About DECK:

Gabe Wells, a World Champion in Magic: the Gathering, recently hit Legend in just 2.5 days. He held a Reddit AMA and shares his thoughts on Hearthstone and this deck. This inspired me to play handlock - i went from unranked to rank 3 in less then 70 games.

The Legendary Heavy Warlock Control deck is exceptionally fun to play, and it has great potential in high ranked play. Against aggressive decks, it is easy to establish and maintain control, while against other control decks, your Hero Power gives you all the card advantage you need.

The basic plan of the deck is to hoard cards in your hand at the start of the game, allowing you to play extremely cheap Mountain Giants and extremely strong Twilight Drakes. You can then give these minions Taunt with your Sunfury Protectors and Defender of Argus. Doing so will quickly overwhelm your opponents, especially since you can use your many other tools to get rid of their minions (with spells like HellfireShadow Bolt, Siphon Soul, or even [card]Shadowflame[/card] on one of your giants should you need to get rid of a very big minion).

As your health drops lower, you will be able to play very cheap (or even free) Molten Giants which can often save you when given Taunt with Sunfury Protector or Defender of Argus.

Alexstrasza can be used to heal your hero if your health drops below 15, or it can inflict a lot of damage to your opponent if they are at full health.

Lord Jaraxxus is an excellent finisher, as it will instantly put your opponent under immense pressure and it can heal your hero if you are below 15 health. You will gain access to a brand new Hero Power that summons 6/6 Infernals for 2 mana, as well as a 3/8 weapon.

This deck is structured to be very control/combo orientated. For most muligans you want to keep Ancient Watcher,Sunfury Protector,Hellfire(if you know you are facing heavy aggro) And of course last but not least Mountain Giant!!!Other good cards include: SoulfireDefender of Argus and sometimes Shadowflame because Shadowflame can be hard to draw. Again, Molten Giant is not bad to mulligan for if you know your opponent is an aggro-type.

Edit 1:  Big Game Hunter instead of a Mortal Coil - helps with mirrors and taunt druids
