Hello everyone, this is my first deck. I am Louey7 (I do YouTube: here) "Card Thief!" Name: You steal cards! This is receiving a Naxxramas update. Thanks for all the support with this deck and I am recently trying to pick it up again. There are many card replacements for lower budgets and non-naxx as well!

This is a video I made of the deck. Hope you learn something useful in it and thanks for watching! **This is the video guide for the old deck. The idea still follows, however to see the new deck in action, visit my YouTube for streams and/or look down below for the Naxx edit with it!

This deck is a low budget deck I started to use. It is the only deck/class that has gotten me past rank 15. I have been able to get rank 11 while using this deck, and am climbing in the new seasons ladder. It can have an extremely powerful early game, with a very controlling late game. There are some crazy combos that I will go over with once I get time.

If you do not have Sea Giant, you can replace it with Frostwolf Warlord. It is meant as a late game "strong" minion that can provide that extra punch you need to secure the game. I find that it is best used after removal. LightspawnInjured Blademaster, and Lightwarden are often targets of removal, then use your big minions!

Card Choices and Reasoning

Mind Control This is two 5 mana cards put into one 10 mana card. It is essentially and Assassinate and Faceless Manipulator. The reason I only have one is how situational it is, and having 2 can cause you to get stuck with it. Also it has a huge mana cost and this card is your whole turn.

Mind Vision just fits the theme of the deck. You are copying a card from your opponents hand. This has multiple benefits. Your opponent won't know what you copied, it can leave them guessing and potentially aiding you in winning. You know what you opponent has and can play around it. You get a 1 for 1 card trade. Fun when you get Deathwing!

Thoughtsteal again fits the deck theme. You copy 2 cards from your opponents deck and put them into your hand. It is like an Arcane Intellect from your opponents deck. So, you won't lose cards out of your deck, but will fill your hand with cards and create card advantage.

Quick Match-up guide

Note: this may not work for you - just my personal experience.

  • Control Druid: preferred
  • Another Priest: preferred, causes fun situations with Mind Vision and Thoughtsteal sometimes!
  • Aggro Paladin: preferred
  • Control/Mid Shaman: don't want, usually
  • Zoolock: in between, RNG-dependent
  • Miracle Rogue: preferred (very easy wins)

 NAXXRAMAS UPDATE! OCTOBER (SEASON 7)

I will include everything about the update here. All of the above follows if still in. Matchups are still the same for the most part. Here is my latest stream of the new version so you can see it in action (and compare to previous if you like)

Main ideas in Naxx update:
Naxxramas has changed the mate, and this deck hasn't been touched since Naxxramas (by me). I decided I wanted to have some fun on my priest and tried this deck again - with an update of new cards I have and Naxxramas cards.
Now, this deck is way less early game dependent. However, you still have a good amount of control for early game. There are more "thieving" control cards that actually play well, and fit better than some old cards that were good only if you got them under the right condition.
There are fewer 1 mana cards. This was a big part of the old deck - 1 mana was about half the deck. That was toned down quite a bit to make room for heavier minions so you wouldn't lose your steam after losing your low mana minions.
Along with 1 mana reduction, I took out 'silly Priest' combos of doubling health, and Inner Fireing. This allows for more consistency.
I try to keep opponent-rewarding cards to a minimum. I see many priests running Deathlord, however I have only poor experience with it.
Auchenai Soulpriest and Circle of Healing are required in most priest decks. I prefer to avoid that combo due to its variables that can cause more bad than good. Also that allows use of something other than Injured Blademaster. This is where Dark Cultist comes into play. With the requirements of Injured Blademaster being useful and the 'flip stats,' it performs more consistently, and well, better. It combos well with Defender of Argus.
Sludge Belcher is a strong 5 mana card and often overestimated. Because of this overestimation, you can use it not just for the stats, but as an extra advantage. Many people will use removal (sometimes rightfully so) on this, just to find out there was something better to silence, or that 5 damage could have been used better.
Jumping slightly out of order from minions back to spells, I want to cover Mindgames and Shadow MadnessMindgames is the opposite of Deathlord. You do not want Deathlord against any control deck or deck that runs strong minions. Mindgames also fits the theme of the deck. Which is "Card Thief". So, you get to thieve a minion from your opponents deck for 4 mana. It is a nice filler spell that can give you major advantage. Although there is sometimes an upset, you may have ended up not using that mana anyway. Shadow Madness  is just underrated in my opinion. I have traded, consistently, so many 2-for-1s that it has earned a spot in the deck - 2 spots, actually. Not only that, with the large amount of deathrattle cards, and other stuff, you can use the minion you take and trigger its effects and have those benefit you. Take a deathrattle minion that summons another minion, and gain that minion! Take a Loot Hoarder and you get his loots - err, a card.
Baron Geddon. This card... Well... is one of my few legendaries. Yes, I rarely see him used (in a few control warrior decks), but he performs so well and seems to scare so many opponents. I summon him and can finish off enemy minions easily. He also has the strong attack we need in this deck. 7 attack isn't light. After 3 turns with him hitting the face you are nearly guaranteed victory. This card can easily be misplayed and also has replacements. Do not use him and accidentally kill yourself! Also be sure to keep your minions (which you can heal) at high enough health as to not die. If you don't have him, you can find pretty much anything as a replacement. He was just a filler when I had 29 cards done. Depending on your needs, you may want another end-game finisher, or an early game taunt. Even a theme-fitting card works.
If I had Cabal Shadow Priest, I would use it! But I do not! :( It is a Mind Control in a chillwend yeti. With a catch, of course.
