Miracle Rogue was first created by a player name Sveno. He created the deck before Hearthstone was even playable. Then sometime later after balance changes, a guy that went my the name of Travis built it again, and that is the original post on Hearthpwn. Then, it was nerfed again. After that, a very popular player named Kolento remade the deck in the summer of 2014. Finally, miracle rogue was nerfed again. The nerfs to both Gadgetzan Auctioneer and Leeroy Jenkinskilled the deck.

If you are playing a lot of handlock I would put it back in :) as well as another sap
thanks
You say "Bloodmage Thalnos: Loot Hoarder" but what about Kobold Geomancer instead? is the cycling of 1 card for a draw more important than the SD+1?
SD +1 is more important for Miracle. You need a clean way to kill 3 hp and 5 hp minions. Can't afford to lose too much life using the dagger.
Pyro is kinda bad for Rouge as you need to cast spells constantly, thus killing your own pyro in the process.
that's what i think too, but flood seems to think differently, so i wanted an explanation defending loot hoarder.
Leeroy and Thalnos...the 2 cards i reaaallllly want right now.
Commented on here a while ago about not having Leeroy, crafted it and it is unbelievably good! I have no thalnos, how important is it to craft this? It's my next card to craft anyway because i run a weird handlock as well as this. But I just wanna know how important it is:) Also can you add a bit about mulligans in the future? Thank you.
I play a variation of this deck a lot. It's my fav. deck to play. I say Thalnos is a really good addition. Gives you the benefit of a Loot Hoarder and Kobold in 1 card essentially, minus 1/1.
I just had a game where I had 9 cards left and didn't draw auctioneer. How 2 play better? (I'm fucking pissed)
Just started a new game and both show up in my mulligan hand. Well, better late than never
I'm commenting in the hope that it lets me subscribe if I comment. =P
I'm having trouble with the deck, but considering I'm missing 1x Gadgetzan Auctioneer, 1x Preparation, and the two legendaries, that could have something to do with it. Most games I don't even get the one auctioneer I do have in there no matter how many cards I draw. =(
I definitely agree with the "if you don't get an auctioneer by round 5-7 you're basically dead" sentiment, though...
Come on guys, this deck doesn't work without GA. If you don't have 2 craft it or play another deck.
The deck is a joke. I wonder if some bots are voting up this deck because it is just not that good. And that kid is acting like it takes some skill to use it. If you do not get the right draws there is nothing you can do.
You are wrong dude. I also had a hard time getting to know this deck, but once you learn the muligans, and which card when and how to use the best, you can win most of the games. Sure there are counters to it, every deck has a counter deck ! That's nothing unusual.
The biggest problem for me was the muligan, which i am still mastering.
In the beggining, you should try and do efficient removal, and put minions on the board so your opponent has to deal with them, while you draw cards or just put minions who will be a problem for them ( Farseer / SI7 ) Try not to lower your health beneath 19 hp as that is usually the limit of lethal i am willing to go to. On turn 6 if you played correctly everything you should either have one of these scenarios:
1) You have Auctioneer + Conceal + maybe some other cards that you can cycle
2) You have cards that will keep preasure on the opponent while delaying the game untill you get the Auctioneer and go wild.
1st scenarios is usualy the best i figured, because most of the time this is what happens:
You auctioneer + conceal, you take some damage that turn, Next turn you go wild with cycling and clearing his board + possibly doing some direct damage via Auctioneer / other concealed minions / +cold blood. On turn 8 The opponent had his board pretty much cleared most of the time ( Unless he is an aggro deck and you didn't happen to get some AOE) so he puts more minions in hope of preasuring you to trade/ kill you next turn, but that is of course not gonna happen, because by that time you should have the right cards to win the game.
Or the game could be delayed for 1 more turn with the same result.
2nd scenario is basicly the same but with the exception that you use your minions to delay the game even further and eventually by turn 8 or 9 you must get the Auctioneer. You go wild drawing, and on turn 10 end the game with the leeroy combo which you drew on turn 9 + a part of it on turn 10 sometimes.
These scenarios can be countered by some decks and here are some examples:
1. Zoo Lock puts too much preasure and you have a really bad starting hand and cant deal with his minions, and by turn 5 you are dead
2. Same scenario with handlocks giants, bad hand, can't deal with them, get smashed for 8 a few times, concede
3. Controll warrior- If the opponent knows what he is doing, he just needs to stack up enough armor so you cant get him into lethal range, which is sadly a downside of this deck since it has limited damage output
All in all this is a really solid deck that looks bad the first time you try it, but if you are willing to commit to learning the tricks on how to play it i guarantee you that it will perform very well.
Sorry for grammar mistakes that i made, i am writting this at 3:40 am :D , Oh and for the record im Rank 8 with this deck but i can go easy legend if i want to, im just into arena more lately :)
My question would be, for that first scenario you wrote: Which cards did you even have in your hand? o.O
I suggest reading about the muligan for this deck.
Can you explain why you added the new cards in the deck and replaced the old ones?
Like cold blood - sinister strike, Gnomish Inventor, 2nd fan of knifes ... ?
Makes it better on ladder :)
My deck is exactly the same except it has the replacements you mentioned for Leroy, Bloodmage, and Preparation. From the last 50 games I can say I've only won a handful of times against level 20s. I have not been able to stay at level 19 this entire time. I have been to level 14 with my personal decks I crafted myself and average well in the arena. And I've also watched videos on players playing the miracle rogue decks and have knowledge of the basic strategy to it. This deck simply stinks. Most decks I face are very zoo and aggressive, and well...complete idiots (at this level).
It's very inconsistent at times even though I always mulligan for an auctioneer (although recently I have been keeping the SI:7 combos since there's nothing but aggressive decks). The problem is once you reach 6 mana you're able to do the auctioneer and conceal (or shadowstep if you have to) combo and since I don't have preparation, most of the time you would've either (1) spent most of your spells clearing the board or (2) your opponent has a pretty dominant hold on it.
AoE doesn't cut it against Yetis, Shieldmastas, Stormwind Commanders, etc. Azure Drake spends most of its time in my hand or used as a high mana throw away draw one minion. It's very difficult to get any additional spell damage because of this.
The game itself was coming off kinda boring around rank 15 where my decks weren't constructed like the pro ones, so I was stuck going no where. Since I liked playing rogue most and don't feel like shelling out the $100-300 to gamble for a good rogue deck of cards, I disenchanted some cards I wasn't going to use and bought the ones listed here with the dust. So far I'm doing way worse than a deck with only the basics. Depressing to say the least.
Well without Leeroy and preps the deck is a lot harder to use. This deck is very hard to learn how to play and If you are new to the game I would suggest another deck :)
IMO there is no substitute for Preparation because of card draw with Auctioneer. It is as essential as Shadowstep and Leeroy/Golem is for this deck to work. With Preparation you can Auctioneer + Preparation + Conceal at turn 5 without coin, which is huge. I wouldn't play this deck without it, I'd only get frustrated.
Zoo is a difficult matchup because of the high pressure they bring and this deck containing a lot of potential dead cards. Against Zoo you need your Backstabs, Eviscerates, Poisons and especially Blade Flurry. There's a disgusting amount of Zoo right now, so I'd put in Nerub'ar Weblord to counter it.
