Visual guide in the making HYPE!
I have played Druid a lot around, 1k Ranked wins. I would say and I have always liked Token more than anything. In this list it combines the consistency of Midrange Druid with the strong Starts of token. This deck list is a mix between Token and Midrange. With the additio of the TGT low drops included into Midrange it only seems right to make the deck even faster. In TGT Druid received tools that just seem to round out the deck and make it strongest it has ever been. I hit Rank 1 Legend on the 28th of August [S17] which is 3 days after I started ranking from Rank 20 to Legend on the release of TGT, information about that can be found here.
This isn't a "Token Deck" or anything of that matter. Your goal with this deck is not to just summon a board of 1/1's with Violet Teacher, this deck plays a lot like a Midrange druid, but instead focuses more on strong starts and anti aggro tools. Violet Teacher's potential value against Aggro decks is enough to win games, but it is not the focus of the deck. That is why this deck has been named Hybrid Druid because it removes the inconsistencies of Token Druid and replaces them with strong stable Midrange Druid threats.
Living Roots - This is one of the best cards in the expansion. It is the best turn 1 against aggro. It can kill any 1 or 2 drop with turn 2 hero power. Always keep against aggro.
Darnassus Aspirant - Such an amazing must remove minion against control deck, this chnages the game completly when you play against Druid because now every deck must keep their Fiery War Axe, Frostbolt, Darkbomb etc against Druid. Aspirant is also a stable 2/3 against aggro. This lets you run no shade because you can often ramp to 4 mana with this, innervate or wild growth.
1x Force of Nature - With little draw power you cant have clunky combo pieces clogging your draws. Also you rarely need to use this to win.
Violet Teacher - Just such a powerful value engine against aggro. As well as a strong threating 4 drop to drop on curve.
WIP Match ups. Rough work for Guide
Warlock - Easy
Keep: Innervate, Living Roots, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Keeper of the Grove, Swipe.
Tips: Keep 4 drop if you can curve into it. Only keep Wrath
Gameplan: Making Tokens with Violet Teacher against zoo is always a strong play because they will have to trade into them. Trying to threaten Savage Roar lethal against Handlock is strong. Never let Handlock play Molten Giants, taunt them and play Healbot. Always try to play Living Roots turn 1. Value face damage against Zoo highly, they have to tap every turn and that will eventually put them into combo range if you ever lose on board.
Paladin - Moderate
Keep: Innervate, Living Roots, Darnassus Aspirant, Swipe.
Tips: Keep 4 drop if you can curve into it (Keeper of the Grove, Violent teacher especially). Only keep Wild growth if you can take time to play it; If you have a turn 1 play like Living Roots.
Gameplan: It will most often be secret Paladin in which you are unfavored , in that case making tokens will most often end the game. Beware of turn 6 Mysterious Challenger.
Shaman - Easy
Keep Innervate, Living Roots, Wild Growth, Darnassus Aspirant, Keeper of the Grove.
Tips: Keep a Swipe if your hand is already good.
Gameplan: You deck is just stronger than theirs. Your cards are more effiecnt, and you can often combo them on turn 9.
Druid - Moderate
Gameplan:
"THIS IS REYNAD'S DECK I SAW HIM STREAM AND U DIDNT STREAM SO HE MADE IT AND UR TAKING CREDIT FOR IT"
This is the first deck i played after TGT was released on EU Legend, I opened 50 laggy packs and then played minutes after. Info here.
Reynad didnt hit #1 Legend and I did.
This is just the list I uploaded to Hearthpwn. This list in my client is different the list I had when I hit #1 was different. This is a base list, no tech at all.
No where am I claiming i invented this deck.
This deck is like 5 cards off from the Pre TGT Token Druid, exuding TGT cards.

Flood .. i have 2x of every single card in this deck ( well expect for dr.boom ofc. ) but i dont have any ancient of lores ... what will my winrate be like if i supped anything for them ... and what are the reasonable replacements for them ... kinda want to save my dust for justicar so i'll try crafting them later
Lore is one of the most important cards for Druid in pretty much all decks. If you have any interest in the class, you should be crafting two of them.
