**3/29/14 - Tidesoftime switched the nerfed Nat Pagle with Knife Juggler. hooray!**
If you google Tidesoftime shaman deck, you currently get the old one from before the Tinkmaster Overspark nerf, this is his current build.
Works very well against common meta decks at all levels such as Zoo Warlock, handlock, giant decks, token druid, and tons of removal for those occasional murlocks. The largest problem would likely be UTH hunters, but it is possible to play around unleash the doggies by not spamming totems as you usually would.
The legendaries are more replaceable than in most decks you see nowadays, and contains only one epic so I would say it is rather affordable.
Bloodmage Thalnos --> Kobold Geomancer: The same thing minus card draw.
Knife Juggler --> Bloodlust or Acidic Swamp Ooze or Wild Pyromancer or Big Game Hunter etc.
*** No longer Nat Pagle *** *** 2 card replacement to Al'Akir still recommended! ***
Nat Pagle (now Knife Juggler or variation) + Al'Akir the Windlord or Bloodlust + Sunwalker or Bloodlust + Earth Elemental
Nat Pagle is rather unique, although you could produce a shadow of the effect with Loot Hoarder - but usually if you do not have Nat Pagle you will not have Al'Akir the Windlord either (as a less popular legendary), and replacing the latter takes two cards. Those who argue his usefullness simply have not played enough Shaman or do not even own him. His combination of control and burst potential with a Flametongue Totem, or double Rockbiter Weapon is an excellent finisher. Replacements that fill those roles are Bloodlust (with obscene finisher burst), and either Sunwalker or Earth Elemental depending on your preference for high end control.
If you own Al'Akir the Windlord but not Nat Pagle or simply have terrible RNG with him, and prefer something else there is the option of Wild Pyromancer or Bloodlust. If you favor subtlety over brute force, you can use Wild Pyromancer to great effect in clearing early game rush decks, and is what I call the "third Lightning Storm" all game long. If you would rather stomp your opponent's face in, Bloodlust is a cheese way of doing just that. I myself alternate between the two every couple games and have yet to decide on which I prefer. Try out both and see which you enjoy most, there is no bad pick here.
Good luck, have fun, and hit legend!

Just hit Legend playing exclusively this deck this season! Minor changes:
-1 Gadgetzan Auctioneer -1 Bloodmage Thalnos -1 Al'Akir the Windlord
+1 Acidic Swamp Ooze +1 The Black Knight +1 Ragnaros the Firelord
Gadgetzan felt too slow for me, Ooze is amazing value vs. Eaglehorn Bow and Gorehowl. I swapped out the legendaries based on what I already had, and they've been working fine for me. I've been tracking my stats since Rank 5 using HearthStats.com and I have a positive (69.23%) win rate against Hunters (18 wins, 8 losses); with enough experience, the matchup is really not that bad!
Hey, so I've been playing this deck a lot recently in the 14-11 rank range and am having alot of fun with it. The only change I made was that I removed one earth shock and switched it out with a Totemic Might to save my totems vs flame traps. What do you think?
Can you tell me how to play against handlocks with this deck? Whatever I play on the table they just clear. 2x shadowflame & 2x hellfire & 2xmortal coil & 2xSifon soul.
When you have 2 mana you totem 80% of the time. On 3 mana you drop one of your 9 strong 3 mana drops. If you coin feral spirits you will have 1 mana with overload next turn. Drop a flametongue next to it, or give it rockbiter and take out a 3-4 health in exchange for a mere divine shield. Do what you like best, but there is a reason so many people are using squires (just like NOT using forked lightning).
Simple answer: Mukla is one of the worst legendaries.
Even Millhouse is better, but is still dumpster level and are not played in any decent level decks because they can potentially screw yourself over which none of the other legendaries do (-Cho -Gelbin). The most essential neutral legendaries that go fine in any deck: Ragnaros, Cairne Bloodhoof, Ysera and Sylvanas. Leeroy Jenkins is essential for rundown/burst-combo decks so if you find yourself playing a lot of those he is very worth crafting. More situational, but still amazing ones are Alexstrazza, Harrison Jones, Black Knight, thalnos - and Vancleef if you are dead set on making a Miracle Rogue deck.
