Youthful Brewmaster Manage your hand well against this deck and you can win but the hard part is convincing yourself to mark archer early in the game if you have it.

Think I'm going to try and fit two owls into it because I seem to be playing against a ton of pally's tonight playing with Tirion because veev is/was streaming his deck. haven't decided if I will yet or not but it's just so much utility to clear it. Love the deck, for anyone that wants to see some of this decks game play just to get familiar with it, check out my channel. More videos will be posted soon.

What if you don't have Baron Geddon , what can I sub in? So far deck is great I'm 3-0 currently.
