Changes
-Changed Spellbreaker and Ragnaros the Firelord to Twilight Drake and Alexstrasza for stronger early game and better finish/sustain
- Patch 4944 - Due to the changes of Tinkmaster Overspark, the card become from OP to thrash, because you can use it effectively in very rare and specific cases in a control deck.
-Tinkmaster Overspark and Azure Drake swapped for Ironbeak Owl and Spellbreaker
- The changes to Nat Pagle doesn't hurt that much, still viable.
- Changed Bloodmage Thalnos to Sword of Justice for stronger early game presence.
______________________________________________________________
This deck was made for control from early to late game, outsustain your opponents, both in cards and health, control the board and win games.
You can control any sort of threat with your board clear, destroys, taunts and damage reduction.
Early game you should focus to maintain your board and card advantage.
Mid game most of the time you will be a little bit lower in health than your opponent, but its a great opportunity to play your Molten Giant, taunt it with Defender of Argus or Sunfury Protector and heal back. Dont wait for Molten Giant if u are very low on health, because 2 Molten Giants worth nothing if you die before you can hit with them!
Late game you can get rid easily of your opponents strong/ buffed minions with Big Game Hunter, Ironbeak Owl or Aldor Peacekeeper for and you can also Faceless Manipulator them if you want. And if you have an opportunity.... FINISH HIM!
How to get control:
Board clear:
Wild Pyromancer + Equality for 4 mana
Equality + Consecration for 6 mana
[Consecration for 4 mana
Single clear:
Reinforce, Truesilver Champion, Big Game Hunter, Ironbeak Owl, The Black Knight
Card sustain:
Health sustain:
Holy Light, Lay on Hands, Guardian of Kings, Truesilver Champion, Alexstrasza
Card explanation
Equality - Your bread and butter for board clear. Use after Wild Pyromancer for a full clear, with Consecration to clear the enemy minions or you can use it alone and you can trade with your Silver Hand Recruits with anything.
Holy Light - Hold in your starting hand against aggro decks! Great to combo with Molten Giant + Sunfury Protector / Defender of Argus and use Holy Light after to easily beat aggro decks.
Ironbeak Owl - Silence for 2 mana + 2/1 body, silence is a weaker replacement of the old Tinkmaster Overspark, but you can silence your own minions after Equality to get end the debuff. Great against enemy Cairne Bloodhoof, Taunts, Divine Shields and any buffed enemy minion:)
Nat Pagle - Works as a super taunt. Great turn 1 drop with The Coin, excellent for card sustain or bait early destroys and silences or save damage from your face. If he gets silenced you can still use Sunfury Protector / Defender of Argus on him because of the strong body.
Sunfury Protector - Use this card to taunt 1 or 2 minions, in my opinion the best minions you can give taunt are: Cairne Bloodhoof, Sylvanas Windrunner, Molten Giants or Twilight Drake.
Wild Pyromancer - Great minion for board clear. Against aggro decks with many 1 health minions you can use a Holy Light or The Coin to deal 1 damage across the board for the clear and still save the 3/1 body. Same way you can get rid of divine shielded enemy minions with a Holy Light or The Coin and then use Equality.
Aldor Peacekeeper - Humility with a 3/3 body for 2 extra mana, great to lower the damage of big threats if you cant handle them some other way or if you want to trade with Truesilver Champion / minions and dont want to take much damage.
Sword of Justice - It makes your Reinforce and your minions to bigger and beefier threats and you can clear 1 health minions with it as well. Dont attack the enemy Hero with this weapon, it's just doesn't worth for 1 damage.
Big Game Hunter - Excellent to take out high damage threats late game for 3 mana, and you even get a decent 4/2 minion. You can combo him with Faceless Manipulator, it's like a Mind Control for 8 mana with an extra 4/2 minion.
Consecration - Great clear alone but you can use it with Equality or Wild Pyromancer for extra damage.
Defender of Argus - Sunfury Protector with a +1/+1 buff. Think before you use it against Priests! Your Twilight Drake and Cairne Bloodhoof will transform to easier targets with 5 attack!
Truesilver Champion - 4/2 weapon with a heal, great for early clear, can restore 4 health in 2 turns. Combo with Aldor Peacekeeper or Equality to handle high damage or health threats.
