Total Deck Rating

This is a very very cheap hunter deck that I used to get my alt account from Rank 25 to Rank 8 in 2 days after only opening about 5 packs total. It's a bit weak to aggro hunter but holds its own quite well against most legendary-filled control decks you'll fight up to this ranking.
A great deck for players looking to climb ranks for cheap, but not a legendary caliber deck or anything.
Mulligan strategies:
Deadly shot against druids for innervate, other than that usually animal companion/loot hoarder/harvest golem or I keep uth combos if I happen to have them. Against aggro, uth/timber wolf, sen'jin, arcane shot. Against shaman keep scavenging hyena as it's to clear totems early game.
Sideboard possibilities:
Sen'jin > Harvest golem, Eaglehorn Bow or Ironbeak Owl
Loot Hoarder > Ironbeak Owl - recommend 1 as this deck is quite weak to Cairne. I don't have one in the list because I don't have the dust to craft one yet :)
Tundra Rhino > Stranglethorn tiger

Deck still work pretty well!
Actually its omg...
I love this deck but made a few changes. I'm using explosive trap X 2, eaglehorn bow and Leeroy Jenkins. I removed both chilwind Yeti cards, one harvest golem and one arcane shot.
The deck felt quite weak early game and needed something to combat the rush of cheap minions from agro decks so I used explosive trap. Eaglehorn bow syngenesis will with it and leeroy is perfect with an unleash the hounds combo.
what if i add leeroy jenkins? would it be a good add ?
This is why Hunters are way overpowered: every card combos multiple combos for 0-3 cost. I was playing this deck and utterly destroyed every opponent I faced, except when I was playing another Hunter with the same type of deck. Beasts on the field buffing each other + your hunter clearing out all of the opponents minions while laughing maniacally = way too powerful.
And don't take this as a knock against the deck. the deck is awesome! Just watch out for the Blizzard nerf when next patch hits.
Say i had carine and a gladiators longbow or the eaglehorn bows, what would i sub out.
i think you would sub out sen'jin shieldmaster?
Might sub 1 senjin for a gladiators another for an eaglehorn and one yeti for carine maybe.
I am really enjoying this deck. I have a question for though. If i had 1300 dust I wanted to spend what would be the best way to upgrade this deck? Is there a better card or two I could throw in? Or a legendary to save for?
nice deck
I love this deck. Finally I can use my legendary, the beast
Made some minor adjustments: 2x harvest golem subbed in for explosive trap. Explosive trap is almost always a dead card against other control decks and I got sick of having 2 sitting in my hand.
1x Ironbeak Owl subbed in for 1x Loot Hoarder. Ironbeak Owl is required to give this deck an answer to an early Cairne, as it can't deal with him efficiently without a silence.
I'm gonna disagree on the Explosive Trap usefulness. The trap is way more useful than you think, specially against aggro decks who tends to just rush you from turn 1. Also, against those who overextends their board with weak minions that you won't be able to get rid of them with one or 2 minions, and you'll find yourself doing the 1 vs 2 trade, using explosive shot, trades.. etc. And of course, doing direct damage to your opponent if he is low on HP, of course while clearing his board. Hunter lacks board clear spells like Priests, Mages, Druids, Paladins, and I find explosive trap is a very important card for early-mid clears. Even for damaging his minions for you to finish them off.
And I find the Pyro + Explosive Trap combo, an effective way to have a minion on the board, and even leave the enemy minions with lower hp for the trap to finish them.
But well, to each his own. :)
Explosive trap is very nice against aggro, but I haven't been fighting enough aggro to make it worth it. Harvest golem however is very useful against both aggro and control. I just hate having cards sitting in my hand doing nothing, and against other control decks that's what explosive trap usually does.
Well, as I mentioned, it's not only useful against aggro. Early game, 90% of the minions are low HP minions. So it still works as a clear against board control.
Most control decks start their curve with harvest golems, 2/1hp minions aren't very popular and when they are they're usually cantrips anyway. It would be better if you could control when it triggers but you can't.
The trap does 2 damage so not only 2/1 minions will die, but 2/2 and 3/2 minions will die as well, which like 90% of the early game minions are like that, and to be honest, I don't see the Golem that much, even if it happened, it's mid game since your opponent won't luck out every time by getting the Golem. You seem to care so much for the Golem that you took the trap from your deck, but early game, 90% of the minions your opponent plays are 2 HP, so taking like 2 of them with the trap is still great since it's a 2 for 1 trade. Even at mid game when the minion's HP starts to raise, it's still fine to deal some damage to them just to finish them with your minions/spells/bow + as I mentioned, dealing damage to the hero, since it deals 2 damage to all characters including the opponent Hero.
Yeah I love hunter, very similar. What surprises people the most is the only drop 1-2 creatures in fear of UTH, which I take advantage of hehe.
