Hey fellas!
Climbed to rank 5 in 1 day!
Hf with it!
**Update**
Made a few changes, trying a different approach (more aggro).
I love this deck! Finally a viable Midrange Shaman deck. It is also one of the few decks where Lava Shock can be consistently used as a tempo card. My favorite mid-game tempo play is turn 5 Earth Elemental, turn 6 Lava Shock +Fireguard Destroyer, turn 7 Fire Elemental. If you managed an aggro Shaman like opening (Tunnel Trogg/Totem Golem/Lightning Bolt/Feral Spirit), the opponent has no answer for your big hitters.
So, I have tweaked the deck a bit, using some of Vugore's suggestions, and made the following changes:
-2 Crackle (undid your latest changes)
-1 Elemental Destruction (undid your latest changes)
-1 Tuskarr Totemic
-1 Bloodmage Thalnos
-1 Piloted Shredder
+1 Jeweled Scarab
+1 Hex (undid your latest changes)
+1 Lightning Storm (undid your latest changes)
+1Healing Wave (undid your latest changes)
+1 Fire Elemental (undid your latest changes)
+1 Charged Hammer
I swapped Talnos with Scarab. The reason for this is that I seldom had use for Thalnos +1 spell damage, and it just stayed in my hand. Shaman has so many good 3 drops, so the Jeweled Scarab is my flexible card advantage provider. Scarab is also a real 2 drop which Shaman usually lacks. Charged Hammer is one of my favorite cards, and it has given me a lot of value in control matchups.
I'm currently at rank 10 (climbed from 14), and I will try to get to rank 5 with this deck. Zoo looks to be the weakest matchup of this deck, but it crushes Midrange/combo Druid! At the moment I'm happy with my current edition of the deck. It is a very flexible deck, and can be formed depending on the meta in your current rank.
I really missed playing a midrange Shaman, so I prefer that version of the deck instead of the more aggressive one. I think Jeweled Scarab really fits this deck very well.
Which card did you remove for the Charged Hammer btw? I love this card big time
Thanks for the info!
I like your changes with the additions of charged hammer, feral spirit. I added 1 unbound elemental and kel'thuzad.
I tried your changes and it's great. Charged Hammer lets you apply pressure and better control the board, and the deck doesn't have any synergy with the totems anyway.
Same here, the unbound elementals works as a ligthing rod for silences and removals, also im using mist caller instead of charged hammer, working great
Awesome stuff. Running it before the changes, I got to run a Spirit Wolf into a BGH... which was used to kill a one-drop... before a 7/6 Fireguard and Earth Ele lead to a "You win... this time." Will test it with one Unbound, think it's better than Tuskarr tbh
Most fun deck I've played in a long time, here's a free thumbs up to you!
Yeah, definitely prefer the Unbound to the Tuskarr. That thing gets out of control FAST if kept unchecked.
At last adequate Earth Elemental deck.
Swapped BGH for Unbound Elemental for great 3 mana slot with tons of overloads (real reason is for elemental theme pfff).
I like how Fireguards and Shredders swapping places, but Earth and Fire elementals are so damn clunky here.
Replacement for Earth Elemental?
What'd you think about adding The Mistcaller to this deck?
Im like the idea , alreadyb do, worth it, at least in lowers rank (16-14)
Do you actually need the Big Game Hunter since you are running 2x Hex?
Is there a possible space to fit in one or even 2 Tuskarr Totemic?
Quite a cool deck. Sometimes you get a start that makes you seem like an aggro shaman and your opponent plays a tempo BGH, only to face a turn 5 7/8 taunt out of nowhere, and that suprise can win games.
I don't have fireguard destroyers, so I replaced them with one shredder and one defender of argus. Is there some other replacement you would suggest?
This is a very resourceful and surprising deck. +1 goes for your creativity, I appreciate your deck, I was tired of playing similar decks. This is innovating and powerful.
It is very early to me say that I can climb it very fast yet I did 5 games and 5-0 so far. And I enjoy the games.
I have beaten secret paladin, demon lock, tempo mage, patron warrior and anyfin paladin in this particular order. And these are all competitive actual decks in current meta. On all these matches I find myself very comfortable seeking an answer to opponent's attacks. I had one huge question in my mind before I tried the deck. There are lots of overload cards, and I thought it was going to enforce me but it did not happen. Only you should think 1or 2 continuing turns before playing overloading cards.
And addition to that I think Shissan is very right. People don't see this kind of deck in the meta, so they don't make right decisions when playing. They assume they are playing against aggro or totem shaman. And this is a very significant power of this deck. I am going to follow the deck's future improvements if you'd like to do so.
Thanks again...
I have been playing this deck the last few days, and I really like it! One, it seems a lot of folks think you are a face Shaman and they are surprised haha. Also, I like how you can control the board during the games even against Zoo decks (I have won games against Reno and Zoo tonight!)
Thanks a lot for sharing the deck list, and I am hoping it will be around a while in Standard mode. Well I'll be playing it in Wild, but I would like to see the deck list be updated going forward :)
Been playing this over the last 2 days. And i love it. Really powerful in the early game if you get the right cards. Or if not, you can control the game pretty well until fatigue. Beat several warriors in fatigue with this. Also, looks to be good even when standard comes round.
I don't ever play shaman, but this looks hella fun, I'm about to craft two earth elementals just to play it. And it's almost new format proof. Just 3 cards from this deck that are leaving. Plus, I feel like shaman will get some love and be better when the new expansion comes out.
The Earth Elemental have been pretty damn sweet in the games I have played them! I wonder why they are not used more in Shaman decks tho. Big threats and even if they get silenced....it's a mean body on the board ;)
Good times indeed