Twilight Drake - Great card for your starting hand, if you have The Coin, then you can play a 4/7 minion is turn 3, then you can give him taunt as well in the next turn! Great bait for destroys, silences, or he can trade with more then one minions.
Faceless Manipulator - You can copy your own taunted minions, enemy taunts or Ragnaros the Firelord, you can get rid of enemy charge minions if you trade your faceless. Great combo with Tinkmaster Overspark and Big Game Hunter.
Cairne Bloodhoof - 2x Chillwind Yeti in one card for an extra 2 mana! Very hard to kill it without silence or Tinkmaster Overspark, great target to give taunt, he can trade very well.
Sylvanas Windrunner - Nice deathrattle and a 5/5 body, you can use it when you have board control and you can steal or trade with anything the opponent plays, or you can play him if you dont have board control and see your opponent makes silly plays to get rid of it without stealing any of his minions. Great card for Sunfury Protector and Defender of Argus, or to bait silences or Hex and Polymorph.
The Black Knight - Chillwind Yeti for 2 extra mana, but it can destroy any enemy taunt. Very useful against druids ( Ancient of War, Ironbark Protector, taunt spells)
Guardian of Kings - Restore 6 health to your hero, and 5/6 body, great for sustain and taunt.
Lay on Hands - 8 health + 3 card draw:) Very strong if you can play it after you played your Molten Giants.
Alexstrasza - 8/8 body with a really strong battlecry, cast on enemy if you have control and wants to set his health to 15 to finish, or cast on yourself to heal back to 15 and have a 8/8 on the board. Alexstrasza can turn the game to your favor in 1 turn so use it:D
Molten Giant - Great against aggro decks, can beat any of them if you have Molten Giant(s) + Sunfury Protector / Defender of Argus and some sort of heal in your hand.
Legendary replacement
In this deck, it's hard to replace the legendaries, because they give you tons of utility, but here are some idea the replace the "expensive ones".
NOTE: I know it's a relatively high cost deck, but it's also high reward with low risk. I didn't run into any hard counter decks yet, but you can lose with any deck, if you get wrong cards and the enemy is topdecking whole game. I think the legendaries I use could fit in almost any deck, because of the high utility and damage potential, so if you can afford try to craft them, they will win you tons of game in any wellmade deck if you use them right.
Cairne Bloodhoof Two Chillwind Yeti in one, but you can change to a single Chillwind Yeti
The Black Knight Boulderfist Ogre / Sunwalker
Nat Pagle Novice Engineer / Acolyte of Pain
Sylvanas Windrunner Sunwalker / Faceless Manipulator
Alexstrasza Sunwalker / Boulderfist Ogre / War Golem
Matchups -How to play against other classes:
Druid: Most of the druids are control, but dont forget: they can have a big burst with Force of Nature + Savage Roar combo, so you need taunts and board control at almost any cost (but dont die:) ). High health minions can be your friends in this mathup, but be aware with the silences! The Black Knight can win games for you!:)
Priest: Play your 4 attack minions, Nat Pagle and Sylvanas Windrunner to bait destroys, and never play big minions if you can't handle them with Big Game Hunter or Equality, because if they gets mind controlled, then you are fckd. Priests are very annoying, because they will steal your cards, I run more then enough games in Equality + Holy Nova then I wanted... One of your worst matchup, but you can win, it's just annoying.
Warrior: Easy matchup in most cases, your taunts will save you, you have great sustain and board clear if things go wrong. Try to bait Execute early game with Nat Pagle if you can. You will need your taunts and your Truesilver Champion and you are fine. And think before you use Wild Pyromancer! You can give your opponent tons of damage and armor!
Warlock: Aggro Warlock is easy to beat with this deck, he will run out of cards or health, you just need to clear with Wild Pyromancer + Equality and sustain. Mid game you will have card and board advantage against small minions. Control Warlock is harder to beat, hold your Big Game Hunter if you get at starting hand, because if you cant handle the early Mountain Giant then you are screwed. Lategame you win.
Mage: Dont get to low, and care with Flamestrike, she will use one at 7 mana :) Try to bait Polymorph to save your Tirion Fordring and Alexstrasza.
