Miracle Rogue (#1 Legend EU)

Introduction

My name is Travis (Flood) and today I am showing you my variation of Miracle Rogue! Miracle Rogue is a deck that relies on a term called cycling cards. This term refers to using a card to draw a card, also know as cantrip. The way you can cycle through your deck is by using Gadgetzan Auctioneer. The reason you want to cycle through the deck is to be able to get a combo with Leeroy Jenkins and other cards like Shadowstep and Cold Blood to kill your opponent.

"First, all credit goes to tttrrraaavvvis for the original deck idea."

Card Reasoning

My Card Choices(May be outdated!)

Hero Power Dagger MasteryThere is a lot of division in the community of whether you hit the face with your Wicked Knife or you keep it at 2 durability. Personally I do both, If I have something like an SI:7 Agent in my hand I will not attack because I will probably use it next turn with a Backstab for removal. If you have no following play Attack because you will just Hero power next turn. Also keep in mind that Deadly Poison is great early game removal.

2x Backstab: Backstab is really great removal. I mostly try my best to keep it in my hand for Auctioneer combos, against most decks you do want to keep it, but if a Knife Juggler comes out or a bigger threat you should use it for sure. Likewise for aggro, you want to keep it in you opening hand and use it to remove 3/2 in the early game.

2x Preparation: This is a very strong card in the deck, the main and only use is turn 5-7 when you have the Auctioneer. You use it to cycle 2 cards(The card itself and the spell you played for 3 less). This will give you a huge advantage because you will still have your full mama to cycle more spells. I wouldn’t keep this card in your opening hand.

2x Shadowstep: This card can tend to sit in your hand for a while. The best situation when it can be used is with Leeroy when hitting for lethal. Sometimes I use it when I can not conceal my Auctioneer after a cycle it works well becasue you can play the Auctioneer for 3 mana the following turn and combo even more cards off of it. The last time when Shadowstep is strong is with SI:7 Agent, I only really use it this way against aggro decks it becomes a 1 card 2 damage possible heal for the Earthen Ring Farseer which is above average.

1x Cold Blood: There is not to much to say about this card, you always want to use it to get Lethal with Leeroy Jenkins, but personal I like to put it on an Auctioneer if I can conceal it or attack because  it will tend to get the same amount of damage in if not more. I am only running 1 now because I find that a Sinister Strike is better a lot of the time because it doesn't need a minion attacking to do damage and it is great to cycle with an Auctioneer that is not concealed.

2x Deadly Poison: So I am sure you all know why Deadly Poison is in the deck. It is a staple to all Rogue decks, it can combo is Assassin’s Blade for 20 damage over 4 turns. As well as Blade Flurry and using it as removal. You should always keep it on your opening hand, but never play it until you can kill something because you can always get additional value with Edwin, Auctioneer or even have it used on an assassin’s Blade. I am no longer running Assassin's Blade because it is too slow for ladder now.

1x Sinister Strike: This card can be replaced with Cold Blood or vise versa. I am running one of each, but I tend to switch them out for each other a lot depending on the meta.

1x Blade Flurry: While Blade Flurry is very strong I only use one because it can tend to be clunky at 2 mana while that may sound crazy but when you are cycling with Auctioneer it can clog up the mana and sometimes not even have a benefit. You always need to have your weapon a lot of the time to smash through that 10-4 health that will make you unable to hit for lethal with Leeroy. I would keep this agaisnt a minion heavy aggro deck like Warlock not hunter, and only If I have a way of scaling the damage(Deadly Poison or Bloodmage Thanlos.

2x Eviscerate: Eviscerate is one of the best removal in the game, It can kill almost anything 2-4 mana and you can add spell damage or your Hero Power to scale the damage up to kill a yeti for 5. I will not usually keep this in my opening hand. I only really keep it if I know I am playing against a quick beat down deck.

2x Fan of Knives: The way Fan of Knives is used is actually quite similar to Shiv, you can use it to cycle and not get any additional value against control decks, yes, use it on an empty board it is good to cycle through. I would not keep this against a control deck, but against a change hunter or some aggro deck along those lines I would keep it. I am now running 2 instead of just 1 because I have found it to be great against Zoo.

2x Shiv: This is a more interesting card actually, Shiv is mostly used to just thin out your deck. In the beginning of the game you can hit a totem 1-2 cost minion or even Shiv to the face against control because the damage doesn't matter because you want it to cycle. That being said i will always keep this card in my opening hand.

