Mulligan hard for either a Gadgetzan Auctioneer or Barnes, then mulligan for Arcane Blast or Flame Geyser. Once you play Gadgetzan Auctioneer, you will be able to cycle through the entire deck and kill the Omnotron defense system.

  • Not drawing Gadgetzan Auctioneer  or Barnes
  • If Arcanotron dies (probably due to not removing toxitron)
  • If Magmatron is alive during the combo (which probably only happens if you don't draw gadgetzan auctioneer or barnes in time)
  • If he Earth Shocks his own Electron (will generally only happen if Electron is frozen, and I haven't seen it done recently so idk if the AI still does that)

Useful Information

  • List of possible removals for Toxitron in order of best to use to worst to use: Arcane Blast, Flame Geyser, Frostbolt, Forgotten Torch. If you have already drawn your Gadgetzan Auctioneer or Barnes, Forgotten Torch is less important than frostbolt.
  • You have a maximum of 2 dead cards when cycling with Gadgetzan Auctioneer: Second Gadgetzan Auctioneer and Barnes, so drawing dead off of your auctioneer shouldn't be an issue.
  • This deck has 56 damage in it. The Omnotron Defense System only has 45 health. You shouldn't feel too bad about using a burn spell as removal as long as you don't go over your maximum, though keep in mind that you can ping to try and make up for a couple of points of damage.
  • Be patient when drawing cards. If you just cast everything you draw off the top of your deck, there are many cases where you will just die to fatigue or fill your hand and mill essential cards. Ray of Frost, Arcane Mysteries, and Arcane Intellect all draw more than 1 card with Gadget, and Flame Geyser adds a mostly useless elemental to your hand. Also, if your deck is empty and you cast Forgotten Torch, you will take fatigue damage before the roaring torch gets shuffled in.
  • Ever since Blizzard made the AI ever so slightly less shitty, the AI will sometimes Earth Shock Toxitron if there are one health minions on board, so even if you don't get a way to remove Toxitron, don't concede quite yet, because the AI might solve your problems for you.
  • When checking to see if you can survive until the next turn, keep in mind that the AI runs earth shock which they can use to unfreeze his minions, arcane missiles (5 damage with spell power) and enhance-o-mechano. It is better to be safe than sorry, so play around everything you can reasonably play around.

Card Replacements

In reality, the only cards that are truly necessary are Gadgetzan Auctioneer and enough burn to deal 45 damage (taking Arcanotron spell damage into account). However, with that said, many of the non-vital cards are still extremely important, such as Arcane Blast, Frost Nova and Barnes. On the other hand, cards like Counterspell are only marginally better than other secrets or spells and are easily replaced. Here are some guidelines I would use when picking replacements:

  • You should be playing 5 secrets, all as 1-ofs, to help enable arcane mysteries while also just being decent overall spells. The best one is usually Ice Block, as not dying is the main goal, but it really doesn't matter which secrets as long at the don't kill arcanotron.
  • Don't play any random damage or any AoE spells. If Arcanotron dies, you lose.
