This deck is my personal drop which I play with. It is based on my experience with control type warlocks cause I really dont like murlock rush or smth like that. I have checked many decks here to find the best with Lord Jaraxxus cause I really like him, my favorite legendary. But I was surprised when I found not so many rated\good decks to play, some were too heavy some were not need Lord Jaraxxus at all. So here is my Lord Jaraxxus Based deck and some instructions how do you play it. I have to say for current Meta the rush warlocks, paladins, semi-rush hunters seems to be the best options, but with this deck you can FACE any trouble and if you play smart, you will win.
So here are some tips about how to play this.
1. The Giants are awesome, Molten Giant and Mountain Giant they are so good especially when everybody try to rush you. You can easilly comeback from 1-14 hp. with Molten Giant using it with Defender of Argus You can use Mountain Giant for low mana also, cause your hand will be always full with this deck.
2. AOE and removals! Show the rushers how you hate them! Burn em down with Hellfire, you see they are trying to rush you with 1 hp minions? 2x Mortal Coil will deal with it. Dont like terrible druid beasts for 3 mana? Shadow Bolt. Dont like big creatures with tauns or Holy Shields on em? Here you are! Siphon Soul. And if you totally lost your board control somehow you still has a wayout! Twisting Nether. Here is some supersecret removal for you, Power Overwhelming is situational and can be used in many ways, especially good with Harvest Golem but after that you can use Shadowflame and surprise your enemy with ONE MORE AOE REMOVAL!
3. Need some healing while waiting for Jaraxxus or you want to lifetap like insane? This deck has some healing options for you! Siphon Soul + Earthen Ring Farseer
4. Not sure to draw Jaraxxus? Want him more often in your hand? Sense Demons This card is for you. Since you only have 2x Voidwalker and Illidan Stormrage as a demons your chance of picking Lord Jaraxxus is extremly HIGH. I got him in 80% times I use this card with no demons in my hand.
5. Twilight Drake is an awesome 4 turn card usually comes with 7-9 hp for me, dont be ashame to life tap, your hand is good when it's full right?
6. Faceless Manipulator This card is priceless and give you even more options how to play this deck. You can use it on enemy legendaries or just the powerfull cards, or you can make UNBREAKABLE COMBOS LIKE Molten Giant OR Mountain Giant + Faceless Manipulator + Defender of Argus on turn 9-10 or in 2 steps on turn 4-5\5-6 if you are low on hp or have full hand.
7. Illidan Stormrage is just a good card for 6 mana with 7\5 and nice ability. Use it for pressure if you can.
8. Taunts Defender of Argus + Voidwalker + Fen Creeper + Sunwalker This is why this control deck is so hard to beat. The taunds will be such pain in the ass for rush decks. They will let you live and start easy comebacks with...
9. ... Lord Jaraxxus
Here we go. This is why this deck exist. My favorite legendary in hearthstone. Everyone is always afraid when he low down the warlock health and then there is no more warlock but Jaraxxus with 15 hp and insane powers, He have 3\8 weapon while you summon it and super 6\6 creature for just 2!!! mana. If you have some Defender of Argus you can easilly taunt em and make your incredible comeback. The whole point of you wasting your hp in this deck is for him to comeback you. you use cheap golems\taunting em and lowing your hp, knowing that Jaraxxus is coming. Until that you play nice board control with tons of powerfull taunts\annoying cards\removals. This card is so fun to play, I can imagine peoples faces when hey almost won you but now THEY FACE JARAXXUS, EREDOR LORD OF THE BURNING LEGION!
SO I have decided to give some info about mulligan for better understanding.
First of all you got to realise what are you facing. If you are up against some hunters\rush warlocks\any rush in fact you sure want to have some removals, prefect starting hand will be something like Hellfire + Shadow Bolt + Voidwalker + Mortal Coil. If you are facing control ype of deck such as druid\priest or you know opponent play any other type of control then try to have Twilight Drake + Harvest Golem + Earthen Ring Farseer + maybe even Mountain Giant.
In fact cards like Voidwalker or Shadow Bolt or Mortal Coil or Harvest Golem or Twilight Drake or Hellfire or Earthen Ring Farseer are really good in your starting hand, If you have golem, you can drop any other 3 or higher mana cost card and try to get something better, and as always it's all comes down to you predicting the enemy turns, your general knowledge of the game and your playstyle, as example enemy is playing swarm of minions and you can use Hellfire now to kill 2-3 minions, but you know he will be putting some more creatures next turn, you can w8 and use Hellfire to kill more minions, and win by getting more damage in your face. Another example - you wasted Siphon Soul on something like Sen'jin Shieldmasta and then enemy plays something like Tirion Fordring and you have no removal left for it. Play smart, play fair and you will win.
HI is this deck still good ? what rank your reach with it ?
and i don't have sludge belcher with what i can replace it ? fen creeper ? senjin ?
Probably Sen'jin, but I'd highly recommend coughing up 700 gold or $7 for at least the Plague Quarter of Naxx.
Have you tested this deck for this new season? Any changelist?
I recommend Sludge Belcher instead of [card]Fen Creeper [/card]. Ok it is 1 Health less but for taunting it is better, 2 rounds of protection
For my deck I only use 1x Voidwalker. I think we don't need that many 1 mana summoning anyway. I often use Voidwalker as a low cost taunting to protect my hero at low Health. I also don't use [card]Sense Demons[/card]. It is a waste because I get [card]Jaraxxus[/card] almost every game I need him
I also suggest Mind Control Tech because the opponent at lower rank (20-17) tend to use a lot of minions against this deck
My deck now still lacks of Molten, Illidan and Twisting Nesther and sometimes I feel that I really need them
Summoning Jarraxxus against Mage is a risk if they have Archmage Antonidad. With 12 manas Mage can use 3x Fireball, and that will be doom for Jaraxxus in only 2 turns. And we still not even mention Pyroblast. I still win both 2 times in this situation but only because I have Faceless Manipulator on my hand at both 2 times
I'm now at Rank 17. Climbing the ladder is a bit difficult at this moment with this deck. Also It is the beginning of a season anyway. But yes, it is really fun. Not just a plan or a strategy, it's a philosophy. I'm glad that I saw this thread.
