ANNOUNCEMENT:

Thank you for all of the support you guys have given me. It has meant alot whenever you said how well you were doing with this deck, and made me really happy to become this popular. I've tried infinite amount of combinations to make this deck compatible with tgt with and yet no answer. My conclusion is that this deck has died, and won't be revived shortly. I will work on other class decks once i have more tgt cards and pray that you'll give me the same amount of support once again

Thank you

If you sad about this just like me, i recommend hearing this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QuNhTLVgV2Y

Went from rank 10 to legend in about 60 wins total. Will write a guide should this get 15+

Short summary about me:
Hello i'm an 18 year old high school student from Denmark, who's been playing hearthstone on and off since beta. I've tried to go legend one time in s13 or something i believe playing facehunter mainly rising to rank 1, but then i fell to rank 5 and gave up for now, but when i heard about the chests i thought i might as well give it a try, and wooptidoo i flew through ranks with quite a bit of luck and suddenly im legend, yay!

Basically it's just a regular mid-range hunter deck with a few tweaks. For example the leper gnome instead of webspinner since i seriously believe webspinner to just be a waste of space in the decklist.
The general tactic is to get early boardcontrol and then just switch over to aggression at a certain point.

The guide (Not sure how in-depth i should go here, so i'll just write a draft and answer questions should there be any):

Mid-range hunter puts a lot of emphasis on getting early board control with strong early game minions such as haunted creeper, scientist, abusive etc.
You'll mainly be trying to play on curve, the deck has very little draw, but it's no problem when you're putting down 1 card a time in the early game. Ofc if the situation calls for it you'll be spending more than 1 card in a turn.
Since you're looking for board contol, you'll rarely hit face with eaglehorn bow, instead use it to kill minions so that your creeps still live!
The transgression between board control and face usually happens around turn 5-6 or so, when the enemy has already taken damage from your op board control, and is rdy for more dmg, when he then finally gets board control again you'll be able to hero power+ quick shot + kill command or maybe just hit him with creeps.

Mulligan:
You want early board control, so you should search aggressively for 1 and 2 drops

  • ALWAYS throw freezing traps away as you want them from mad scientist
  • keep bow against warriors to kill acolyte
  • keep unleash the hounds if you're against pala, maybe keep against lock if you feel it's zoo, but i don't dare take the chance
  • throw away kill command and quick shots as you don't really want them in the early game
  • NEVER keep more than a single 1 drop in your hand, you'll run out of cards quickly if you play 1 drop turn 1, then 2 1- drops turn 2

With coin:
It's acceptable to keep 3 drops, and even 4 drops like shredder if you already have a 1 and 2 drop on hand

Without coin:
search very aggressively against 1 or 2 drops, only 3 drop i could consider keeping if there are no 1 or 2 drops would be animal companion, but i'd prefer praying to rng for a better hand

Match-ups:

Warrior:
Control (warrior favored):
Lucky you it's not grim patron! now you have approx 30% chance of winning instead of 10%! You should hopefully try get early board control and kill him quickly before he gets alexstrasza, shield maiden, shield block etc. Once it gets to late game he's won it.
Grim Patron (warrior highly favored):
Play like Face Hunter for the first few turns, always kill/silence Armorsmith on sight (there are only 4 things you care about silencing unless they play Ghoul), and save your Freezing Traps and Houndmasters for turn 8. You can't clear a board full of patrons but the real goal is to put on enough pressure that they have to waste their Inner Rages killing your Leper Gnomes. Also, try to play around Execute on your big drops if possible. (credz to pg8, as i was oblivious on how to deal with everyone get in here!)

Shaman (hunter favored):
I only met 1 shaman so not toootally sure about this match up, or even what kind of shamans there are except for mech shaman, but anyways get some board control and make a nice transgression towards face, make sure he aint getting his mech game going.

Rogue (hunter slightly favored):
Just like shaman i hardly met any rouges ranking up, but the good ol board control then face is the place works.

Paladin:
Control pala (pretty equal, maybe hunter favored):
A game of who gets the right cards, control palas are rare, but you'll generally hope he doesn't get board control and then some heals going

Ebola pala (heavily hunter favored):
keep unleash the hounds, get some early game cards and it should be an almost auto win, except in few cases where the pala just gets the perfect cards.

Hunter:
Facehunter (heavily hybrid hunter favored):
once you've got the early board control with scientists, traps, and creepers the facehunter can't do much anymore,
Midrange hunter (hybrid slightly favored):
Well the decks are more a less the same with a few tweaks, since this deck is slightly faster with quick shot and leper gnomes you have a slight advantage
Hybrid(well yeah... mirror match-up):
Not much to say here

Druid:
Mid-range druid (slightly druid favored):
They have a slow start, so try rush him down early before he gets out the taunts and combos. Game is often decided by wether you have a good start, and wether he can deal with it through zombie chows and wraths

Ramp druid (hunter favored):
Same as before but even slower deck, therefor you'll often end up getting him very low before the taunts come, and then finish him off with hero power / kill command / Quick Shot

Warlock:
Handlock (hunter favored):
Rush him down asap and pray he gotten his molten giants / taunts, do not ever let him get defender of argus / sunfury protector / healbot back on his hand through freezing
Mid-range zoolock ( very hunter favored):
He's basically trying to do the same as you, main difference is his hero power deals damage to himself, while your hero deals damage to him, oh and the fact his flame imp kills himself aswell

Mage:
Freeze mage (pretty equal):
Rush him down asap, keep silence for doomsayer or maybe just to unfreeze a minion and hit the face for lethal, get him low and finish him off with direct damage.
Mech mage (hunter favored):
This deck is getting popular again and it's getting on my nerves, but usually you'll get the early board control and win it from there. Sometimes the mage will have a perfect hand and there's not a thing you can do to win it.
Machine gun mage(hunter favored):
This game is usually decided already in round 3 or 4, if you get some good board control he'll be slaughtered, on the other side even if he gets a good start, you can usually deal with it and win anyways.

Priest (Priest favored):
They often get the early board controls, then steals your creeps later in the game, and once they get the board control priests are VERY scary. Otherwise if you have a good start you'll often be able to rush him down before he gets scary.