Hunter: Same as Warlock, but care with Leeroy Jenkins + Unleash the Hounds + Timber Wolf! It hurts. Use your taunts, and heals, he will run out of cards, you win.
Shaman: Care with AOE, clear the spell damage totems and Flametongue Totems whenever you can and bait Hex, win game.
Rouge: Most rouges are aggro, so you need your taunts, and heals. Leeroy Jenkins + Shadowstep + Cold Blood can deal more than 20 damage in one turn!
Paladin: Mirror matchups always hurts, but this decks versatility can win you Pally mathups as well most of the time.
Gameplay
Here are some gameplay example, its low rank because i didnt had the time to climb higher this season, but i will post some other videos later!
Got to rank 8 with this deck so far and loving it, can be rocky aggro and Mages but i never lose to any of the current meta late game decks like War and Handlock, personally though i find the rag insted of alex does a lot better in this deck
Im happy you like it:) alex is more of an otk combo or life saver, rag is just dmg and clear, but with rng:) i used rag as well til now, but i find alex more useful at the moment, but there is no big difference in usefullnes i think.
Cool deck, just killed some noob warlock with it.
Edit: Editted
Thanks!:) gl
Deck is far too slow (for this meta).
It's a control deck not a rush. You have weak early game but after a clear you have strong mid and late game. You can survive rush decks most of the time.
How are you so low ranked if your deck is amazing ? LOL
You know at march 1 there where a ranked reset and i didnt had time to play yet because i had to work. I made the videos to help you guys right after somebody asked me to do... And now everyone complains about my rank:D
Because of the ranked reset im rank 16 at the moment. I didnt had time to play this season yet, so I cant make a high rank video right after the reset. You asked me to show how to play with this deck so i made some videos to help. As i wrote for Shiloto1914 these was some easy game. You are right, its easy to crush non legendary deck with a legendary control deck. I just made the video to help not to demonstrate my superior skills against bad decks. If i will have the time to climb i will record higher rank videos as well.
I have lost from rank 7 to rank 11 with this deck. There are too many minions that costs 6, many games I have nothing to play in first rounds even after doing full mulligan.
I am sure that I did mistakes and I could played better, but there is no way that can get rank 5 with this deck. I was stuck at rank 7 with my shaman deck and I wanted to try something else to move on, but I think this is not good enough to help me move on with the rank
Did you played any control type deck before? Because if you didn't, then it can be hard for the first look. I recommend to play Normal games and get familiar of the powers / weaknesses of the deck, and after a few games you can start ranked ( i do this with every new deck, because in the first few games you can lose ranks in ranked while learning ) early game you can play passive ( hero power, Nat pagle ), then after a partial / full boardclear you can start to put down your strong minions. Of course you can have Tirion, Lay on Hands, Ragnaros and 2 molten giants in your hand and its really really bad, but most of the time i get something for the early game ( Nat, wild pyro, equality, consecration, truesilver champion) If you want stronger earlygame swap Bloodmage Thalnos for a Sword of Justice ( im trying it now) it can be very strong with hero power and against 1 health minions.
OP trick
I try to do and upload one as soon as I can, but I cant record my voice:(
Posted the video! Hope you will enjoy:) it was an easy game, you can run in to much harder opponents of course:)
15k dust? I'm sorry it's not really a built deck when you throw every legendary in there. Congrats
Did u tried the deck? Because if you will, then you will the see why there are so many legendaries. There is a reason to put these legendary cards in the deck, i didnt just "throw them in to the deck" ( see the card explanations), if i did i could just write: put 10 legendary in your deck and it will be OP. If u dont have the legendaries, then replace them, there are some ideas in the description, but feel free to change cards. I know it wont be your starting deck. You have to play / pay a lot to build this deck.
You can't use Aldor Peacekeeper on your own minions. When did you use it on Nat Pagle? It's hard to take people's decks seriously when there's such a glaring error in the description that should be known by anyone who plays five games with a card.
Sorry for the mistake! I never tried to use Aldor on my own minions and didnt read the description well enough, it was just an idea, and I thought i can use it like Humility. Thanks for your remark! Edited in description.
I got to rank 10 last season with this deck, and now for the life of me I can't get past 15. Maybe I'm just making terrible plays, or playing against too many mages.
If you could beat them last season then you can beat them now as well!:) maybe bad matchups:)
