Battletag: TophatDemon#11515
Aprox. Matchup Favorability:
Warrior (C'Thun/control) - 40-60
(Although the C'thun is more 45-55 due to the lack of as many clears)
C'Thun Druid - 70-30
Control Priest (any variation)- 30-70
Freeze Mage - 20-80
Tempo Mage- 60-40
Aggro Sham- 60-40
MId Sham - 55-45
Pleb Decks(Meta has not fully developed) - 75-25
HOW TO PLAY:
This is Zoo! Fight for board control then once you have it, keep it. Kill most high-level threat minons such as Tunnel Trogg or anything else with may pose a future/escalating risk and keep going face from there. This deck comfortably wins games by turns 5,6,7,8 Depending on draw.
MULLY:
VS AGGRO:
Get that early game baby! Flame Imps/VoidWalkers/ Villagers/Dark Peddlers are instant keeps. If you have a good hand curve and/or the coin, Spawn/Imp Gang/ Dark shire (although you really only want to keep darkshire if you can afford to keep ritual or have a lot to play) THE KEY THING HERE IS TO GET MINIONS THAT MAINTAIN BOARD DOMINANCE, You need to ALWAYS KEEP things that either already synergize (knife juggler + 1 drops) or that are super sticky (like the aforementioned Imp Gang Boss). If you might be against another zoo deck and have the coin, Sea Giant wins you the game so always keep.
VS CONTROL:
This is your unfavored match up if it's against Freeze/Control warr/Or priest but IT IS WINNABLE if you just keep calm and collected. Here you REALLY NEED Instant threats and board presence like FlameImps/Villagers/Peddlers (for options or just a turn 3)/Imp Gangs to establish and keep control of the board. SEA GIANTS ARE CRUCIAL here and are very good to keep with the coin as the sooner you play them the sooner you can win (REMEMBER BGH WAS NERFED). Also this is when Councilman shines as you can instantly start buffing him and HITTING THAT SWEET, SWEET FACE before they armor up or are able to clear your board.
KEEP YOUR CLEARS IN MIND :
Don't play into nova+Doomsayer, Holy Nova, Revenge, etc UNLESS YOU HAVE ENOUGH IN YOUR HAND TO RESTOCK. Greed gets you killed here. If your board is fat and you have a few minions that are relatively unchallenged, don't dump your hand just to have a full board because when they clear it and you can't refill: YOU LOSE.
Hope this helps you guys out. Feel free to comment (I try to read every single one) or follow/hit me up on twitter( @OS_TophatDemon) for anything else. Love y'all <3 .
Stay Legend.
CHANGES:
-1 FLAMEJUGGLER/+1 LEEROY
-1 SPAWN OF N'ZOTH/+1 GORMOK
POSSIBLE CHANGES : -1 RITUAL/ +1 ABUSIVE
THIS SHOULD BETTER YOUR CHANCES AGAINST THE EVER-INCREASING CONTROL META
sure, doomguard also works sometimes and can turn around game but as finisher you want to have leeroy
Are there replacements for the 2 Sea giants and gormok ?
Gormok can be a dark iron, sea giants can be frostwolfs
There is a possibility to make the deck more burst-oriented, replacing the giants with argent horseriders, and gormok with, as mentioned above, a dwarf, but that is another concept
Gormok, Leeroy, Sea Giant, ritual x1, argus x1 replacements?
Gormok and Leeroy replacements?
Subs at the bottom of the guide
Great deck. Didn't have leeroy. So I replaced him with reckless rocketeer. Hit legend for the first time. That win streak from rank 10
I swapped flame juggler with Shifter Zerus and he comes out ahead when games go on longer than needed.
Basically an auto concede against any of the number of control decks unfortunately now.
Good question. How did you? I felt like I couldn't do anything against any types of control like Priest, Warrior, even Rogue. They were able to handle my board and overwhelm me. Could just be an issue of git gud, though.
How to replace Leeroy Jenkins ?
Look up top, it tells you what mode the deck is used for.
Standard.
Great deck, but very weak vs patron warrior. Patron have full control this deck!!!
Every deck as a counter...common sense champ
I purchased LoE in my asia account but not BRM, what should I replace imp gang boss with? Imp master/harvest golem/shattersun? I am currently using 1 Imp master and 1 branbronzebeard to replace the imp gang bosses. Having moderate success with it.
Only can craft if own it or if is no longer in standard
Thanks a lot for the deck, I got to legend on eu server using this deck only from rank 8 (with slight modifications)
Can i ask what your modifications were brother? I really love the deck, though i'm undecided on x2 sea giants.
-1 [card]Flame Juggler[/card] - I feel it doesn't have enough impact, and while the 2/3 body is not bad, there are better cards that can be played.
-1 [card]Spawn of N'Zoth[/card] - This card really let me down. The 2/2 body is bad for a 3-drop, and it is hard to utilize the deathrattle, unless you already have a big advantage.
-1 [card]Sea Giant[/card] - To be honest, [card]Sea Giant[/card] is an amazing card for this deck, and removing one may not be the smartest thing to do. The real reason that I withdrew one is that when I built this deck, I had no [card]Sea Giant[/card]s at all, and I didn't feel like crafting two. I thought that I would craft one and see if I can make it work, and the answer is yes.
+1 Brann Bronzebeard - Honestly, I don't know how this card didn't make it to the deck in the first place. There are so many good battlecries in this deck ([card]Dark Peddler[/card], [card]Abusive Sergeant[/card], [card]Defender of Argus[/card], and of course, while hard to pull off, if you can get double battlecry from [card]Gormok the Impaler[/card], it can be a game changer). Other than that, you get a good 2/4 body, and "semi-taunt": your opponent will many times go nuts trying to remove Brann Bronzebeard. I feel like Brann Bronzebeard is the main change that I have made, and would suggest everyone to put him in this deck. Just be careful about triggering [card]Flame Imp[/card]'s battlecry twice (usually [card]Leeroy Jenkins[/card] is played as a finisher, so triggering his battlecry twice usually has no effect)
+1 Shattered Sun Cleric - When I withdrew [card]Spawn of N'Zoth[/card], I looked for an alternative 3-drop that plays the same role. Shattered Sun Cleric has a better body, and the battlecry effect means you can benefit from the stats-bonus right away: either offensively (using the 1 attack to kill a bigger minion that you couldn't) or defensively (using the 1 health to save a minion while trading). Also, it synergies with Brann Bronzebeard. I guess that there are other 3-drops that can take her place, such as Harvest Golem.
+1 Acidic Swamp Ooze - This is more of an anti-meta card. While I don't have statistics, it feels like I face mainly warriors and shamans. If you play against a warrior, and he plays Fiery War Axe at turn 2 (or turn 1 with The Coin), you could be in so much trouble, that sometimes this alone can snowball into you losing the match. If you play against a shaman, destroying an expensive weapon such as Doomhammer can be a serious blow to him. And the good thing about this card is that you get a great 3/2 body, which means that against classes without weapons, it is still a good 2-drop. Note that Acidic Swamp Ooze is a better choice than Harrison Jones because you usually want to play Acidic Swamp Ooze right after the warrior plays his first Fiery War Axe, and 2-mana 3/2 body is better than a 5-mana 5/4 body, which means that Acidic Swamp Ooze is a better card to play when the battlecry has no effect. Also, a warlock doesn't need the card-draw that Harrison Jones offers so badly.
This came out longer than I expected. Feel free to ask more.
