***I'm currently in the works of writing a Guide Series/Small Book called: From Novice To Expert - Learning Hearthstone Rankedwhich focuses on educating newer and veteran players alike about getting into competitive Hearthstone. It mostly will be filled with Terminology, Deck Archetypes, Meta Gaming, and more. Feel free to like my Facebook page for updates on the progress!***

A Little About Me

I am a 16x Legend Player with 2x Top 100 finishes who goes by the battletag WingsOfWax or WingsOfWaxIII on other social media (FacebookTwitter, Tumblr, Twitch, and YouTube). I have over 15+ Years of Magic: The Gathering Experience, but as of the release of Hearthstone: Beta been converted to this new and exciting card game.

Over the past year, I have been creating videos, articles, and casting live streams to help educate newer players about Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. As of right now, I am mostly known in the Hearthpwn.com community for creating a Naxxramas + 2,000 Dust Budget Guide 11 Deck series as well as putting Burst Rogue back into fruition.

These days I am working full time, go to school, and still create Hearthstone content whenever I find my schedule allows it. I love educating all types of players whether new or veterans about becoming a better strategy card gamer. I am creating this guide (and others) to help educate and grow the Hearthstone Community even further.

Introduction to my YouTube Channel:

Today I have a deck that both budget & veteran players can compete with in the s24 Ranked Ladder. The deck I'm talking about is Burst Zoolock. The idea is very much similar to the Burst Rogue deck I've showcased in the past, but as of right now seems to be much more consistent in the Warlock shell.

Warning: This is an aggro deck. It has inconsistencies similar to any other Aggressive strategy and is not exactly straight forward to play. There is a lot (not all) of SMOrc'ing (Face is the Place) to be done, but you will have to plan out your turns according to how your hand is sculpted for optimal plays that leave you in the driver seat. Playing out this deck takes time and practice to fully master and play well, but it can be done and eventually could take you to the Legend status you desire.

Budget Deck Options

Budget Decks v1.1 Options -

Some perks of playing this deck are:

-Having 12+ points of Burst Damage consistently to close out games.

-An Aggressive Zoolock shell, which is something newer players should learn first

-In-Depth planning to ensure you give yourself the best possible outs or ways to kill your opponent

-If you are a veteran player, you now have a reason to play Leeroy Jenkins (over Arcane Golem)

-Developing your skills vs each individual class

-Crazy Kills when you least expect them (or your opponent for that matter)

Card Choices:

1x Mortal Coil - This card shines when aggro is the most prominent decks in the meta game. If you find yourself dueling mostly Secret Paladins, Zoolock Mirrors, Hunters, and Aggro Shaman decks then a second Coil could be useful. For now I think 1x Coil is a perfect number since my meta is a mixed breed.

2x Soulfire - Used as a pseudo finisher that can get past large Taunt minions. Very rare to be used on an opposing minion, but occasionally the situation comes up. Most of the time this will be the last Burst Spell cast in your hand to kill an opponent quickly.

1x Darkbomb - I'm currently not sold on Darkbomb, which is why only 1 copy made it into the list. Having 2x feels a bit clunky since most of the time I'd much rather have a minion. Most of the time is counted towards your end game Burst plan, but gives you the option to use it on a minion (only if it lets you push for extra damage tho).

1x Arcane Golem/Leeroy Jenkins - This card is interchangeable with Leeroy Jenkins (anyone looking for a non-budget version). The deck really just needs a solid minion that finishes the game and Arcane Golem fits the bill. This allows you on, an empty board, to get value out of Abusive Sergeant and Power Overwhelming.

2x Piloted Shredder - Just a solid minion that is sticky to push for damage. You typically need a solid 3 or 4 drop to compete with opposing Midrange or Control decks and Shredder is our best option.

2x Azure Drake - This fills our need for a 5-drop minion that also digs you deeper into your deck for more Burst. The spell power can occasionally be useful for those extra points of Burst or generating a few more Imps from Imp-losion.

2x Loot Hoarder - A 2-drop that either deals damage or draws you closer to your Burst Damage to end the game quickly.

2x Flame Juggler [/card]- An early minion that has the added benefit of occasionally killing an opposing 1-drop. Typically is worth at least 3-damage between attacking and its Battlecry effect, but in minion form.

2x [card]Loot Hoarder -  Are worth at least 2 points of damage or helping you draw further into your deck to draw your burst. A cheap mana costed minion that can get more value in matchups that don't have a Hero Power to deal with it.

All of the other cards in this deck do not seem like they need any explanation. However, there are a few honorable mentions that I should talk about quickly.

Honorable Mentions:

Haunted Creeper - Solid minion, however is too slow and not enough damage for this style of deck.

Nerubian Egg - This deck does not have enough support cards to warrant Egg. Nerubian Egg typically is a slower style of card that is used to generate value. The current deck at hand however is extremely aggressive and wants the most straight forward aggro minions.

Defender of Argus - For a while he was a consideration, but ended up getting left behind because of the lack of Nerubian Eggs and Haunted Creepers. You would rather have a solid 4-drop minion that doesn't require any work to be good such as Piloted Shredder.

Doomguard - This was one of the hardest cards to axe from the list in my opinion. However when you are building a Burst style deck, you need all the cards you can get for the amount of damage that is necessary in killing your opponent. Doomguard is better in a deck that isn't trying to finish the game in a OTK (One-Turn-Kill).

Dr. Boom - If you are in a mostly Midrange and Control meta game, Boom is surely a thought. However if  you are unsure of your current meta, then play the deck as is for a while. Subbing out Loatheb for Boom seems like the slot I'd change.

How to play the deck:

When there is nothing much going on for your opponent, for the most part you should be dealing face damage, but often killing opposing minions that disrupt your board presence tends to be more accurate.

Be sure to play around board clears best you can (max of 3 minions to prevent blow outs).

Around Turns 6-10 you will count up the burn cards in your hand and make a preparation swing for lethal on the following turn.

Just about every matchup is winnable, but it mostly depends on how well positioned you are from your opponent early in the game. If I had to define good from bad...

Good Matchups

Freeze Mage
Midrange Hunter

Above Fair Matchups
Midrange Druid
Control Warrior
Zoolock
Tempo Mage

Fair Matchps

Secret Paladin
Aggro Shaman

Below Fair Matchups

v1.1 Decklist and Gameplay

If you are looking for a deck that maximizes your time and is competitive, this is the right deck for you. The deck is also Budget Friendly and can be altered slightly depending on what your collection looks like.

I will do my best to answer each question in the comments about swapping cards, but ultimately use your best judgement when deciding what you can substitute and what you cannot.

Here's to hoping this deck/guide is in some way beneficial to your Grinding Experience! The deck has performed extremely well for me and won games I thought were not possible to do so.

If your looking for a deck to get you out of the lower Ranks, this one will surely do the trick when piloted reasonably well.
