Hey everyone,
Intro:
Im a dutch hearthstone player from the beta with over 4300 normal wins.
My favourite class is Hunter, I've reached twice Legend with my golden Hunter.
Because of the new LoE cards, the meta has changed and it is much slower than it was a few seasons ago. I made this deck a few days ago and it gave me a 65%/70% win percentage around rank 4. Because of my school exams I haven't tried very hard to reach legend with this deck. I made this deck to have more fun with the Hunter beast cards and show that you can also win without playing facehunter or midrange (beast) hunter with piloted shredder and dr. Boom. The goal of this deck is to have a lot of fun and win games with your call pet luck. :)
Idea of this deck:
The idea of this deck is to use your Call Pet to get strong beasts early game. The new Tomb Spider is a perfect card to get out of your call pet in turn 1/2. Because the meta is slower, you don't have to worry if you wont get call pet in your beginning hand or when you don't draw a beast. If you get call pet in turn 5/6, it's still really good if you draw a 4+ mana card. Avoid beasts in your starting hand, try to mulligan your weapon, webspinners, owl, knife juggler and your mad scientists. Try to trade as much as possible and keep board control!
Why Stampeding Kodo?
The meta is pretty slow so it works perfect against freeze mage or control warrior.
Try to get it out of your Call Pet, that will give you so much value and wins your games!
Good luck, give me feedback and don't forget to trow a like!
( better guide will come after some likes )
Okay, I tested this deck for quite a bit and I'd say that while it seems more reliable than aggro and mid range decks, it can run out of steam against other control decks.
The only card draw this deck has is Call Pet, which is actually a gamble (you waste 2 mana if you don't get a beast, win 2 if you do get it).
Have you considered adding Starving Buzzard into it? It has great synergy with Unleash the Hounds and Snake Trap.
Making it so you can easily get the cards you need to control the board and summon your beasts.
Talking about controlling the board, it seems like it would also help to have something to clean the board like Explosive Shot.
While Gahz'rilla is a great card, I feel like it is too slow as a finisher if you don't have Arcane Shot. But I don't really think the deck can spare the slot for it. My games usually end earlier anyway, so I don't think that's much of an issue. It's hardly a win condition, just if the game goes on for too long.
One last thing, what do you think of King of Beasts on this deck? With unleash the hounds I was able to get one to 9/6 and then cleaned the board, and it doesn't require Houndmaster for a taunt.
Hey, I really like the idea of this deck!
Do you think Gahz'rilla is core on this dack or it could be swapped for any mid range/strong beast?
so i took out snake trap and run explosive trap to slow down the agrro. i didnt have gahr'zilla so i run king krush. it works pretty good. a little over 50% win rate for me.
