I've played control shaman to legend for the last 2 seasons. It shines against warrior (all types) but has a mediocre matchup with just about every other deck. Since warrior is so prominent on the ladder, this deck is ladder viable.

I've tried various control shaman builds in the last few months, but always seem to come back to the n'zoth version.

The strength of n'zoth shaman over other n'zoth control decks, such as paladin, lies in superior single target removal (i.e. Hex) as well as the potential for massive tempo swings (e.g. Hallazeal + Elemental Destruction, Earth Elemental + Ancestral Spirit, Thing from Below as a 2 or less mana play).

 

Mulligans

The general rule is to look for Doomsayer and Elemental Destruction. If you already have Elemental Destruction, it's good to keep Lava Shock. Mana Tide Totem can also be kept sometimes, especially with Doomsayer