If you aim for above average rank, the mage, priest and pally legendaries are low tier just because of the classes themselves being rather underpowered in the current meta.
Sorry if I forgot some, but those mentioned tip-top tier, and even though some like greenskin (lol gorehowl) are excellent in narrow situations, they are not wide enough use to be worth crafting if you are not trying to make a single deck ridiculous.
Strong decks have their cards synergize as much as possible. Leeroy/windfury has no place in a control deck. You would do better using a different another deck as a template (such as Kitty Power linked at the bottom) that synergizes more with combo burst. Having a legendary does not mean you have to put it everywhere - there is a place and time. The squires serve the strategy of the deck better than Leeroy. Bloodlust I consider far more effective at ending a game due to shaman hero power.
Reached legend a week and something ago wtih this deck, cookies to tides. 2 advices - i strongly recommend replacing pagle with lava burst or ooze. Also always get the full value of flametongue, and dont forget you can kill your own totems with earthshock for the extra 2 damage.
So people are back on Nat?
That stings because I D/E'd him after hearing that he lost all his value. For the life of me, though, I just can't seem to win with Shaman decks. I'm going to have to go back to the drawing board or read some posts. I seem to have a problem managing Overload or, well..I'm just not sure tbh.
I like this deck the doom hammer is so unexpected and gives you another pain giver that you can really get some value out of. The only suggestion I would have is the black knight...Just cause Sunwalker is really annoying.
Sunwalker is annoying for any deck to deal with, but I feel that with the removal/silence options already available with Earth Shock and Hex for obnoxious things as that it would not be warranted as it would in more rushdown focused decks where those large taunts (or lack of them) can make or break it for you on an every-game basis. If you take a look at the paragraph I just added in response to a comment, I suggest Wild Pyromancer as one of my preferred (currently in use) alternatives to Nat Pagle, and is yet another efficient way of dealing with Sunwalker's godamn shield.
No I get that but at the same time a taunt killer with a solid 4/5 body is way better then any silence. You can silence a minion and it is no longer a taunt but its still a 4/4 in the case of earth shock. Plus in the case of Handlock decks that addition of The Black Knight can make the difference between winning epic or losing horribly.
True enough with the handlocks. That puts it in a more sobering context. I do not yet own him so I cannot do some trial runs unfortunately, as much as I would like to. For me it would be either BGH or faceless.
The pagle slot is very versatile and I like it that way!
I highly recommend getting one. And using the BGH also is good to but I would save for the ALEX or RAG PLAY...those tend to be the ones you really want to your ass on.
I know you recommend for Nat to go with Al'Akir, but I only have Al'Akir and don't quite want to give him up. If you don't recommend another Mana Tide Totem, then what WOULD you use in place of Nat?? I have some Earth Elementals I could use.
Replacing ONLY nat can be a wide range of anything really. Wild Pyromancer is great if you know how to use it well and is what I use instead of pagle currently. I keep going between him and Bloodlust, but (in theory) prefer the former because Bloodlust is more often than not a "dead" card you just have to hold in your hand until it pays off big-time in one shot, while pyro is versatile and can be used throughout many points of the game to wrest board advantage. Don't get me wrong though, Bloodlust is cruise control for win as where Wild Pyromancer is more tricky and subtle.
I will actually add a section on replacing pagle, thanks.
How about the shaman deck(kitty power) shown on his stream when you type !deck?
Yeah, saw it on stream earlier. I will put up his burst shaman and kitty shaman within the next couple days since I actually want to try them out myself first.
This was the deck he used when he actually put effort into getting #1.
Disenchanted Nat after his nerf, would a 2nd mana tide totem be efficient replacement?
@Mamizou, I would stick to one mana tide, because it makes you more careful about when to plop it down so as to get good use out of it. It is situational for times when you have board control, and can become a dead card in others. If used correctly, one of them will give you enough card advantage to win, but two may very well weigh down your hand with double mana tide when you are getting wiped out and need tempo cards to have a chance of coming back. Just my personal opinion.
