Incomplete Guide. Make sure I don't forget to finish by asking questions
Firebat Won NESL #21 with this deck.
Firebat Is Currently #1 NA with this deck.
AtaK has been #1 NA for a long time now, briefly losing his place to Kolento for a period of time. But almost immediately taking it back. This is also the deck I have played this season to get to top 10 legend NA, but am now #12 in NA.

About the deck:
The deck is very similar to Miracle Rogue in the sense that it takes advantage of the rogues cheap removal to get value out of the Gadgetzan Auctioneer, but is very different in the sense that the deck not only has board presence, which miracle rogues do not. But also does not solely rely on getting the Gadetzan Auctioneer and can actually without it win that match. Also the deck is reactive and you must interact with your opponent where as in Miracle Rogue you have much much less interaction with your opponent so the rhythm of your game is revolved more around your draws rather than what the opponent does. In this deck that is not the case, you must interact with your opponent and play around things more often.
What's with Malygos (Does it work?)
Malygos is a strong finisher with combos like Malygos + Sinister Strike (8 dmg) + Bladeflurry (6 dmg to all enemy characters). However the strongest part of this finisher is that your opponent has to play around leeroy as soon as they start getting low, so all through the game they will be putting up taunts and playing inefficiently because they are scared of getting leeroy comboed. So, the slow down of them doing that can allow for the game to be long enough for Malygos combos to happen.
General Play Style
The general play style is to control the board and react to your opponents. So for example Coin + SI:7 and just hitting face is unnecessary, in most cases. You want to hold your dagger, and your cards to setup plays where you can control and as you control you will be able to get in little poke damage and draw cards. Almost like a tempo deck.
Mulligan Choices
I saw reynad's hunter get wrecked by Atak (this deck) today...it seems atak replaced something with assassin blade...do you by any chance have his updated deck? and what are your thoughts about a 2nd sap? say...over one of the blade flurries
sick deck though....really fun and is honestly the first deck where I have to actually sit down and think for a bit.
He replaced 1 loot hoarder for the Assassins Blade, and I agreed with this change and did so as well in mine for winning NESL and for my appearance on King of the Hill.
I told you in your stream (got legend with your druid deck last season) but this season im getting legend again with one of your decks (with atak's permission ) :D ty man (both of you)
This deck is really, really good.
what about subbing malygod for alex? im gonna play around with the card combos as i need to replace vancleef(DE'D :(( ) and maly. although i do have leeroy and rag
I like the concept but seems frail without a conceal
AtaK plays only this deck and is currently #1 Legend in NA. And I am currently #12 Legend in NA by playing only this deck while in Legend Ranking. The concept is tested and works.
Fair enough if its tested , but without conceal seems like you are waiting an extra amount of time for the right cards. Especially if you are not a minion heavy deck in this meta alot of people are going to be sitting on 2+ hard removal. So just saying without conceal none of the minions in the deck have very much staying power for next turn
Conceal is 1 mana that is wasted in this deck. The amount of minions and the usage of vancleef are not linked with Conceal play. I want them to spend their turn using their mana to remove my creatures so that you build up a lead in tempo throughout the game, and that small mana advantage accumulates because they have to find ways to deal with your creatures while subsequently putting up taunts.
I ran into AtaK running what i guess was an early version of this deck in unranked a few days ago. Being attracted to his shiny gold rogue and legend card backs I decided to add him after the game for a friendly "well played" message. I was quite shocked to see that I had just added the number 1 ranked player on NA to my friends list! He's actually been kind enough to not delete me 3 days later and I am ever grateful :D
Ya he's a really cool guy :D
I dig this deck, I actually was in your twitch stream when you and AtaK were playing it. A question though, is this a viable for laddering or will it have troubles. Also I know malygos is key, but is it possible to play it without him (her? I'm not a WoW nerd sorry if I offend anyone) anyway thanks for all the decks.
Ya for sure it is viable for ladder, me and AtaK both used it to grind up this season. Him all the way through his entire season and me just while in the legend ranks. And you can swap Malygos for Ragnaros, or you can drop 2 Sinister Strikes for Shadow Steps, and drop Malygos for Leeroy.
Wouldn't Leeroy + SS be more reliable considering that you can draw into them somewhat easily and burst the enemy from turn 6 onwards, whereas Malygos requires to stay on the board for a turn barring preparation for spell-casting?
I mean sure, it bypasses taunts and has a higher potential damage total, but it requires more preparation.
the answer to your question is in the guide...