2x SI:7 Agent: Hey look! Another minion has decided to show it’s ugly face in the card explanation. SI:7 is actually pretty odd it see in all seriousness because the previous Miracle Rogue did not run it, but the card is so strong against any aggro deck it is just a must have. I would only keep this in my opening hand if I have a way to activate the combo and I am playing against an aggro deck.

2x Earthen Ring Farseer: Earthens are great because they are something to do on turn 3 and will heal you as well as put a minion on the board.

1x Leeroy Jenkins: Leeroy is your main win condition, he is one of the most important cards in the whole deck. He is only really used in combination with Shadowstep and Cold Blood to hit in for 26 damage to close the game. I know this may sound improbable to do this very game but when you draw every card in your deck every game it always happens.

1x Azure Drake: Azure is one of the best cards in the games because you will never lose value from it, it puts a very stable minion on the board and provides that little spell power bump that puts your eviscerates into Yeti ranged.

2x Gadgetzan Auctioneer: Our good old friend the Auctioneer! This is the most important card in the whole deck with out this the deck will fail completely. You always keep this card in your opening hand! Do your best to always get 2-3 cards of value off of him before you end your turn. You can use Conceal to protect him and use Shadowstep if you have neither Conceal or another Auctioneer in your hand.

My Odd Card Choices

1x Gnomish Inventor: Gnomish is just great in the meta right now and it feel like dead turn 4 Miracle Rogue tends to have.

2x Conceal: This card is commonly only a 1x in most Miracle Rogue decks, but I run 2 after many play testing games because I fell if you can getGadgetzan Auctioneer + Conceal you will most likely win the game.

1x Sap: I run 2 Sap because this card is almost need for the match up with Ramp Druid and it can be a better Freezing Trap in most situations. It is manly used to cycle and slow the opponent’s Tempo in every other match up. I now only run 1 because it can be a dead card a lot, but I am still testing this.

0x Edwin VanCleef: I do not run Edwin because it just doesn’t do anything anymore. With druid always silencing it, Shaman Hexing it and even Zoo is running Big Game Hunter it will hardly ever get any damage in.

Match up Guide

Ramp Druid: I would say Ramp Druid is an easy match up because they really can’t put many minions on the board, maybe 1-2 at a time and they are easy targets for removal. I would say use your Saps wisely, you will need saps to get past big taunt’s like Ancient of War and push for lethal. Assassin's Bladeis very strong in this match up because you can clear a lot of Mid-Ranged minions like Chillwind Yeti with a  and then a Blade Flurry. I wouldn’t keep sap in the mulligan because you will cycle into one and it will be a dead card until you need it.

Handlock: This is probably one of the hardest match ups for Miracle Rogue because giants are very hard to deal with. I wouldn’t say it is impossible, but for sure a challenge. If you want to meta against Handlock I would use Sinister Strike. In this match up you want to put minions on the board and be aggressive with Assassin's Blade, then Blade Flurry and finish with a Leeroy Jenkins and Sap. Remember to watch out if you at at 20 health and they are at 10 mana for the combo!

Control Warrior: This one of the easiest match ups in my opinion. The reason that this match up is so easy if because of the Assassin's Blade. I would try to even keep 2x Deadly Poison for the blade because it does so much it makes these match almost a free win. I would say watch out for Brawl on your Gadgetzan Auctioneer, but that rarely will ever kill it ;). Warriors will tend to put down armor combos with Armorsmith, Whirlwind and other minions to try and get armor to survive the impending doom, so try to keep here minion counter down if possible.

Warlock Zoo: Warlock Zoo is an okay match up. The rise in Miracle Rogue actually let to the decline of Zoo warlock on ladder. You have so many tools to help destroy Zoo like Backstab, SI:7 Agent and Shiv that this match ups is favored. I think that match plays it self you want to just avoid Doomguard doing a lot of damage by saving for it and having a minion of the board to hit it like an Earthen Ring Farseer. If you are having trouble with aggro try this variation.

Miracle Rogue: This is the mirror match! I honestly have to say that the Assassin's Blade doesn’t really help as much as people think it might. The real winner is the one that can get Gadgetzan Auctioneer + Conceal down the fastest almost always wins. The thing you have to do is rush them down with minions and Deadly Poison on your dagger. This match really comes becomes a tempo game and who ever hits the face more will usually win.