Sludge Belcher is actually good in current meta, but Sense Demons is needed exactly foe those moments where you can't get jaraxxus while needed, Mind Control Tech is a Arena card mostly, rarelly play in constructed, In wanks 20-17 maybe, but you can reach rank 15-5 with this deck, antodias is well know of his sickness sometimes, as well as frozen mage, there are tons of cards in this game if played correctly and in the right monment will seem OP, it's not about antodias or not
Having a lot of trouble vs miracle, any tips?
Don't summon the minions too soon, let the opponent wasting their spells first, I think?
How to kill Blood Imp? This guy is annoying but I only get him with Hellfire at 4 mana. Also it is unable for this deck to stop the opponent playing minions each turn, so it means they get +4 health or more until I scan the board
Replacement for ilidian, manipulator, and twisting nether?
What are the best replacements for illidian, faceless, and twisting nether?
Really fun deck to play around with. After I got Jaraxxus in a pack I started playing a heavily modified version until I got enough dust to craft the twilight drakes and sun walker I needed. I still lack aFaceless Manipulator,Molten Giant, and Illidan Stormrage, I replace them with anotherMountain Giant, Sylvanas, andBane of Doom. It's a bit more YOLO, but I enjoy the ride. Cheers!
Nice deck, it's fresh and cool. Can you tell examples of Twisting Nether use? I found only one - use it on next turn after putting Jaraxxus, and you have after it 2 mana to place inferno.
Also, can you share you matchups expirience. Im interesting about easy and hard decks to play with this one.
So I can't seem to win with this deck, I've went against Shaman, Hunter, Mage, and now Warrior. I must be doing something horribly wrong, or getting very unlucky. I have every card, and so far, it's been pretty terrible. Any pointers on combos I should be trying to combine?
I just noticed that it's only a completely new deck then the one I had been saving up to build... >.> , you must have changed a third of the deck, cause the one u had before is the poop I'm dealing with now.
Best tip I can give is: you don't have to play every playable card in your hand. (For instance, if you have 3 mana, you're better off lifetapping into a Turn 4 Mountain Giant rather than playing a Harvest Golem
Please note that this comment is referred to CaptnChaos85.
Yeah, I just needed more practice with it, after a TON of casual games, I'm finally back to climbing the ladder, Thanks for deck, it's real fun. :)
I like the originality of this deck, and it is certainly very fun to play; but I can't help but wonder at what ranks people are having so much success with this build. More experienced players, or strong decks, will rip through your taunts and fat minions with hard removals, and if they play cautiously, they will break you down between your AoE. There are so many spells in this deck that I can't help but feel as though it lacks board presence.
I do enjoy playing this deck, it's one of the most fun decks I've used, but I'm not so sure it's as strong as people are claiming. At higher ranks, it feels that it's getting ripped apart.
I upvoted the deck for it's unique style and the fun of playing with it. I'll keep working away with it until I can make a final verdict of it's efficacy at higher ranks, though.
I have managed to get rank 5 with this deck pretty easy in current meta, people use huge removals for taunts? so what you also have tons of removals, and when jaraxxus shows up you can inferno + argus pretty easy when the opponent already wasted removals. Noone uses such removals as hellfire much on warlock so it surprises people almost every time and speeds up molten giant.
Aggro decks crap all over this deck if they have a clue. I am sure I will get downvoted but I find it hard to believe people are hitting high ranks with this deck and/or having a lot of success in general. I suspect one person getting rank 5 is not the norm when using this deck.
Yeah, there is a lot of removal - if you pull the cards you need. The mana curve on this deck is skewed heavily, and you're often fairly weak early. You can eat a lot of damage before or between hellfires. Voidwalkers are removed easily by any 3 dmg turn 2 minion, or SW:P, Frostbolt, Fiery War Axe, etc. etc. They're almost useless against a player who has a clue. As for the Infernal + Argus combo, chances are you will have needed to use your Argus earlier. This deck takes gobs and gobs of damage while waiting for Jaraxxus.
Then you get your hard removals, ideally being used after they play some beefy minion. Well, if you're at a disadvantage early (easy with this deck) you have to wait until turn 6 for a hard removal. You're eating damage the whole time you're trying to field Jaraxxus.
I get that it's fun - it is fun to play but I don't think it's that effective at higher ranks. It sucks to say it too, because I hate Warlock aggro decks - they're boring. This deck, though, as fun as it is, lacks board presence. If you don't get the exact cards you need, you are screwed. Other decks are more versatile - you can manage to work your way through a problem with different options. This deck, not so much.
I appreciate the effort that went into making it, and I'm still going to use it (as I said, it's fun) but it's not a high ranking deck. Without the proper cards at the proper time you are borked.
I got Jaraxxus from a pack yesterday and saw this Deck and gave it a go. It took me some games to get used to it (I'm not overly experienced yet and still learning a lot of basics and make a fair few mistakes) but after getting used to this deck I loved it. It's lots of fun to play.
I don't have Illidan Stormrage yet unfortunately but it seems to work well without this card as well :) I replaced it with corruption for some more board clearance.
Thanks for posting this, looking forward to play it some more :)
