**Update, got to rank 22 with this deck!
Here to share with you my Tempo Combo priest deck. It's fun to play and can win against almost any deck. Has a solid win rate, is cheap on dust, and can be tinkered to fit the meta!
General mulligan tips:
- Search for Chow, cleric, curator, and deathlord.
- Don't keep spells unless you already have minions to play them on and even then lose Velen's unless you have 2 creatures or coin.
- If you have zombie chow, you can keep holy nova vs paladin/zoo and lightbomb if you know its patron.
Play tips:
- This is largely a tempo deck that can comeback with wipes and win with otk. Maintaining board presence is important.
- Try to bait out silence or targeted effects like execute/sap/keeper uldaman/bgh before you buff too much.
- Knowing when to take the risks and developing is how you win
- Djinni is a way around this to develop two threats together.
- People aren't expecting otk priest so baiting isn't too hard. Bait silence/sap on Velens/Shield/Deathlord and if they don't you can assume they don't have it.
- Djinni and Power Word Shield on another creature draws you two cards, and isn't too hard to pull off.
- Deathlord is very important to this deck, keep it alive as long as possible and try not to play it on a board where they can kill it in one turn, with abusive or PO.
Matchups:
There are a few bad matches. Freeze mage, because the only way to kill a doomsayer is inner fire/death which I did once. Can definetely win vs Freeze mage but they have to draw poorly. I have found that they will often play doomsayer early to avoid it getting entombed which is good for us. Currently not facing too many freeze, could add loatheb if I was.
Mid-range hunter is bad, if they run hunters mark or owls, and freezing trap can be a pain but thats always true. Also no entomb for highmane so unless you have board and tempo and taunts it will walk over you.
Eboladin can be bad, they rush face a lot and then have keeper of uldaman, sometimes owl too. This deck does have the ability to run out of cards to avoid divine favor.
Favored matches would be Face Shaman and Patron Warrior. Also druid, which is pretty common and a large part of the success.
Stats are below, gives an idea of what the meta is right now. If you have questions about cards or play ask I'll be happy to answer, and let us rise above the cancer!
I've updated my stats, V1.0 includes my legend climb and some legend games. V1.1 is my switch to Piloted shredder for a more tempo four drop. Pretty much all of v1.1 is near or below rank 100 so this deck is strong right now, and my increased win rate is in part to the shredder, but also becoming more familiar with the deck and the choices required,
Even world champions have fallen to this deck.
I don't have any software to record gameplay and don't intend to, but nat_hs recorded a couple games of his so you can get a feel for how the deck plays.
Museum curator replacement?
Djinni replacement?
Reasonable replacement for Lightbomb?
If you're planning to play priest decks, then I really do recommend you to just craft 2 Lightbombs, it is probably the best card in priest. No good replacements for it.
i mean, it is getting obsolete 'cause of standard and i thought on replacing it with Excavated Evil
Excavated evil could work, or just shadow word death. Meta has changed as so has this deck will perform and how to build it.
I've played about 40 games with this deck in the past few days between rank 7-4. I really feel like echoing ooze is something that can't be ignored in this deck. Often times the ooze results in 3 minions getting buffed when you have a Djinni in play. I swapped out a Cabal for an ooze as the opportunity for stealing 2 health minions from turn 6 onwards was just too rare, and I wanted a bit more early game.
The current secret paladin, agro paladin, and zoo can still be too overwhelming in the early game. Too often they easily walk through deathlord and can steam roll anything else the deck can drop early. Holy nova on turn 5 is just too late when you are getting run over.
The deck is really fun though. 40+ damage unexpected OTKs from full health are a blast to pull off. But deathlord flopping Grom for your opponent on turn 3 is not...
I never thought about putting ooze into this deck but I could see how it'd work well. Haven't played this deck recently but think it should do fine, although now that secret paladins are playing 1-2 keepers of uldamann it'd probably be worse than it was.
Although i'm noob, I have to tell you guys who are sayin this deck sux and it's slow and etc., obviously u just don't understand the strategy of it, that's all. I was such a noob with it for like 14 days, i've went from 13 to 20, but I didnt't gave up and did some learning, checked few good players with it and so on. With me, the biggest problem was, that I was relying on the Djinni of Zephyrs too much, that I didn't even realize, that most of the time, the real combo is happening in early game with mostly Zombie Chow, Northshire Cleric, Deathlord, Velen's Chosen and fair amount of thinking when it comes to heal as you have to maintain board control. The full potential of Djinni (2x 46/46 or etc.) happens rarely and being eager to do it will eventually kill you. Now i have 9-0 and i'm on 11 with streak.
One question - replace for Dr. Boom? So far I'm replacing with Elise Starseeker and it's going fine, tho I don't need her in 95% of games, so maybe u'll advise me a better one. I have Naxx and LoE wings only.
Glad you've found success finally, those saying it's slow isn't playing the deck right and thus losing it's more of a tempo deck. Boom is in there just as an independent threat, could replace with Toshley, Ysera, Cairne, sylvanas or if not those you could use loathebb if you have naxx wings.
Loatheb or Sylvanas Windrunner; Loatheb saved me more time my ass than i can count, Sylvanas because she makes the enemy turn awkward for him. Naturally Dr. Boom is better than both of them: simply because he's the only minion that is a win-condition by himself.
Thanks guys both :-) I miss few more dusts for the Boom as I see him as a good board cleaner, which may sometimes come in handy. I thought about Elise, cos some matchups tends to be long, but i'll prolly roll with Loatheb for now.
Loatheb was great advice :-) Thanks m8
0-5 with this crap deck, way too fucking slow.
Way too slow in the current meta
Pretty common replacement, not everyone has lightbombs but if you do play them. This deck has multiple win conditions, Djinni is just one of them honestly deathlords are more important than Djinni.
This deck has one win condition. And if there's an iceblock or taunt in the way, you're gunna lose regardless. Dropped from 12 to 18, terrible deck
Created an account to say this: I like the deck so much! I have a blast playing it and laugh so much after some ridiculous combos (e.g. curator -> legend shredded -> kelthuzad)
omg dude this deck is totally crazy im on a 6 win streak
You need the most perfect curve and rng to survive the early game and even then if you dont draw your removal late there is not much you can do.