If you're going to play Druid, you need Lores, no other way around it
Tips vs dragon priest?
I'm new to the game and I got pushed from rank 14 to 13 when I faced 3 dragon priests in a row. They are scary early game and they usually get a lot of taunt up and draw a lot of cards.
in your deck picture there is -1living roots +1 bgh whic deck is better
I was running Handlock tech when I hit #1 lol it was better at the time ... it was tech
Is there a sub for FoN?
No way around it, just crafted :P
How does this deck do against cancer scret Paladin and Dragon Priest? I face them about 70% of the time on ladder(rank15and going up)
I've made this, and am enjoying it pretty well, except I'm missing the second Ancient of Lore, and Dr. Boom. Wondering if the poster has any suggestions for now until I accumulate the dust to craft them. I've been subbing in Mech-Bear-Cat instead of Dr Boom, he works really well with Violet Teacher, and is fairly solid aggro, but obviously he can't recover the board like Boom can.
Been at a loss to replace the second Ancient of Lore. I have a golden Ancient of War that I can't bear to dust into an Ancient of Lore in there at the moment (I know, I know, but I got it from a pack and I'm a little attached)... but it doesn't quite feel right. I think the lifegain or draw would be more valuable. I tried an Ancient Heal-Bot, but he just feels like he's made of shit when you're on Druid and playing efficient threats is your bread and butter. Suggestions would be welcome. Thanks for sharing the list. :)
EDIT: I've been wondering if there might be any sense in going down to just a single copy of Wild Growth. I know that effectively running so much acceleration is what lets us skip running Shade, etc, and perhaps it's a strange card to suggest running only a single copy of, but the thing is I think it's the weakest of our mana accelerators, and it's possible that we could be good with only five copies. I've found it sitting dead in my hand once or twice, waiting to dump it once i get to ten mana and draw a card, whereas Innervate is nearly always useful unless you're completely out of cards in your hand. I figure if the curve can survive it, there's some sense in trying the deck out minus one Wild Growth and plus one utility card or minion. For example, Silver Hand Regent could be a decent card to stick in a copy of, no? Or if you want something bigger, Mech-Bear-Cat really is pretty solid in this list. Idk, these might not be the best suggestions but I figured it was worth debating a bit.
Wild Growth is still the best ramp, you can't go down to 1. And replacement for Dr. Boom and 2nd Ancient of Lore would be Sylvanas, or another quality legendary like Loatheb, or Emperor Thaurisan.
If you don't have any of those, the deck could use some 5 or 6 drops so anything good you have there (e.g. Piloted Sky Golem, Sludge Belcher, Sunwalker)
Such a strong deck, nice job as usual Flood!
@Flood
I played it for 31 games at ranks between 350 and 120 legend and went 21-10 (68% win rate)
This is a very well put together deck. I tried experimenting with some card changes like cutting 1 violet teacher and/or 1 azure drake and/or 1 living root in favour of bgh, shades, and/or bloodmage thalnos to mixed success depending on matchup. Overall, I feel the currently list is the way to go, but can potentially be teched depending on what you face.
As usual excellent deck Flood.
Thanks for the feedback! Gratz on 68% :D
wow can this actualy work XD im gonna try it
Hey man do you think i could replace any of the 4 drops with savage combatant? thats my favorite card in the game since tgt came out. Really hoping that he is a viable option.
nothing special imo
yeah man Living roots was very effective pre TGT
I really need a mulligan guide and a good covering guide. I have like %60 winrate in rank 5 but i have no idea how to play this. First time i am playing a druid. Have been playing oil for like 2 3 months. This is just SO different. Please write a guide mate or do you have stream? No druid streams with this deck ):
edit: i'm gettin raped by warriors and totem shaman... Backed till rank 8
Well you really should craft another AoL because it is used 2x in every druid deck. This deck only needs 1 FoN
